CHAPTER 406: CHAPTER 406: MY LITTLE BROTHER STILL HAS A LOT TO LEARN

Chantelle already knew that. Philip, Russell, and Alexander wouldn’t be spending all their time in the lab if things weren’t that serious.

"Let’s forget about the past for now and just spend whatever time we have left in peace. Is that okay?"

"Well, how do we do that?" Chantelle asked, raising her brows.

"We’ll just treat each other like friends. We’ll do what feels right and let things happen naturally."

Chantelle could feel the sincerity in Daniel’s voice and see it in his eyes.

If they only had a few days left to live, why waste them playing mind games? Why not forget everything else and simply enjoy the time they had together?

"Okay," Chantelle said with a smile.

Her response brought a smile to Daniel’s face, too.

That afternoon, Daniel and Chantelle stepped out of the room. They looked the same as usual, but everyone could sense something different between them.

"Mommy, are you okay?" Kane and Stephanie ran up to Chantelle and hugged her tightly.

Railer walked over to Daniel and looked up at him. When his father gave a small nod, Railer immediately felt relieved.

"I’m fine. Mommy’s feeling much better now." Chantelle gently patted the twins’ heads, then motioned for Railer to come closer and lifted him into her arms.

"Have you finished copying the passage? Let me see."

Kane rushed to his room and came back holding two notebooks. He and Railer had been told to copy a short passage from a children’s book twice as punishment yesterday.

Daniel flipped through the notebooks and looked straight at Kane. "You cheated. Copy it two more times. You too, Rai."

Chantelle could tell it must’ve been Kane’s idea. "Kane, you can only play your computer games after you finish copying the passage."

"Mommy, no!" Kane cried, wrapping his arms around Chantelle again.

"Rai, if you help Kane cheat again, I’ll freeze your account instantly." Chantelle had given Railer a large amount of money since he’d taken an interest in the stock market.

At her words, Railer quickly shook his head. "I was wrong. I won’t help Kane anymore."

"Rai, how could you do this to me?! We’re twins! Didn’t we agree to stick together and never give in to any form of oppression?" Kane glared at Railer and motioned for him to speak to Chantelle.

Rai never acted cute around Mommy. If he did, she’d surely forgive them both.

But Railer ignored Kane and buried his face in the crook of Chantelle’s neck.

Kane sighed in defeat. Sigh... My little brother still has a lot to learn.

"To not give in to any form of oppression, huh?" Daniel said as he grabbed a cane from a nearby cupboard and started walking slowly toward Kane.

Kane bolted. "Daddy, calm down! Calm down, please!"

"Daddy, you should hit him on his butt!" Stephanie suddenly shouted to Daniel.

"Steph, I’m sorry I got your doll dirty! I’ll buy you a new one, okay?"

"You can’t! That was a limited edition doll! And I still can’t get the stain off!" Stephanie retorted sharply.

While the three of them kept arguing, Railer leaned closer to Chantelle and whispered, "Mommy, can we go out tomorrow?"

Chantelle didn’t agree to Railer’s request right away. Instead, she asked Philip to run another check-up on her and Daniel that night.

After learning about their plan to go out, Philip reminded them of the necessary precautions and gave his approval.

Early the next morning, they all took a helicopter to a private island owned by Daniel, along with the three doctors.

As the island came into view, Kane couldn’t hide his excitement. "Mommy! Mommy! I want to surf! I want to surf!" he shouted.

Stephanie looked out the window and pointed toward a yacht. "I want to go on the yacht! It’s been so long since I last went out to sea," she said excitedly.

Chantelle looked at Railer. He wasn’t as excited as his siblings since he had already visited several exotic islands with Daniel before. Still, he smiled and pointed toward the island. "I want to pick fruits in the orchard. I like eating grapes."

"Orchard? What do they have there? Do they have monkeys?" Kane hurried over and asked.

Railer was pushed aside from the window. "They have grapes, watermelons, mangoes, lychees, and lots of other fruits in the orchard."

Kane stubbornly asked again. "Do they have monkeys?"

Daniel chuckled and pinched Kane’s cheek. "Not only are there monkeys, but there are also many small animals living in that rainforest. I’ll take all of you to explore it together."

The island was quite large. Besides the beaches and resort houses, there was also a wide stretch of rainforest on one side. Daniel had explored the area with his men before and confirmed it was safe. They had only found some rare plants and animals there.

"Cool! That’s so awesome! I want to explore the rainforest!" Kane said excitedly.

Suddenly, a thought crossed Chantelle’s mind at that moment.

A father’s presence really means a lot to a child.

For the past six years, I’ve tried to let my kids spend time with men like Xander and Grandmaster. But it’s completely different when they’re with Daniel.

Daniel didn’t even have to do anything special, yet the kids naturally felt happy with him around. They seemed to look up to him instinctively.

"Did I make your heart flutter?" Daniel teased, gently poking Chantelle’s forehead when he noticed her staring at him blankly. Then, he gave her a charming smile.

Chantelle had always been weak to his good looks. She quickly came to her senses and turned her head away.

But Daniel leaned closer to her. "There are plenty of fun games and facilities on the island. Is there anything you’d like to try?"

"I’m not a kid anymore, you know," Chantelle said, giving him a sidelong glance.

"It doesn’t mean you can’t have fun just because you’re not a kid anymore. You didn’t come all the way here for work. What else would you do on this island if you weren’t enjoying the moment?" Daniel said with a joyful laugh.

A faint smile curved on Chantelle’s lips. "I’ll do whatever the kids want to do."

"Then let’s go surfing in the afternoon," Daniel said and gave her a quick wink. His eyes wandered over her figure.

Even though she’s gotten thinner because of the virus, she still has such a beautiful, curvy body.

I’m glad I own this private island. That way, no one else will get to see her in a swimsuit except me.

Daniel didn’t mind having those three male doctors around. Philip will probably go straight to his room and spend the whole day sleeping anyway.

"Sure!" Chantelle thought Daniel was challenging her to surf.

Daniel gave her a warm smile and looked at her with an intense stare. Their kids watched from the side, giggling joyfully.
