Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 408: Did I Not Make You Feel Good At All?
CHAPTER 408: CHAPTER 408: DID I NOT MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD AT ALL?
Chantelle quickly pursed her lips.
It’s not that he was bad in bed. I just couldn’t keep up with him. But there’s no way I’d ever tell him that.
She stayed silent and walked away.
Daniel, however, wasn’t ready to drop the topic. As a man, it clearly bothered him.
"Was it really that bad when we were together? Did I not make you feel good at all?" he asked persistently.
Chantelle felt her face heat up. "Shut up already!"
"No. You must give me a definite answer today. Did I or did I not make you feel good in bed?" Daniel blocked her path.
Chantelle was blushing thoroughly. Memories of their nights together flashed through her mind.
Surprisingly, we weren’t exactly strangers in that department, even though our marriage was rocky. After that first night when Daniel was drunk, he kept using our marriage as an excuse to start things.
"Chantelle, this matters to me! When I saw how upset you were after you broke those antiques that day, I was only trying to distract you that night..."
Just then, Chantelle heard footsteps coming toward them. She quickly covered Daniel’s mouth. "Stop it!"
"Ack! These grapes are so sour! Rai, how dare you lie about them being sweet! You’re making me a fool!" Chantelle could faintly hear Kane and Railer’s voices in the distance.
The thought of the servants watching over their children, possibly overhearing their conversation, made her embarrassed.
Daniel could tell what she was worried about just by looking at her face. He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Did I make you feel good at any point?"
"No! Absolutely not! Are you happy now?" Chantelle snapped at him.
Daniel grabbed her wrist and said, "You’re lying."
"I did not!" Chantelle shot back immediately.
"I remember how flushed you were beneath me. You even begged me to move faster..."
Chantelle glanced past his shoulder and saw their kids running toward them. "Enough already! Fine, I admit you’re amazing in bed, okay?"
"Then why did you think I was punishing you that night? You looked like you enjoyed it, too."
"Will you stop it already? I was in a bad mood back then. You forced yourself on me, and you wouldn’t stop even when I asked you to. Isn’t that enough reason for me to be angry?"
Chantelle shoved Daniel aside and walked straight toward the kids without looking back.
"Mommy, Rai is so naughty! He tricked me into eating these sour grapes!" Kane complained as soon as he saw her.
Chantelle wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, "That’s what you get for being too gullible."
"I learned it all from Daddy. Sigh... look at the things I do just to make my little brother happy."
While Chantelle was wiping the sweat from Railer’s forehead, the servants noticed how intently Daniel was watching her. Understanding the situation, they quickly led the children away to give the couple some privacy.
Daniel walked over and took Chantelle’s hand. With a smile, he said, "I know what I did wrong. I’ll remember it and do better next time."
"Mr. Wilson, no one agreed to a next time with you."
Even though Chantelle was glaring at him, Daniel couldn’t stop grinning. "No next time? Then how about right now? I don’t mind..."
"Fine! Take off your clothes then, Mr. Wilson." Chantelle decided to play along and reached out to unbutton his shirt.
Daniel quickly grabbed her hands and said, "Okay! I was wrong! I shouldn’t have teased you like that. Please forgive me."
"I should just let all your employees see what a shameless man you are!" Chantelle huffed. She pulled her hands away and walked toward the nearby vineyard.
A little while later, she reached a hill at the edge of the vineyard. As she looked at the view before her, she slowly took a deep breath, wanting to remember this moment.
Red corn poppies blanketed the hillside, stretching as far as she could see.
Chantelle walked up the hill and stopped halfway. Daniel, who somehow had a picnic mat with him, caught up and spread it out on the ground.
"You’re very well prepared, Mr. Wilson."
Chantelle chuckled softly as she praised him.
Both of them lay side by side on the mat.
Daniel then said, "This is nothing to me. There are still many things I could do to please a woman and win her heart."
Chantelle saw him slowly inching toward her, and she swatted his hand when he tried to reach for hers. "Don’t forget what you said about us being friends for now. Why are you getting touchy again?"
"My bad. I just couldn’t help myself when I’m around you," Daniel said, moving back to his spot.
Chantelle kept a cautious eye on him for the next few minutes. Her body slowly relaxed when she saw that Daniel didn’t try to make another move. She looked up at the clear, blue sky and admired the view. "It’s so peaceful here. If only days like this could go on forever."
"If you like it here, we can stay for as long as you want," Daniel said while his dark eyes sparkled as he looked at her.
"What about the Wilson Group of Companies?" Chantelle asked as she turned to lie on her side. She propped herself up on one elbow and looked at Daniel.
Daniel mirrored her position, facing her. "I don’t need anything else if I can have you by my side."
They stared at each other for a while. Then Chantelle said, "That might be true for you, but not for me. I’d miss the fun of the outside world too much."
"Then we’ll leave this place once we’ve had enough fun here," Daniel said, ready to grant any wish she had.
Chantelle smiled softly but didn’t reply. She lay back down on the mat and closed her eyes. She silently enjoyed the warm breeze and the scent of fresh flowers around her.
Daniel stayed on his side while his eyes were fixed on Chantelle’s face without blinking. A look of pure satisfaction lingered on his face the whole time.
After a while, they heard Kane’s voice calling from a distance.
"Mommy! Mommy! Let’s go surfing!"
Kane had already changed into his swimsuit. He ran toward his parents, carrying a small surfboard in his arms. Then he slipped between them and lay down on the mat.
His eyes sparkled with excitement as he looked up at them.
"I’ll change into my swimsuit first. You, Rai, and Steph must wait on the beach. You’re not allowed to go into the water on your own, okay?" Chantelle quickly sat up and instructed Kane in a stern voice.
Before she could say anything else, Kane had already jumped up and dashed toward the beach. "I know! I know! You’d better hurry and meet us there, Mommy!"
