CHAPTER 409: CHAPTER 409: SLOW DOWN

After that, Chantelle and Daniel went back to the villa to change into their swimwear.

When Daniel saw Chantelle in her bikini, he felt his heart almost stop.

I’m so glad I told all the servants to stay inside earlier. I’ll make sure no other man ever lays eyes on this stunning beauty before me.

The two of them met their kids on the beach. Kane and Stephanie already knew how to surf, thanks to Xander’s lessons. But since it had been a while, Chantelle asked Daniel to keep an eye on them while they were in the water.

Meanwhile, Chantelle took Railer, who was still a beginner, to the shallow part of the beach to teach him how to surf.

Railer had been to the seaside with Daniel before, but because of his quiet and reserved nature, he usually stayed on the shore building sandcastles instead of joining others.

Last night, Kane couldn’t stop talking about how fun surfing was, and his excitement made Railer curious. So, he decided to give it a try that day.

"Mommy, are we going out to the sea tomorrow on the yacht?" Railer asked as he tried to keep his balance on the surfboard.

Chantelle nodded. "Your dad said we’ll take the yacht and go fishing tomorrow. If we catch some fish, I’ll cook something nice for us."

Railer paused for a moment after hearing that.

Mommy’s going to cook something nice for us... I should remind Daddy to bring a chef with us tomorrow.

Railer picked things up quickly and learned how to surf in no time. Meanwhile, Kane and Stephanie were having the time of their lives riding the waves. Daniel mostly stayed closer to Stephanie, while Kane managed to enjoy the moment alone.

"What are you looking at, Rai?" Chantelle asked when she noticed Railer staring at Kane and the others as she demonstrated a move to him.

Railer shook his head slightly but didn’t say a word.

Chantelle took his hand and led him toward the others. "You’ve learned almost everything. Let’s go play with them. We’ll have Daddy teach you how to surf, too."

Railer’s eyes lit up instantly.

Chantelle had always been especially attentive to him. She knew that, deep down, Railer was a sensitive child, even though he tried to act calm and mature. She always paid close attention to his expressions whenever they talked.

"Daniel, can you show Rai how to surf for a bit? He’s still a little nervous since he’s new to it," Chantelle called out.

Daniel was holding Stephanie in his arms. He looked at Railer and said flatly, "You’re a boy. Try doing it on your own."

The light in Railer’s eyes dimmed. He picked up his surfboard and started walking toward the deeper part of the water alone.

Chantelle quickly caught his wrist and turned to Daniel. "What’s wrong with you? Rai is new to this. Would it hurt for you to guide him for a while?"

"You shouldn’t treat him like a baby all the time. Even Stephanie is braver than he most of the time," Daniel said in a tone showing his displeasure as he stared at Railer, who had lowered his head.

Railer pulled his hand free from Chantelle’s grasp. He climbed onto the surfboard and tried to ride the waves by himself. But every time a wave came, he fell off. He tried again and again, but still couldn’t manage to stay on the board.

Kane went over to help Railer a little later. "Rai, slow down! You don’t have to rush," he said.

Railer shoved him aside. "It’s none of your business!"

His voice was so loud that even Daniel, who had walked away to get Stephanie some water, could hear it.

"What’s the matter with you? Go back to your room now if you’re going to act like this!" Daniel said in an annoyed voice.

He had been growing more and more irritated with Railer’s behavior lately, but he never said anything about it because Chantelle always showed so much concern for the boy.

Railer lifted his head and glared at Daniel with anger in his eyes. He refused to say a word.

Kane quickly tried to defend his brother. "It was my fault! I was teasing Rai just now."

"Don’t act like you’re helping me!" Railer shouted and glared at Kane.

Daniel was furious at Railer’s response. He lifted the child, slung him over his shoulder, and turned to head back toward the villa.

Chantelle had just returned from the restroom. When she came back to the beach, she saw Daniel storming toward the shore with his face full of fury. Then, she noticed Railer hanging over his shoulder.

"What are you doing? Put the child down."

"Take care of the other kids. I need to teach him a lesson today," Daniel said sharply.

Chantelle ignored his tone and took Railer from his arms. "Can’t you just talk to him calmly and help him understand what he did wrong?"

"Daddy, then punish both of us! We’re brothers!" Kane said as he ran up to them and held Railer’s hand tightly.

Stephanie rushed over and asked, "Daddy, Kane isn’t even upset, even though Railer yelled at him. Why are you angry at Railer? Why do you want to punish him?"

"Alright. Your dad’s probably just tired from the heat. Don’t mind him. Let’s play by ourselves," Chantelle said, giving Daniel a cold glare to stop him from saying anything else.

Then, she took the kids to the beach. Before long, their laughter filled the air as they played together. Even Railer and Kane seemed to have forgotten their earlier argument.

From a distance, Daniel watched the four of them running around the sandy shore. His expression turned thoughtful as his eyes drifted toward the yacht anchored nearby.

Everyone was exhausted after spending the whole afternoon playing at the beach. After a simple dinner, they all went to bed. Kane, Railer, and Stephanie were supposed to sleep in their own rooms, but Kane insisted on sharing a room with Railer.

While everyone was asleep, Railer heard some meowing sounds. After checking that Kane was still fast asleep, he secretly tiptoed to the toilet and climbed out the window into the backyard. He moved carefully along the garden path until he reached a small hole in the wall surrounding the villa. An adult wouldn’t be able to fit through it, but it was just the right size for a kid like Railer.
