Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 417: What A Childish Stunt
CHAPTER 417: CHAPTER 417: WHAT A CHILDISH STUNT
Chantelle tilted her head and gave Daniel a puzzled look. Daniel sighed softly and went back to cutting the steak. Each time he sliced a piece, he fed it to her.
"I can’t eat anymore," Chantelle said, holding her stomach.
But Daniel kept feeding her, acting like a stubborn child.
Chantelle then turned the fork in his hand toward his mouth, but he refused to open it.
"Could you please tell me what you want, Mr. Wilson?" she asked.
What a childish stunt! Was this really how the Demon King of Easthan should act?
"Will you give it to me if I tell you?" Daniel asked, one brow raised.
Chantelle’s heart skipped a beat. She forced herself to stay calm and said, "It’s up to you whether you tell me or not. I’m leaving."
The wind lifted her skirt slightly, brushing against Daniel’s leg. He caught her wrist and pulled her into his arms. His voice was low and rough as he whispered beside her ear, "Is it delicious?"
Those three words sent a flutter through Chantelle’s heart. It felt like someone had poured sparkling water into her chest, and soft pink bubbles kept rising inside her heart, one after another.
It was like steak, but not exactly.
Chantelle looked at him with bright eyes and slightly parted her lips. Daniel smiled, then leaned down and kissed her.
The bodyguards quickly turned away, making sure the two women did the same.
The two women wanted to cry, but they couldn’t do it. They’d failed to win the rich man’s heart and could only swallow their bitterness as they watched the two kissing each other passionately.
Stephanie, Kane, and Railer covered their mouths while giggling joyfully.
"Can Mommy have a baby sister now?" Kane suddenly asked.
"I think so," Stephanie answered innocently.
She remembered that in the dramas, when two people kissed, the scene would fade into the night, and then the woman would end up pregnant.
"I don’t think that’s how it works. They have to sleep together to make a baby," Railer said, frowning as if something didn’t add up.
"Yes, they still have to sleep together!" Stephanie agreed.
"Didn’t you just say that woman had medicine to make someone pregnant?" Kane asked again.
Stephanie nodded. She remembered clearly. That woman had said if her father took a small dose of the medicine in her hand, she could have his child, and then she’d live rich and happy for the rest of her life.
"Then let’s go get the medicine from them!" Kane said eagerly.
Stephanie and Railer exchanged a look, hesitated for a moment, then finally went along with Kane.
Chantelle’s knees felt weak from Daniel’s kiss, so she leaned against his chest, trying to catch her breath.
"Do you still want to go downstairs?" Daniel asked, a satisfied smile playing on his lips.
His voice was low and rough, carrying a hint of desire that made anyone’s heart skip a beat.
Afraid she might lose control, Chantelle pushed him away and hurried downstairs to the cabin.
When they reached the door, they could already hear people arguing inside.
"We told them not to make a scene, so they gagged the women," one of the bodyguards said doubtfully.
"Open the door," Daniel ordered as he pulled Chantelle behind him, blocking her view.
The bodyguard stepped forward and kicked the cabin door open with one strong blow.
Inside were three Isernian men, three Isernian women, and one Demacian woman. The place was a complete mess.
Daniel’s eyes swept over the scene. The Demacian woman was clutching the torn remains of her clothes, trembling in fear. Her body and face were covered in bruises.
A tall man stood near the door and turned when it burst open. The woman’s eyes lit up as if she’d seen her savior, and she tried to run toward Daniel. But before she could take more than two steps, a naked man grabbed her by the hair and yanked her back.
"What do you want?" one of the men barked. The three were big and rough-looking, the kind who were used to getting their way.
When they saw Daniel was a Demacian, their expressions turned mocking and full of scorn.
"Put clothes on them," Daniel ordered the bodyguard as his eyes were filled with disgust.
Right after he spoke, one of the men reached toward a chair nearby. Several pieces of clothing were piled on it, but it was hard to tell what was hidden underneath.
Before the man could grab anything, the knife Daniel had used to cut the steak earlier flew across the room and pinned his hand to the wall.
The man let out a cry of pain while his face twisted in fury. He was about to pull out the gun hidden under the pile of clothes when the bodyguard moved first and took him down.
"There are four guns in total, Mr. Wilson," the bodyguard reported.
The bodyguard handed the weapons to Daniel. Chantelle tried to look over his shoulder, but he gently pushed her back.
Daniel glanced at the weapons with disgust and told the bodyguard to keep them away.
He only let Chantelle step out from behind him after the bodyguards had dressed everyone.
"Bring her here," he said.
At first glance, Chantelle could tell something was wrong with the Demacian woman.
"What are you trying to do? We only asked for your help! You have no right to interfere, let alone take our people!" a blonde man shouted angrily.
The Demacian woman flinched and covered her head the moment he raised his hand, clearly terrified from past beatings.
Chantelle hated men who hit women for no reason. She gave the bodyguard a look, signaling him to hold the man’s mouth open. From a distance, she made him swallow something.
It slid straight down his throat, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t spit it out. He kept cursing at first, but soon, he couldn’t make a sound.
The Demacian woman stared at Chantelle in shock. Then she rushed forward, dropped to her knees, and silently cried, begging for help with her eyes.
Chantelle’s heart softened. She helped the woman up and led her upstairs to change her clothes.
Daniel stayed behind to question the men. He asked why they had boarded the yacht and why they had sent the two women upstairs earlier.
Eventually, he learned that the three men were casino enforcers who had each committed murder. They’d spotted a Demacian woman on shore and wanted her to come with them. When she refused, she offered her sister instead and told them there was plenty of gold on the yacht.
It took Daniel only a moment to realize who the woman was. The Demacian woman they mentioned was Quinn, the same woman who had tried to kidnap Kane and Railer.
"That woman sent us here," one of the men said angrily. "She told us your yacht was loaded with gold and that only a young couple and a child were on board. That bitch lied to us!"
