CHAPTER 433: CHAPTER 433: IT’S NOTHING SERIOUS

Before Chantelle could look at the message on Stephanie’s phone, her phone rang. It was Rowan asking her to come to Sunshine Villa.

"What happened?" Chantelle asked. She didn’t expect Kane to cause trouble at the Nelsen family’s house.

"Just come here. It’s nothing serious. Don’t worry."

From Rowan’s tone, it didn’t sound serious, and Chantelle felt relieved. Turning around, she told Clinton, "Go home, pack your things, and move here. Then wait for the production team to call you."

Clinton nodded and asked if she needed any help. Chantelle said no, then left with Stephanie.

When they left the suburb, Chantelle told the driver, "Drop me at the junction ahead. Send Stephanie back. Then pick up Rai and take them to dinner."

"Mommy, I want to be with you." Stephanie wouldn’t let go of Chantelle’s arm.

Chantelle said gently, "I don’t know what’s going on at the Nelsen family. If Camille tries to hurt Kane, you’ll only get in the way."

Stephanie thought for a moment and said, "Mommy, you must come back quickly. We’ll save food for you. And you must be relentless at the Nelsen house. If Camille bullies you, just beat her up. Daddy will protect you here in Easthan anyway. You can’t be called a family member of the Demon King of Easthan for nothing."

"Who taught you to say all this nonsense?" Chantelle glared at the driver, who pretended not to know anything. She figured she’d have to talk to Daniel later about what his subordinates were teaching her children.

After Chantelle got out of the car, the driver said, "Mrs. Wilson, don’t worry. Nothing will happen to you at the Nelsen family’s residence."

He wanted to mention Mr. Wilson again, but Chantelle’s sharp glare made him stop.

"Take Stephanie and Rai to dinner. If I find out you took them somewhere else, I won’t forgive you," Chantelle warned him. She didn’t have the slightest trust in the overly clever driver.

The driver saluted her and said, "Don’t worry, Mrs. Wilson! I’ll complete my mission!" His words left Chantelle speechless.

She took a taxi to Sunshine Villa. The moment she got out, a dozen bodyguards stepped out of their Cadillacs and walked toward her. They bowed and greeted her, "Good evening, Mrs. Wilson!"

Chantelle felt so embarrassed. She couldn’t believe Daniel had sent his men everywhere.

When she saw Rowan coming out with a shocked look to welcome her, she felt even more embarrassed.

"Mrs. Wilson, we’ll go in and visit Kane with you!" one of the bodyguards said as he started walking toward the villa.

Chantelle quickly stopped him and told the rest of the bodyguards to wait outside.

"Mrs. Wilson, Mr. Wilson ordered us to protect you at all times," one of them explained.

"It’s fine. He won’t know since he’s far away. But if you insist on following me inside, I’ll tell Daniel you’re all harassing me," Chantelle said, already exhausted and using her last resort.

The bodyguard froze in fear and quickly bowed. "We’ll wait for you outside. If you call us, we’ll come right away."

Chantelle waved her hand and told Rowan to head back inside. Rowan tried hard not to laugh at what he’d just seen.

"What happened to Kane?" Chantelle asked, pretending nothing had happened.

Rowan didn’t plan to tease her and said, "Kane heard that Grandpa was forcing Daniel to marry Camille, so he came to question him. He called Grandpa an old fossil and demanded that he cancel the engagement."

"This brat is getting more arrogant!" Chantelle was mad. She wondered if Kane even realized that this was also Camille’s home.

If Camille caught him, a five-year-old like him wouldn’t be able to do anything. He would surely suffer under her hands.

The more Chantelle thought about it, the angrier she became.

"Don’t be mad. Grandpa likes Kane. He’s playing with him right now in the backyard."

The Nelsen brothers hadn’t told Steve yet that Chantelle was their sister. They were waiting for him to recover before revealing it.

Still, they thought it was fine to let the triplets spend time with him.

Chantelle followed Rowan to the back of Sunshine Villa. She saw Kane holding his toy gun, pointing it at Old Mr. Nelsen, whose beard looked slightly burnt.

Old Mr. Nelsen was playing along, pretending to be shot.

"Kane got angry when he first came here and accidentally burned Grandpa’s beard," Rowan explained.

He didn’t dare take Chantelle any closer because she looked so much like his mother. He was afraid Steve would notice and get too excited, which could lead to another stroke.

"He’s causing trouble even though I hadn’t hit him!" Chantelle rolled up her sleeves and wanted to punish Kane.

However, Rowan quickly stopped her. "Don’t be so reckless. Look how happy Grandpa is. I called you here because I want you to let Kane stay here for a few more days."

"What?!" Chantelle was stunned.

"Grandpa hasn’t been feeling well and looks depressed. Since Kane gets along with him, I want him to stay and keep Grandpa company for a few more days. Is that okay?" Rowan looked at Chantelle sincerely.

But Chantelle shook her head and said, "I just argued with Camille this morning. She probably still hates me."

She couldn’t leave her son near her enemy.

"Don’t worry. I’ll send Camille away soon and make sure she doesn’t see Kane." In truth, Rowan thought sending Camille away was for her own good. A smart kid like Kane would definitely give her a hard time.

"Chantelle, please. Grandpa is old and weak. I can’t think of anything else that makes him happy. Besides, he really likes Kane," Rowan pleaded.

Chantelle looked at Kane playing with Steve on the grass and hesitated.

"Chantelle? Why are you here? Are you here to accuse me?" Camille suddenly appeared before Chantelle could decide.

Rowan was worried that Camille would catch Steve’s attention, so he quickly dragged her outside.

Camille had wanted to get Steve to take her side, so she struggled to stay. But Rowan lifted her onto his shoulder and carried her out.

"Rowan, what are you doing? Put me down!" she shouted.

Rowan ignored her screams and carried her to her room. After closing the door, he finally put her down and said seriously, "Grandpa is weak. He can’t take any shock. Have you forgotten?"

Camille felt a bit guilty and shot back, "Of course I remember! That’s exactly why I wanted to chase Chantelle away. I don’t want her to upset Grandpa."

"Is that really what you mean?" Rowan asked.
