CHAPTER 434: CHAPTER 434: YOU’RE GETTING NAUGHTIER EVERY DAY

"If you want to marry into the Wilson family, you need to stop making trouble. Even if Mr. Wilson wants to divorce Chantelle, she’s still the mother of the triplets. How can he trust you with them if you’re already giving Chantelle problems before the marriage even happens?"

Rowan had doubts about Daniel marrying Camille. Back in Carcosa, he could tell Daniel still loved Chantelle, so it didn’t make sense that he’d abandon her to marry Camille.

But Daniel’s side had already announced the marriage.

The only explanation Rowan could think of was that Daniel wanted both: a partnership with the Nelsen family and having Chantelle as his lover. Still, Rowan wondered if Chantelle would ever agree to that. Maybe Daniel was using the triplets to force her.

Six years ago, she was alone and helpless. Daniel had bullied her once, and Rowan couldn’t let that happen again. He wanted Chantelle to leave Daniel for good.

"I don’t care if I don’t have to take care of them," Camille said, rolling her eyes. She never liked kids anyway and had no interest in looking after Daniel’s three brats.

Rowan looked at her and shook his head in disappointment.

Ever since she arrived in Easthan, the image of her being a sweet, obedient girl had completely fallen apart. She didn’t even bother to pretend anymore. Rowan wondered who had given her the nerve to act so arrogantly.

"Don’t you know how much Mr. Wilson loves his triplets? If you don’t like them, how could he ever like you?" Rowan said. If she weren’t his sister, he wouldn’t have bothered explaining something so obvious.

Camille suddenly realized that Rowan’s words made sense. She thought she could win over the triplets by buying them things. There was no need to offend Daniel over them.

"I already told you. Mr. Wilson loves Chantelle and the triplets. You’d better think carefully about whether you really want to marry him. The Nelsen family won’t sacrifice you for our benefit." Rowan said.

"Does that mean everything’s fine if Chantelle’s gone? Rowan, why can’t you get rid of Chantelle? Then Mr. Wilson will only have eyes for me." Camille stared at Rowan angrily, acting as if it were all his fault.

Camille was furious. Rowan was supposed to be her brother, but he was always siding with Chantelle.

"Camille, we run an honest business. We don’t get our hands dirty. You’re a Nelsen, not a princess or a queen. You can’t just get rid of someone whenever you want. If you hurt Chantelle, Daniel will send you straight to prison tomorrow!"

Rowan was completely disappointed in his sister. Being cunning wasn’t the problem, but what made him worried was that Camille was both cruel and foolish.

He was scared that one day she might drag the entire Nelsen family down with her.

"You’re just scared! Coward!" Camille shouted and turned her back on him.

Rowan, feeling he might die from frustration, turned around and left the room. He locked the door behind him.

When Camille heard the lock click, she banged on the door and yelled, "Rowan, let me out!"

"The day after tomorrow is your birthday. It’s also your engagement with the Wilson family. Stay in your room and get ready," Rowan said.

After that, he ordered the maids not to let her out under any circumstances.

He had never supported this marriage from the start. But Camille insisted on marrying Daniel and even convinced Steve to agree.

Camille screamed in her room for a long time, but no one answered her. She blamed everything on Chantelle and wished she were dead.

"Is the movie ready? Start filming now. We must start our shooting before Chantelle does. And don’t let Clinton succeed!" she shouted furiously.

"Don’t worry, Ms. Nelsen. Everything is ready. You can check what people are saying online now."

"Camille hung up angrily. After losing to Chantelle that morning, she spent a large sum to hire several famous actors and hastily assembled a crew to shoot a copycat of the movie Stephanie was filming. She also paid a large sum to bring in a scriptwriter for the project, then hired a team to spread rumors online, stating that Stephanie’s film was an imitation and that its cast consisted mostly of unknown actors, except for Stephanie.

Now that Clinton, who had become infamous from being trolled, was confirmed as the male lead, people started to believe Stephanie was greedy and had only returned to Easthan to make money. Some even called her a foreigner and said she should go back to where she belonged.

Camille finally calmed down when she saw Stephanie being bashed online. Then she called her assistant, Anthony.

"Who are the guests for my engagement banquet?"

"Don’t worry. With Old Mr. Nelsen attending, every reputable person in Easthan will come to the banquet."

"Invite Chantelle."

"Chantelle? What if she causes trouble at the banquet..."

"Just have someone watch her. I want to ruin her at the banquet. I want her humiliated in front of Daniel and Railer. When the time comes, you will—"

Anthony was shocked to hear Camille, but he had always followed her orders, so he dared not disobey.

After Rowan left Camille’s room, he went straight to the backyard to look for Chantelle. However, a maid told him she had already left with Kane.

"Did Grandpa meet Chantelle?" he asked.

"No. Ms. Chantelle called the boy, and he left after saying goodbye to Old Mr. Nelsen."

Rowan sighed in relief, but he still felt disappointed.

After what happened today, Chantelle was probably being cautious around them. She must have noticed that he wanted Kane to stay. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have left without saying a word.

Chantelle was scolding Kane in the car while he sat silently. He didn’t dare to talk back to his mother.

"You’re getting naughtier every day! Starting tomorrow, you’re going back to kindergarten!"

Chantelle was furious. She had been worried sick after knowing that Kane had gone to see Old Mr. Nelsen at the Nelsen family’s villa. If he had run into Camille, he would have been in serious trouble.

"Mommy, I want to go to elementary school," Kane said, raising his hand cautiously.

Chantelle shot him a look and said, "Do you think it’s that easy to get into elementary school? Wait until you pass the interview."

"Mommy, have you forgotten who gave birth to me? My mother is Chantelle, the world’s smartest genius! An elementary school exam and interview are nothing to me," Kane said proudly, lifting his chin.
