CHAPTER 455: CHAPTER 455: WHY IS HE WEARING SUIT AT HOME?

"Don’t worry, Kane. Mommy will call Uncle Russell now."

Russell was staying next to Western Hill Villa. He could get to Stephanie in five minutes.

Hearing that, Kane was stunned. How could he forget that?

"Mommy, Steph is crying. She wants to see you now."

Thinking about Stephanie being sick, Chantelle wished she could fly home immediately.

"I have to hang up, Kane. Uncle Russell will be there soon. Don’t worry, okay?"

"Mommy, don’t hang up..." Kane begged. He still wanted to transfer the call to Daniel’s phone.

Chantelle hesitated, but then Daniel’s voice came through. "It’s me. I’m behind you. Turn back now. Let’s go home together."

Chantelle looked in the rearview mirror and saw Daniel’s car. But she had no time to deal with him. She only wanted to get back to Stephanie.

In her heart, nothing was more important than her children. She was willing to give up everything and leave Easthan if it was for them.

"Don’t worry. Stephanie will be fine. I’ve already asked Russell to take care of her," Daniel said, worried Chantelle might drive too fast and get into an accident.

Hearing that, Chantelle took a deep breath. She hung up and pressed harder on the accelerator.

Suddenly, an SUV appeared out of nowhere and sped straight toward her car. Chantelle quickly turned the steering wheel to avoid it.

Just as the SUV was about to crash into her, a large vehicle rammed into the SUV from the side, knocking it away.

Because she could not turn the wheel in time, Chantelle’s car crashed into a lamp post. Her head hit the steering wheel hard. Warm liquid began to run down her forehead.

Chantelle touched it and realized it was blood.

It was really an unlucky day for Chantelle. How could she get into accidents twice in one day?

She grabbed a few tissues from the tissue box and pressed them against her forehead. Then she quickly got out of the car.

Just as she was about to run toward Daniel’s car, the SUV suddenly burst into flames.

The fire spread quickly in the direction of Daniel’s car.

Daniel had already passed out. His head rested against the airbag, and his face was covered in blood.

"Daniel... wake up..." Chantelle patted his face and unfastened his seat belt. She tried to pull him out of the car, but his leg was stuck.

The fire was growing bigger. Afraid the car would explode at any moment, Chantelle tried to drag Daniel out. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably.

I can’t let him die. I can’t let him die here.

Chantelle knew she had to save him no matter what. But she wasn’t strong enough. No matter how hard she pulled, she couldn’t move him.

"Go away! It’s going to explode soon!" Daniel slowly opened his eyes and saw Chantelle trying to save him, even though one of her arms had already been burned and injured.

Daniel pushed Chantelle away. "I don’t need your help."

"What are you doing? Don’t you know the car is going to explode and you’ll die? Why are you always so domineering? Why can’t you talk to me before you act? Do you think you’re so powerful? If you are, then get out of the car right now! Don’t just sit here waiting to die!"

Chantelle cried as tears streamed down her face.

Daniel wanted to wipe her tears, but he didn’t want her to stay there any longer. He didn’t want her to die with him.

"Get out of here! I don’t want to see your face at the last moment of my life!" Daniel shouted.

"No way! I’m going to stay with you no matter what. If you die, I die." Chantelle got into the passenger seat beside him.

Hearing that, Daniel was moved. He could no longer hide how he felt. He reached out and touched her hand.

"Let me try to pull my leg out a bit."

Only then did Chantelle let out a small laugh.

A few minutes later, a loud explosion burst behind them. With Chantelle’s help, Daniel finally got out of the car. He lay on the ground, completely exhausted.

"Let’s go. Stephanie is sick. She’s waiting for us to come home." Chantelle tried to stand.

"Don’t worry. Stephanie is fine. I told Kane to say that just to make you go back."

"See? You always do things your own way. You say it’s for my good, but you only end up hurting me."

Daniel looked at Chantelle for a long moment and said, "It’s my fault. I won’t do it again."

Chantelle woke up in Western Hill Villa and felt relieved when she saw the familiar surroundings.

"Chantie, you’re awake? Do you feel uncomfortable? Wait... I’ll call Russell." Thea had been sitting beside her bed. As soon as Chantelle opened her eyes, Thea hurried out to call Russell.

Russell came in instantly and examined Chantelle carefully. After checking her, he said, "Fortunately, you only have some bruises. Get some rest and you’ll be fine."

"Where is Stephanie? How is she?" Chantelle asked. She still remembered Kane saying Stephanie was sick. Even though Daniel admitted he used that to make her come back, Chantelle was still worried.

"Don’t worry. She’s fine. All the children are at school now," Russell replied. Then he removed the drip for her.

Hearing that, Chantelle let out a small sigh of relief. She looked at Thea, then glanced toward the door. For some reason, she felt a little disappointed.

"Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something? I’ll order takeout. How about your favorite restaurant?" Thea coughed a few times as she talked and positioned herself in front of Chantelle, blocking her view of the door.

Chantelle had no choice but to nod. Then she suddenly noticed Russell was wearing a suit.

Why is he wearing a suit at home?

Just as Russell saw Chantelle looking at him, Thea quickly pushed him toward the door. "He’s going on a blind date. It’s time for him to go."

"What about you?" Chantelle asked as she looked down at Thea’s shoes. Thea was wearing crystal high heels, but she had paired them with a long T-shirt. It looked awkward and out of place.

It was clear that Russell and Thea were hiding something. Russell seemed like he wanted to tell her, but Thea stopped him.

"Is today Daniel and Camille’s engagement day?" Chantelle asked. She knew that was the only reason they would hide things from her.

Realizing they couldn’t hide it anymore, Thea took an invitation card from the nightstand drawer. "Daniel invited all of us to his engagement party."
