Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 456: Are You Planning To Ruin The Party?
CHAPTER 456: CHAPTER 456: ARE YOU PLANNING TO RUIN THE PARTY?
Chantelle took the invitation and looked at it carefully. Daniel’s name was not printed on it. The card only stated that the event was to celebrate the engagement between the Wilson Group of Companies and the Nelsen family, starting at 12:30 p.m.
"Don’t bother about him. When you recover, we’ll go to parties ourselves. There are plenty of men out there. You can find a better one." Thea grabbed the invitation card and threw it into the trash.
Chantelle smiled. "Are you two planning to ruin the party?"
"They are too much! Daniel hasn’t even divorced you yet, and you saved his life yesterday. How could he still invite all of us to his engagement party? I really can’t stand it. I need to vent my anger at that party later!" Thea couldn’t hold back her tears. She was furious.
Chantelle looked at Russell. He only shrugged. "Well... since they sent us an invitation... it wouldn’t be polite not to go, right?"
"Then let’s go together," Chantelle said as she got out of bed and checked the time. It was only 9 a.m. There was still plenty of time before the party began.
Thea didn’t want Chantelle to force herself. She held Chantelle’s wrist and guided her back to the bed. "Why bother going to the party? We can go with you and help you ruin it to vent your anger. Don’t worry, we’ll record everything and show you later."
"Well, I don’t want to watch a video. I want to watch it live," Chantelle said with a smirk. She didn’t look upset at all.
Thea was stunned and stared at her, wondering if Chantelle was thinking clearly.
Chantelle patted Thea’s shoulder. "Don’t worry. I’m fine. Don’t look at me like that. By the way, do you have an extra dress I can borrow?"
"Actually, Daniel already prepared one for you." Russell took a bag from the corner of the room.
Chantelle looked inside the bag. There was a dress and some jewelry. The dress looked simple, but it was elegant and refined.
Thea couldn’t help but gasp. She was stunned.
"Chantie, isn’t this the dress you designed? Didn’t you say you couldn’t find a suitable fabric to make it? Oh wow, it’s so beautiful!"
Chantelle recognized it immediately. She had designed this dress herself. She had posted it online under Corrine’s name before and even asked her followers to recommend suitable fabrics.
She had tried making it with many different fabrics, but none of them turned out the way she wanted.
The design had been set aside for many years. Chantelle did not expect Daniel to use her design and make the dress for her. It looked exactly the way she had imagined it. All the flower embroidery was hand-stitched, so it must have taken at least a month to finish.
A month ago, Chantelle was still in Carcosa. She barely saw Daniel during that time.
"Chantie, let’s go to the salon now. You need to do your hair and make-up to match the dress. I guarantee you’ll be the most beautiful woman at the party today!" Thea said excitedly.
She could already imagine how stunning Chantelle would look in that dress.
Chantelle was definitely going to steal everyone’s attention at the party.
Thea quickly booked the best hairstylist and makeup artist in Easthan. The engagement party was grand. Daniel had invited almost all the wealthy families in Easthan, along with several movie stars.
Time was running out, so it was hard to get good stylists. The salon Thea called was one of the top ones in the city. Fortunately, they agreed to take Chantelle right away because they had worked with Thea a few times before.
Two hours later, Daniel was standing at the entrance, waiting for the guests together with Stephanie, Kane, and Railer. As each guest arrived, they bowed and shook hands with him.
It was the first time Daniel personally greeted guests. He didn’t even do that at Wesley’s birthday party. It made everyone think he really liked Camille.
However, the three children drew the most attention. People had only heard that Daniel reunited with his children and that two of them looked like him. But no one had seen them in person.
Daniel made the kids stand at the entrance on purpose. He wanted everyone to know he had found all his children.
"Daddy, why isn’t Mommy here yet?" Kane asked. He was getting impatient. If Daniel hadn’t promised to make up with Chantelle, the children wouldn’t be standing there welcoming guests one by one.
"The most beautiful woman has to be the last to arrive," Daniel said. He had written 12:30 p.m. on Chantelle’s invitation on purpose. He wanted her to show up last and become the center of attention.
Most of the guests had already arrived. Daniel quietly let out a breath. At least the children helped him greet almost everyone.
With a serious expression, Daniel walked past the guests and headed straight to the backyard.
At that moment, Ashton came in through the back door. He followed Daniel to a hidden corner and told him what he had found.
"Joseph blamed everything on Fred. Fred denied it at first, but he eventually admitted it. Joseph is on his way to the villa now. It seems he wants to come back officially today."
Daniel nodded when he heard that. A faint smirk formed on his lips. Joseph’s company had been dragged down because of Fred. It would be impossible for his business to recover in the next three to five years.
Because of that, Joseph was determined to take back the Wilson Group of Companies no matter what. He planned to use Wesley’s will as his excuse.
"Where did he get the invitation card?"
"He went to see Camille the day before yesterday and promised he would take Mrs. Wilson away as long as she gave him the invitation card," Ashton said without lifting his head. He knew Daniel would be furious hearing that.
Daniel was emotionally unstable. His moods shifted quickly, especially when it came to Chantelle.
"Let him come and take him to Camille when he arrives," Daniel said. His face darkened.
After a moment, he finally calmed down. He looked around and reminded Ashton before leaving, "Stay alert tonight. I don’t want anything to happen."
He did not want another incident like yesterday. Even if the explosion was an accident, he still believed it had something to do with the peace talisman in Chantelle’s possession.
"Mr. Wilson, Ms. Nelsen is here!" a servant called out, looking for Daniel.
Daniel nodded. He looked at Railer, Stephanie, and Kane at the entrance and gave them a small smile before walking back into the living room.
