CHAPTER 463: CHAPTER 463: OLD MR. WILSON’S WILL

Chantelle’s heart ached seeing him in pain. Tears streamed down Steve’s face as he said in a trembling voice, "Liz, I’m sorry you suffered so much..."

"What happened?" Daniel rushed in. He quickly found the heart medication in Steve’s pocket, helped him take it, and called the medical team to bring a stretcher.

"Grandpa!" The Nelsen brothers arrived right after Chantelle’s message. They looked at Chantelle, then their expressions changed when they heard a noise from the nearby room.

The medical team quickly brought a stretcher and prepared to take Steve to the hospital, but he grabbed Chantelle’s sleeve and refused to let go.

Chantelle let out a soft sigh and said, "It’s alright. I’ll go to the hospital with Old Mr. Nelsen."

Rowan nodded and glanced at Daniel. Daniel’s expression did not change. He asked Philip to go along so he could tend to Chantelle’s back injury.

Before Chantelle left, she glanced at Daniel’s right leg and said, "You should take care of yourself, too. Sit down if you’re feeling unwell."

Daniel gave a small smile and nodded. "I thought you would be able to enjoy the show. I’m sorry."

Rowan frowned and told Oscar to stay. Camille was still family, and someone had to speak for the Nelsen family once the scandal was exposed. Steve had always favored her, and he would be devastated if they didn’t at least try to protect her.

After Chantelle, Philip, Rowan, and the medical team left with Steve on the stretcher, Daniel’s expression turned cold. He pushed open the door to the room. At that moment, reporters rushed inside, snapping photos of the two people on the bed and throwing questions at them.

"Ms. Nelsen, can you tell us who this man is with you? Why did this happen on your engagement day?"

"Ms. Nelsen, did you sleep with this man because Mr. Wilson rejected you?"

"Sir, who are you? Why are you here?"

However, neither Joseph nor Camille paid attention to the reporters. Camille had drugged both of them with a large dose of aphrodisiac strong enough to cause hallucinations.

She had gone all out to make sure she would end up with Daniel, but she didn’t realize the man she was with was not Daniel. She was with Joseph. Joseph, meanwhile, believed he was with Chantelle.

Under the influence of the drug, the two of them continued without shame, completely unaware of the people in the room.

Embarrassed, Daniel grabbed a blanket and covered them to block the reporters’ view.

Even though the pair on the bed didn’t respond to anything, the reporters still kept taking pictures. If Daniel hadn’t stopped them, they would have lifted the blanket to take more.

Seeing that the situation wasn’t going to end on its own, Daniel finally ordered his bodyguards to remove the reporters from the room. After leaving the room, he closed the door.

The reporters tried to get more answers from him, since he didn’t seem shaken by what they had just seen. "Mr. Wilson, what do you think about this situation?"

Another reporter asked, "Mr. Wilson, now that you’ve seen Ms. Nelsen with another man, what will you do about your relationship with the Nelsen family?"

Daniel frowned and gave the reporters a cold look. They immediately fell silent. He spoke slowly. "If they are in love, they have my blessings."

A reporter stepped forward and asked, "There have been rumors online saying that Ms. Nelsen is your fiancée. She even publicly professed her love for you. Does what happened just now change how you feel about her?"

"I think there has been a misunderstanding regarding who Ms. Nelsen’s fiancé is and who she loves. There will be an explanation soon," Daniel said. Then he walked back toward the banquet hall, with the reporters hurrying to follow him.

The music had stopped in the banquet hall, and everyone at the party was waiting for something to happen.

Daniel entered the hall and immediately captured everyone’s attention. They were all waiting for him to explain what had just happened involving the Wilson family.

Calm and composed, Daniel walked to the stage and took the microphone. "I would like to make an important announcement."

He looked toward a man standing to the right side of the stage. The man was dressed in a suit and wearing a mask, but the burn scars on his face were clearly visible.

The man climbed onto the stage and took out an envelope. He spoke to Daniel and to everyone in the hall. "My name is Dennis Hughes, and I have Old Mr. Wilson’s will in this envelope. The will clearly states that ten percent of his shares in the Wilson Group of Companies are to be given to his grandson, Joseph Wilson."

Everyone was shocked. Everyone knew that Old Mr. Wilson had personally chosen his favorite daughter’s husband. But later, he disliked that son-in-law so much that he once even threatened to kick Dennis out of the family.

The fire that killed his daughter had also severely burned Dennis’s face. After that, Dennis kept a low profile and did not even attend Old Mr. Wilson’s funeral.

There had always been a rumor that Daniel started the fire to secure the inheritance. People had heard of similar stories in wealthy families.

Now, seeing Dennis on stage holding Old Mr. Wilson’s will, everyone became even more convinced of the rumor and began to worry for Dennis. If Daniel really was responsible, Dennis might be in danger again.

Dennis glared at Daniel, which only deepened everyone’s suspicions. He chose to reveal the will today because he needed to stop Daniel from denying it.

Even though he had been angry when he saw Joseph with Camille, Dennis thought it was the perfect chance to gain the Nelsen family’s support. With their backing, he believed he could easily take over the Wilson Group of Companies.

So he chose to take advantage of the situation and make it big. But to his surprise, Daniel didn’t seem affected at all by his announcement.

Instead, Daniel smiled and pulled out an envelope of his own. He opened it slowly while looking at Dennis. "I also have a will from Grandpa."

Dennis’s heart sank. What was going on? Was the old man playing games with them? Did he leave something behind that would allow Daniel to refuse giving him his share?

He had waited so many years for the Wilson Group of Companies to grow to this level. He had to get his share today, no matter what.
