Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 464: Daddy, Don’t Scare My Fans Away
CHAPTER 464: CHAPTER 464: DADDY, DON’T SCARE MY FANS AWAY
"The will states that the Wilson family and the Nelsen family had agreed that the two families would be joined by marriage. But since Daniel Wilson is already married, the other heir of the Wilson Group of Companies, Joseph Wilson, must marry someone from the Nelsen family. If Joseph refuses, he will lose his right to inherit the family wealth."
Daniel read the will calmly. He even looked a bit relieved. Dennis was pleased when he heard it. Everything was going exactly as he had planned. He silently thanked the old man for finally doing something right.
"I believe everyone has seen how much Joseph and Ms. Nelsen are in love with each other, so I’ll leave the engagement party arrangements to Dennis," Daniel said, then left with his bodyguards.
Daniel walked away just like that, leaving Dennis alone on stage to face the guests and reporters. Unlike Daniel, Dennis did not come from a wealthy family, and he was not raised the way Daniel was. No matter how much he tried, he could never be as confident and charming as Daniel because their backgrounds were completely different.
In the past, Wesley Wilson had personally taken Dennis under his wing and taught him how to socialize with the upper class. However, Dennis had always felt inferior, and that feeling turned into resentment. He hated Old Mr. Wilson for embarrassing him in front of wealthy people.
Old Mr. Wilson had never been fond of Dennis’ personality or behavior. But his beloved daughter was deeply in love with Dennis and refused to marry anyone else. In the end, he gave in and allowed their marriage. However, once Dennis’ hidden intentions were exposed, Old Mr. Wilson barred him from having anything to do with the company. That only made Dennis’ hatred toward him grow even stronger.
Now, Dennis stood on stage facing the crowd. Their expressions were a mix of confusion, ridicule, and even disdain. It felt exactly like it had back then, when he was still living with the Wilsons and everyone had looked down on him.
He narrowed his eyes at the audience and felt the urge to tear their eyes out so they would stop looking at him that way. The reporters turned their cameras toward him, capturing the wild look on his face.

After leaving the building, Daniel headed straight to the hospital. He was worried about leaving his wife with the Nelsen siblings for too long.
"Daddy, we stayed in the room with Old Mr. Nelsen the entire day, just like you asked. Can you really take Mommy home now?" Kane asked. There was a bit of doubt in his voice. Daniel had brought all three children with him.
"Of course." A faint, amused smile appeared on Daniel’s face. "If you three didn’t need to watch Old Mr. Nelsen, we would’ve already been enjoying lunch together."
"The old man was so sneaky. He said he was going to the bathroom, but he tried to sneak off somewhere else," Kane complained as his lips pursed in frustration.
Daniel lightly pinched his cheek and let out a small laugh. "It seems you underestimated the enemy, Kane."
Kane looked conflicted for a moment, then finally lowered his head. "Alright. I trusted that old man too much," he admitted.
Old Mr. Nelsen had seemed warm and playful, and that had made them let their guard down. When he asked to go to the bathroom, none of them had thought twice about it.
"We’re all responsible for that. We’ll help you bring Mommy back later," Railer said. He could already tell what his father was planning just by looking at him, something Kane had not learned to do yet.
Steph was sitting in a corner, memorizing her script. She didn’t pay any attention to the boys’ conversation.
Daniel, who always doted on his daughter, pulled her gently closer and asked, "How long will the shoot take?"
Steph frowned. "It was supposed to take two months. But one of the actresses had an emergency, and now the director can’t find someone to replace her. I have a lot of scenes with her, so I can’t film anything right now," she complained.
"What kind of actress are you looking for? I can help you find one," Daniel offered. It would not be difficult for him.
Steph shook her head quickly. "I already have someone in mind," she said with a small, mischievous smile. "I’ll tell you once it’s confirmed."
"Alright. Just remember, you can talk to me about anything, honey. I’ll always help you," Daniel replied while affectionately ruffling her hair.
Steph nodded and continued studying her script.
By the time Daniel and his children arrived at the hospital, it was already past lunchtime, and the kids were starving.
Daniel brought them to the hospital cafeteria for a simple meal and ordered takeout for Chantelle as well.
"Daddy, aren’t you going to get food for Uncle Rowan, Uncle Oscar, and Uncle Alex? They must be hungry too," Kane asked. He became close to Alexander Nelsen during their stay in Carcosa and he really liked him.
Daniel’s expression showed his displeasure at the suggestion. "I’m not a food delivery guy. I don’t go around buying takeout for everyone."
"But if you don’t get food for them, Mommy won’t eat either," Kane reminded him.
Daniel knew Kane was right. Left with no choice, he told the server to pack three more meals. His irritated look made the server flinch.
The server only relaxed when Steph smiled sweetly at him, and he recognized her right away. "I’m a huge fan of yours, Steph! Can I have your autograph?" he asked, gathering the courage.
Steph signed a serviette for him. Even though she was young, she had already been trained to perfect her signature.
"Could we take a photo too?" the server asked carefully, trying to avoid Daniel’s eyes.
"Of course!" Steph beamed.
The server happily walked toward her and was about to pick her up for the photo when Daniel shot him a sharp warning look.
"Daddy! Don’t scare my fans away!" Steph scolded him lightly.
Daniel’s expression softened. "Alright, alright. I’m sorry, honey."
He then offered to take the photo for them.
"Mr. Wilson, I saw Mrs. Wilson here not long ago," the server said after the photo was taken. Daniel might look cold and distant, but he was nowhere near as heartless as the media made him out to be. So the server decided to share what he saw.
"Here? Who was she with?" Daniel raised an eyebrow. He did not need to guess to know she was probably with the Nelsen brothers.
Their grandfather was critically ill, yet they still had the mood to go out and eat? Unbelievable.
