CHAPTER 114: 114, CANNOT HAVE A BABY WITH THE MAN I LOVE THE MOST

, just like before, Nathan Moore sat on the living room sofa working on his laptop.

All morning, Olivia Zane had been observing Nathan Moore carefully, his reactions were both within expectations and a bit surprising.

Nathan’s compliance with her started when he was just in his teens.

When they started dating, once she accidentally uttered a swear word, he lectured her for many days.

But today his reaction was overly calm, somehow abnormal.

"What’s the matter? Is there something dirty on my face? If you keep staring, you’ll poke a hole through it." Nathan Moore continued working on his computer, his expression indifferent, not even lifting his gaze, but he still felt the intense stare fixed on his face.

Caught off guard by Nathan’s discovery, Olivia Zane felt a bit embarrassed but said with a laugh, "You’re good-looking."

"Yeah, I know, otherwise you wouldn’t have followed me at sixteen." Nathan said casually, making Olivia Zane blush, and at the same time, her heart felt sweet; he still remembered, she was with him since she was sixteen.

"You still remember, huh? I had forgotten." Olivia Zane playfully wrinkled her nose, her coy appearance particularly charming.

But Nathan Moore was still focused on his computer and didn’t see her reaction.

A slight sigh escaped her, her expression touched with a bit of reminiscence.

"You’re always so scatterbrained."

A resigned sigh, filled more with his indulgence and doting towards Olivia Zane.

"Yeah, so you have to take care of me for a lifetime." Olivia Zane wheeled herself over, her face tilted upwards with a hint of wilfulness.

Nathan Moore lifted his gaze from the computer and looked at Olivia Zane, his dark eyes slightly bewildered.

"What’s wrong?" Seeing Nathan looking at her distractedly, Olivia Zane felt a rush of panic.

Nathan came back to his senses, his thin lips slightly upturned, "It’s nothing."

"You haven’t agreed to me yet." Olivia Zane pouted playfully.

"What?"

The panic in Olivia Zane’s heart grew, but still smiling, she feigned displeasure and pouted, "You have to provide for me for a lifetime!"

Nathan Moore stared at Olivia Zane, a few seconds passed, and just when Olivia Zane’s heart began to sink little by little, he finally spoke.

"Okay." The gentle word spilled from his slightly raised thin lips, filled with deep affection.

Titus Zane had just reached the second floor when he heard the conversation between the two, standing at the bend in the staircase, touching the banister, his slender fingers unconsciously tightening, he turned around and proceeded upstairs.

On Friday, Ariana Evans called Titus Zane and asked her out for coffee.

It was actually a mother’s longing for her daughter.

Almost a month had passed, and Titus Zane hadn’t gone back home, typically Nathan Moore would accompany Olivia Zane back to her parents’ home on weekends and would bring her along.

But ever since she felt unwell that one time and declined, they hadn’t invited her again.

And usually, Nathan Moore wouldn’t allow her to go back alone, so when she missed her mother, they would go shopping or have a coffee together.

Titus Zane had indescribable feelings toward her own father.

With her, although he wouldn’t scold, he also wouldn’t be close.

In Titus Zane’s memory, every day after school, the house would be filled with laughter, and she could even clearly hear her father’s laughter through the door, but as soon as she entered the house, her father’s smile would vanish, replaced by an authority she couldn’t understand, and a bit... of impatience.

As a child, seeing her younger sister always sitting on their father’s knee, Titus Zane tried to do the same by climbing onto his lap, although her father didn’t like her sitting on his lap, he wouldn’t scold her.

It wasn’t until one time, on my sister’s birthday, she wanted to sit on our father’s lap to blow out her birthday candles.

So on her own birthday, she also asked to sit on our father’s lap, but after being refused, little Titus Zane stubbornly tried to climb onto our father’s lap, only to be grabbed under her armpits by him and tossed down forcefully.

Titus Zane remembers not crying at that moment, staring at our father’s retreating figure as he got up and left. Even at her young age, she told herself not to try to win the affection of those who didn’t care for her.

"What’s wrong, Titus?" Seeing that Titus Zane was zoning out, Ariana Evans looked over with concern.

Titus Zane came back to reality and gave her mother a slight smile, "It’s nothing."

But Ariana Evans grabbed her daughter’s wrist, showing tenderness as well as pity and care on her face.

"Titus, mom knows you’ve been through a lot. Olivia is still young and can be quite willful sometimes, but she is your sister. Try to be more patient with her,"

"Mom, I..."

Just as Titus Zane was about to speak, Ariana Evans interrupted her, gently patting the back of her hand and speaking with deep emotion.

"Titus, there’s something I’ve been keeping from you, because I didn’t want you to feel guilty."

"Mom, what is it?" Seeing her mother’s earnest expression, Titus Zane suddenly had a bad premonition.

"Actually..." Ariana Evans hesitated, just having started to speak, then looked down and gripped her coffee cup as if weighing how to begin.

Titus Zane’s face tensed up, gripping her own coffee cup tightly and staring intently at her mother’s face.

Then she saw Ariana Evans raise her gaze, the corners of her lips barely curling into a strained smile.

"Actually, since the accident, Olivia has lost the right to be a woman."

"What?" Titus Zane’s bad premonition grew stronger, her fingers turning white from the grip on the coffee cup handle.

"She can’t have intercourse or bear children, so, as her sister, just bear with her occasional temper tantrums a bit more."

"Mom! Why did this happen!" Titus Zane’s brow furrowed as her heart felt like it was being tightly squeezed, making it hard to breathe.

Ariana Evans smiled weakly and said, "Olivia was severely injured after falling down the stairs,"

As she spoke, Ariana Evans paused for a moment before continuing.

"Do you know why your father dotes on Olivia more?"

"I don’t know." Titus Zane shook her head unconsciously.

"Because Olivia was not very healthy since she was a child. When I was pregnant with her, I had some health issues, spent many days in the hospital receiving IV treatment, so..."

Ariana Evans paused again, holding her coffee cup as though reliving the past she was reluctant to bring up.

"Little did we expect that Olivia would be born weak and had to be observed in a sterile room for over three months... That’s why your father is so partial to her."

At this point, Ariana Evans gave a bitter smile, then went back to addressing the topic at hand.

"So, after that incident, the functions of various organs in her body were weakened due to medication, and henceforth, she won’t be able to have children for the man she loves the most..."

Walking down the street, Titus Zane felt somewhat dazed, her mother’s words echoing in her ears—Olivia was severely hurt by the accident, she couldn’t be with a man, couldn’t bear children for the man she loved the most...

Suddenly, Titus Zane raised her hand and slapped herself across the face.

"Titus Zane, how could you be so malicious! You really should die!"

"Damn it! Suicidal, aren’t you! Don’t you look where you’re going!" Lost in thought, Titus Zane had wandered onto the vehicle lane when a sedan swerved to the side, and through the window now rolling down appeared a plump, round head.

"I’m sorry." Titus Zane apologetically curved her lips.
