Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 119, Strangers who pass by each other
CHAPTER 119: 119, STRANGERS WHO PASS BY EACH OTHER
Titus Zane left, and not only did Logan Ray not chase after him, Nathan Moore, who had been talking with business friends, did not pursue either.
A woman both obsessed and unrelenting should just face rejection.
Titus Zane stumbled out of the hotel, raising her hand to hail a taxi back to the villa.
Sitting in the taxi, Titus Zane’s heart was in turmoil.
Logan Ray said that they were not that close and also said that her blessings were not sincere...
She loved him so deeply, how could she truly bless him being with another woman?
Even Felix Shaw’s fiancée, Mia Foster, who had only met a few times, watching Logan Ray greeting friends everywhere holding Ava Charles’s hand, cared enough to ask, "Are you okay?"
In the past, she always harbored fantasies about Logan Ray, now, those fantasies had finally shattered, and from now on, she would never harbor any illusions about anyone or anything.
Looking out the car window, before she knew it, tears had already covered her face.
The driver, looking through the rearview mirror, asked concerned,
"Miss, are you alright?"
Rushing out of the hotel in a formal dress obviously indicated she was at a banquet.
"It’s nothing, thank you," Titus Zane raised her hand to wipe her tears, but they flowed uncontrollably like a breached dam.
The driver looked again in the rearview mirror, "What happened, Miss? Did the man you like get engaged to another woman?" That’s how it’s always portrayed on TV.
Titus Zane sobbed and then denied it.
"No, I just received news of a relative’s death while at the banquet...
At this, Titus Zane simply covered her mouth with her hand and cried out loud.
From now on, Logan Ray would truly be just someone she passed by.
"Miss, don’t be too sad. Birth, aging, sickness, and death are all predestined; no one can change them. You should mourn moderately," said the driver.
Seeing such a beautiful person crying so sadly, the driver couldn’t bear it and thus offered a few more words of comfort.
"I know..." Titus Zane covered her mouth, her voice muffled and unclear.
"Oh, the engagement party ended so early? That can’t be," seeing Titus Zane appear at the entrance of the hall, Olivia Zane pretended to look at the time on her wristwatch before speaking in a strange tone.
Feeling upset, Titus Zane really didn’t want to argue with Olivia Zane, so she pretended not to hear and ran up the stairs, lifting her skirt.
Watching Titus Zane flee in panic, Olivia Zane slowly curved her lips upward, gritting her teeth and said,
"Titus Zane, you’ve finally gotten your comeuppance!"
Just as Titus Zane returned to her room, the house phone in the hall rang.
Olivia Zane wheeled over and grabbed it, her voice sweet and tender.
"Hello, you’re good..." Recognizing it was Titus Zane’s voice, Olivia Zane immediately changed her tone.
"Are you sick, calling within the house!"
"Help me ask Aunt Liu to bring up a few bottles of red wine," said Titus Zane.
In the phone, Titus Zane’s voice was a bit hoarse; Olivia Zane curved her lips, about to tease her again, but then, with a change of eyes, agreed smilingly.
"Alright, seeing that you were dumped by Logan Ray, which is quite pitiful, I’ll relay the message."
Olivia Zane hung up the phone and shouted towards the kitchen,
"Aunt Liu, take a few bottles of red wine up to Titus Zane!"
Aunt Liu hurriedly ran out from the kitchen, continuously wiping her hands on her apron.
"Madam, what did you say?"
"I said, take a few more bottles of red wine up to Titus Zane!" Olivia Zane repeated impatiently.
