CHAPTER 230: 226, TITUS ZANE’S DECISION

,"Carry, what do you think she wants to deceive you of? Seduction? She’s a woman!

As for money, I’ve already investigated. The Zane Family’s properties are all over the world. What you earn in a year isn’t even enough to cover her beauty maintenance at the salon."

Jon said ungraciously, Titus Zane shifted his gaze and turned to look at him.

"So, her words are very credible?"

"They should be." Jon nodded thoughtfully,

In the café, Jon and Titus Zane were still sitting in the same seats where they had met Abigail Zimmerman last time, an hour had passed, and there was still no sign of her.

Jon suddenly realized he had made a major mistake by forgetting to ask for Abigail’s phone number.

After drinking two more cups of coffee, and still no sight of Abigail, Jon stood up, deciding to go back to her residence.

The car stopped in front of the quadrangle courtyard door, Jon asked Titus Zane to wait in the car, got out alone, and knocked on the door of Abigail’s house once again.

He knocked for a long time, but no one came out to open the door.

After thinking for a while, Jon went to the neighboring quadrangle courtyard and knocked on the door.

Soon after, an old lady appeared and opened the door, quite surprised to see a foreigner at her doorstep.

"Hello, ma’am, may I ask, where has your neighbor gone?"

Jon asked in fluent Chinese.

The old lady poked her head out, looked in the direction Jon was pointing, and said with a smile, "Are you talking about Abigail? Her husband took her to stay at the compound, she just asked me to help look after the house."

"Thank you, ma’am." Jon thanked her politely and returned to the car.

"How did it go?" Just as Jon had a foot inside, Titus Zane asked anxiously.

"She moved to the compound." Jon closed the car door, his handsome face becoming serious.

Titus Zane didn’t say anything.

Although he didn’t know exactly what "the compound" was, he understood its superficial meaning; Abigail was avoiding them, even ready to move elsewhere to do so.

"Things are getting more interesting." Staring ahead, Jon’s azure eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips.

"What do you mean?" Titus Zane asked, not understanding.

Jon turned his handsome face towards him, "Can’t you see? Someone doesn’t want her to contact us."

Titus Zane...

He thought he had been deceived by Abigail, but it turns out that the real situation was like this.

"Let’s go, back to the hotel." Jon spoke to the driver in Chinese, the driver started the engine, and the black car turned around, heading back the way they came.

Titus Zane greatly admired Jon’s strong mental resilience; despite pressing matters, he was casually picking out food at the buffet area, plate in one hand, tongs in another.

He picked a meal plate, placed it on the table, then folded back to continue selecting.

Titus Zane wasn’t in the mood anymore.

Previously, when he hadn’t taken it seriously, he didn’t care. During the day, Abigail’s reaction was too intense; she interrupted him unpleasantly before he could even mention his father’s name, suggesting a deep grievance between Abigail and his father.

Titus Zane didn’t care whose daughter he was; nurtured rather than born, no matter who his birth mother was, after all, Ariana Evans had raised him.

But Abigail said that his mother Ariana Evans was the murderer who killed his birth mother...

If what Abigail said was true, then regardless of whether his birth mother raised him or not, he must investigate this matter thoroughly and not let a murderer escape the law.

So, Titus Zane made a decision, since Abigail had moved to the compound, he would go there to find her and confront the issue once and for all.
