CHAPTER 236: 232, HAVE A GOOD TALK

Exiting the roast duck restaurant, Titus Zane hastened from a brisk walk into a jog, grabbing Jon’s wrist and sprinting forward.

"Hey, carry! Hey, hey!" Jon intentionally lagged behind, being pulled by Titus, "Stop, calm down, stop, he didn’t come out after us."

The words from Jon behind her had an effect, and Titus stopped jogging, still looking back with a face full of shock, her pale cheeks losing color due to nervousness.

Colt Thornton was far away in F city, she didn’t expect to encounter him in Capital City.

Returning to the hotel, Titus locked herself in her room, even having dinner delivered directly to her room.

Jon did not come to disturb her again, unknowingly off to somewhere else.

The flight back to T city was at 8 o’clock the next morning; Titus set an alarm on her phone, waking to its ring just after 4 o’clock.

Getting up from the bed, leaning in front of it, her eyes bleary, she rubbed her sore neck. She had been sleeping poorly, drinking a bit of red wine, and only managed to fall into a fitful sleep after 2 am.

The blanket felt heavy, as if something was pressing down on it. A premonition flashed through her brain, and Titus abruptly opened her eyes.

Seeing the man on the large bed, still deep in conversation with Duke Zhou, she yelled out in displeasure.

"Jon!"

At some point, Jon had stealthily climbed onto Titus’s bed, wrapped in a one-piece robe, wearing a nightcap, halfway lying next to her fresh from sleep, the two of them under one cotton blanket.

Startled by Titus’s roar, Jon reached up to dig at his ear but didn’t open his eyes, his voice hoarse with sleep.

"No need to shout, I can hear you..."

Titus...

Was it that she slept too soundly or was Jon too cautious? He had managed to climb into her bed several times without her noticing at all.

"Get up, we need to talk." Titus reached out to pull at the shoulder of Jon’s gown, her tone cool, like her expression at that moment.

He was a private detective she had hired, true, but their relationship was merely an employer-employee one, not intimate enough to share a bed.

Titus felt that it was necessary to have a thorough talk with Jon, to remind him not to sneak into her room again.

"Carry, let me sleep a little longer," Jon said, clutching the pillow, turned his face to the other side, showing only the back of his head to Titus. It was unclear whether he was too groggy to realize he was in her bed or simply didn’t mind.

Titus felt she could not possibly have a normal conversation with a man as whimsical as Jon, folding her arms across her chest, watching Jon sleep soundly, her chest heaving with irritation.

Suddenly, she threw off the blanket and got out of bed, heading towards the bathroom; if he liked to sleep in her bed so much, she might as well leave it to him.

Titus decided, she would go on the flight alone, leaving Jon behind, not caring about him!

She

What Titus didn’t see was that, as she stormed into the bathroom in a huff, on the large bed, the soundly sleeping Jon curled his lips into a smile.

Ultimately, Titus didn’t get her wish to leave Jon behind; at some point, Jon had packed his suitcase and pulled it into her room. When checking out at the front desk, Jon was standing behind her; only then did Titus belatedly realize that he had checked out of his own room the previous night...

On the plane to T city, Titus wore an eye mask, crossed her arms, and leaned back in her chair, utterly ignoring Jon.

"...Carry, it wasn’t on purpose, you know, my funds are limited, to save money... that’s why I checked out early..."

Hmph! Titus couldn’t help but scoff in her heart; limited funds? Saving money? This coming from the guy who hands out gifts worth tens of millions!

If such a person claimed to have limited funds, then she must be downright poor!
