CHAPTER 240: 236, NO NEED TO THANK ME BETWEEN YOU AND ME.
,
Titus Zane just smiled, neither agreeing nor disagreeing with Evander Lancaster’s words.
Evander raised his glass, "Come on, sister, let me drink with you!"
This man, when he said he’d change how he addressed her, he really did it quickly. Just a moment ago, he was calling her "sister-in-law", and now it’s "sister".
Titus Zane is a few months older than Nathan Moore, and Nathan Moore is older than Evander Lancaster, so this form of address makes sense.
"You chat with the beautiful sister; I’m going to sing." Beatrice Hargrave got up, took the microphone, and started singing with the music on the stage.
"Thank you." Titus Zane raised his glass, and when she smiled, there was always an unintentional charm.
After a sip of red wine, Evander still holding his glass looked at Titus Zane and said, "Sister, you’ve become more beautiful than before, there must be a lineup of men chasing after you now."
Tonight, Titus Zane was dressed in Savannah attire, seemingly fond of this brand.
A beige top paired with dark wide-leg pants, topped by a few centimeters of heels, accentuated her originally long legs, making them appear even more slender and straight.
Wearing a shawl over the outfit, she appeared noble, generous, yet with a laziness unique to women, which was very different from her aura three years ago. Like an elegant Persian cat, she inadvertently revealed her charm.
"No men would chase after an old woman like me." Titus Zane laughed self-deprecatingly, her eyes curving seductively as she smiled.
Subconsciously, Evander glanced at Nathan Moore, who was holding his glass and looking over with a light smile and affectionate eyes, already seeming captivated.
Turning his gaze back, Evander said with a smile, "How could there be no one? Look at Nathan, his eyes are glued."
This was another comment that Titus Zane couldn’t respond to; she licked her lips and took a shallow sip of red wine to hide her discomfort.
"Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore, if we keep it going, Nathan might devour me!" Evander sighed, stood up, and returned to the two men.
Nathan Moore’s eyes kept uncontrollably darting towards Titus Zane, and Nicholas Croft, since Beatrice stood on the stage, had his heart and gaze entirely attracted there.
Evander took a sip of red wine and before placing the glass down, he bumped Nathan Moore’s shoulder, whispering, "Why doesn’t Nathan seize such a good opportunity?"
Turning back, Nathan Moore looked at Evander with a somewhat slow reaction.
Giving him a light glance, Evander shook his head and sighed.
"Hopelessly incorrigible."
Normally, Nathan Moore might have been upset and coldly scolded him a few words, but now, it felt like his heart harbored a little bird, wings outstretched and eager to leap out of his chest, searching for its own vast skies.
Giving Evander a fleeting look under his disdainful expression, Nathan gulped down his glass of red wine in one go and then stood up, walking towards the corner where Titus Zane was.
"How’s everything going? Have the results come out?" Before sitting down, Nathan Moore brought up the matter at hand.
Titus Zane looked up at him, her eyes moving as Nathan Moore sat down.
"Not yet, we have to wait another day."
"Is there anything else you need help with?" Nathan asked as he sat down next to Titus Zane.
"No need, thank you." Titus Zane faintly curved her lips, forming a gentle smile.
"Between you and me, there’s no need for thanks," Nathan Moore said, his dark eyes unwavering from Titus Zane’s face, his handsome features appearing gentle under the soft lights.
