Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride

CHAPTER 345: 341, NATHAN MOORE, OUR FRIENDSHIP DOES NOT SEEM VERY DEEP.
"Bastard!" Abigail Zimmerman angrily slapped the coffee table, her chest heaving under her coat.
"Julian Zane! You bastard, not only did you cause Nicole’s death, but now you’ve driven her daughter out of the house too. Did Nicole risk her life to fight for your empire all for you to let another woman enjoy it?"
Watching Abigail Zimmerman’s agitated demeanor, Jon slightly narrowed his blue eyes, the corners of his lips unconsciously curled up, a smirk of triumph.
However, it turns out, Jon’s thoughts were too naive.
He had thought that by mentioning Titus Zane’s current predicament to Abigail Zimmerman, it might evoke her compassion and yield valuable information; instead, after venting, she turned to him and coldly said, "Titus Zane is a descendant of the Zane Family. We will handle her affairs. And, I advise you to stop poking into Nicole’s matters or you risk burning yourself without time to regret it!"
With those words, Abigail Zimmerman pulled out two large bills from her wallet, slapped them on the table, and left.
Watching her departing figure, Jon pinched the handle of his coffee cup and slowly sipped.
Although Abigail did not reveal much, Jon caught an important piece of information; Julian Zane’s empire was built by Nicole Zane, which implies... could it be that Nicole risked everything to illegally deal in arms just for him?
Setting down his coffee cup, Jon realized that it was he who had been going around in circles. Perhaps starting the investigation with Julian Zane might lead to a breakthrough.
...
When Titus Zane saw Nathan Moore standing before her, she was stunned.
Sitting in her office chair, in an unsettled posture, she looked up at the man in a suit and involuntarily spoke.
"You... how are you here?"
Before she spoke, Nathan Moore raised his eyebrows, his dark charming eyes slightly lifting, captivating as he stretched an arm across Titus Zane’s desk, leaning forward slightly with an overwhelming presence.
"After over a month as a CEO assistant, haven’t you even learned to remain calm in unexpected situations?"
Titus Zane...
was struck silent by Nathan Moore’s words, more out of shock at this man’s sudden appearance.
Her lips twitched, surprised, the European charm in her eyes became more evident, "Are you looking to arrange a meeting with Director Foley, asking me to pass the message?"
That was the biggest possibility Titus Zane could think of. Wesley Foley as a CEO wouldn’t meet with just anyone without an appointment, and since Nathan Moore had no business dealings with the company and wasn’t familiar with Wesley Foley, it was unlikely he could meet Foley merely based on his own high status.
The bridge of her nose felt a twinge of pain as Nathan Moore’s well-defined fingers pinched it, gently twisting, and his thin lips harboring a whisper, "Could it not be that I wanted to see you?"
A tone of resignation yet evidently doting.
Titus Zane...
was dumbfounded, gazing at the man whose eyes and expression were tender; she licked her lips and opened her mouth.
"Nathan Moore, our acquaintance does not seem that deep..."
"Hmm?" Nathan Moore frowned, a devilishly handsome man, even feigning displeasure when in a good mood was eye-catching.
Amidst Titus Zane’s puzzled gaze, his figure suddenly leaned forward; his handsome face approached hers, causing Titus instinctively leaned back.
But with her back against the chair, even if she wanted to avoid him, there was nowhere to hide, just seeing that man, with a smile that was not quite a smile, his thin lips slowly moving, he said, "Not deep?"
In Titus Zane’s confused eyes, Nathan Moore sighed with slight irritation, "But each time, I can never gauge the depth."
