Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride

CHAPTER 365: 361, IT’S HARD TO SEE WESLEY FOLEY BEING SO ATTENTIVE WITH IMPLIED MEANING.
Titus Zane emphasized with confusion, "Director Foley, I am your assistant," not a student. Shouldn’t I have my salary deducted for being late or leaving early at the company? How come it turns into writing a self-criticism report with Wesley Foley?
Wesley Foley straightened his body, leaning back in his large office chair, his gentle face bearing a thinly veiled smile.
"As the CEO’s assistant, absent from work without any reason and refusing to answer the CEO’s call, do you realize how much damage your disregard for your superiors has caused the company?"
Titus Zane...
Wesley Foley called her? And she refused to answer?
She quickly took out her phone, and in front of Wesley Foley, started to scroll through the call log...
The record only showed yesterday’s activity, nothing like what Wesley Foley claimed about her refusing his calls.
She pushed her phone forward with confusion, "Director Foley, your number isn’t here."
Wesley Foley was taken aback and then frowned, standing up and walking around the desk to take Titus Zane’s phone for a check. When he came back, he looked at Titus Zane with a slight curve at the corner of his lips, implying something as he spoke.
"Assistant Titus, I never realized how meticulous you are in your work."
She actually deleted the call log of his calls so thoroughly!
Having said that, he turned and went back to his desk.
Titus Zane was baffled, watching Wesley Foley’s clearly displeased back, with a slight frown on her graceful brows.
When she was asleep, her phone was placed in front of her bed, anxious not to miss any important calls. However, her phone didn’t ring. She was sure of that because she always had light sleep; even the slightest noise would wake her up.
Yet, observing Wesley Foley’s demeanor didn’t seem like he was lying. So, why were there no incoming call records on her phone... and why did he mention a refusal?
Her eyes widened as Titus Zane suddenly thought of a possibility—it must have been Nathan Moore who tampered with her phone since he was always leaning by her bed...
Considering this possibility, Titus Zane no longer denied it. She raised her hand to brush away non-existent strands of hair by her ear, with a rather awkward expression, hesitated before speaking.
"Well... I... tend to have poor sleep... only felt sleepy as dawn was breaking... perhaps... I might have heard the ringtone in a daze and hung up..."
Ignoring Titus Zane’s explanation, Wesley Foley jumped to a different question abruptly, "You have sleep problems?"
"Ah? Oh, yes," Titus Zane looked up to meet Wesley Foley’s clearly doubtful expression, gave a smile in admission, "I have mild neurasthenia."
Wesley Foley didn’t continue on this topic, just responded with an indifferent "Hmm" and opened the file to continue working, "Go work."
"Director Foley, so... should I still write the self-criticism?" Titus Zane tentatively asked. Wesley Foley lifted his head to look at her again without a word, his handsome face serious.
The answer was obvious.
Titus Zane’s head dropped slightly, "Director Foley, I’ll be leaving then."
Wesley Foley’s hand was still on the file on his desk, just having opened a folder, watching Titus Zane turn around, then silently walk out, the moment the office door closed, Wesley Foley’s lips curved upwards, the serious expression instantly disappearing.
All afternoon, Titus Zane was grinding her teeth, cursing Nathan Moore. That awful man, not only did he bizarrely sit and sleep on her bed, but he also messed with her phone, making her have to write a self-criticism, just thinking about it was embarrassing.
Meanwhile, in another office building, Nathan Moore leaned back in a large office chair, continuously sneezing.
His ears were also hot, maybe because he caught a cold last night from waiting too long beneath that woman’s apartment building.
He grabbed the landline phone, called his secretary to make a cup of coffee for him, just put it down, and the mobile phone beside him started ringing.
