Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 592 - 588, Annual Meeting (Encounter Danger Again)
CHAPTER 592: 588, ANNUAL MEETING (ENCOUNTER DANGER AGAIN)
The next day, unable to go shopping as planned, Uncle and Wesley Foley’s companies had successfully tested a new product, and hence the annual company meeting was convened earlier, doubling as a celebration banquet.
As a sensible Madam, although there was not much for her to do, she still had to get involved and help out.
The annual meeting was held two days later, and except for the grandson who was occupied with military duties, the Zane family, both young and old, attended the celebration banquet.
Of course, Alder Locke also didn’t want to stay at home alone, so he followed along.
The celebration banquet was held in a renowned hotel in Capital City, and the people who attended were not only company employees but also some business partners of Uncle Evander Lancaster.
Alder Locke, like a Guardian Angel, stayed right by Titus Zane’s side without leaving. Titus Zane wore a white evening dress, and Alder Locke was in a black suit with a white shirt and a bow tie, looking quite the gentleman.
The two of them appeared very compatible, and many people thought they were a couple.
Abigail Zimmerman moved among the guests with her husband, and Mr. Zane was also fervently courted by many people.
Titus Zane, having been modestly brought back by the Zane family, was unknown to the guests in terms of her identity, found a quiet spot in the resting area, grabbed a juice, and sat there sipping it out of boredom.
Alder Locke, the Guardian Angel, whether meeting acquaintances or his natural disposition not fading away, was standing not far from the resting area, chatting warmly with a beautiful woman, occasionally glancing over at Titus Zane and then making a toasting gesture.
Titus Zane remained aloof, unswayed by Alder Locke’s friendly gestures.
In the banquet hall, a little girl let go of her father’s hand and walked over here, wearing a pink princess dress with her long hair flowing down and adorned with a butterfly bow headband.
Amelia came up to Titus Zane, staring with beautiful big eyes, curiously asked, "Pretty sister, why are you sitting here alone? Doesn’t anyone play with you?"
Titus Zane recognized Amelia, since she was Wesley Foley’s daughter. She smiled and said, "Yes, is there no one to play with Amelia either?"
Amelia climbed into the chair next to Titus Zane and sighed, a look of vexation that a child her age shouldn’t have, "It’s so chaotic here, not fun at all,"
Titus Zane smiled again, also disliking these kinds of social interactions.
In the banquet hall, Wesley Foley saw his daughter chatting with Titus Zane, his lips curving into a warm arc, and then turned back to continue socializing with friends.
Seeing that there was now a little ’bun’ next to Titus Zane, Alder Locke frowned and said something to the woman he was chatting with then walked briskly over here.
"Whose child is this, running over here?"
Titus Zane prop her chin up, "Director Foley’s daughter."
Alder Locke glanced over, turned back, and then Amelia unpleasantly asked, "Who are you?"
Raising his eyebrow, Alder Locke sat down next to Titus Zane, "I’m her boyfriend."
Before Titus Zane could deny it, Amelia scoffed disdainfully, "Humph, no you’re not, daddy said the pretty sister doesn’t have a boyfriend."
"Did your daddy tell you that?"
Alder Locke raised his eyebrow again, Amelia proudly tilted her chin, the disdainful little gleam in her eyes, "Of course, daddy never lies to me, and you’re too ugly, sister would never make you her boyfriend."
Having said that, Amelia jumped off the chair with Alder Locke’s exasperated gaze upon her and courteously said, "Pretty sister, I need to use the restroom, can you take me there?"
Watching Alder Locke’s deflated demeanor, Titus Zane got up and took Amelia’s small hand, walking towards the restroom direction.
Among the guests, a tall figure put down his highball glass and also headed towards the restroom.
