CHAPTER 737: 733, I HAVE EVIDENCE.
"Enough already! Stop it and go back to your room!" Seeing his wife speaking without restraint in front of their son, Oliver Shaw stood up from the sofa, walked over, grabbed his wife’s arm, and marched towards the staircase.
Although Melody Zachary resisted, she half-heartedly followed her husband up the stairs, the petite woman being led away as if she were a little chick in Oliver’s grasp.
Watching his parents’ retreating figures, Felix Shaw’s face darkened progressively.
Just as his mother said, he was a man and understood the thoughts of men. His father wasn’t too old, just over fifty, and his mother was only fifty—an age that should be full of vigor. But his mother said, his father... didn’t touch her.
He also worked at the company. Even though it was tiring, it wasn’t to the point of not wanting to do anything. Besides, mental labor didn’t require physical effort, and proper exercise could even relieve stress.
Felix took a deep breath, pulled his suitcase, and returned to his room. He had drunk too much last night; he left so many marks on Elizabeth White and couldn’t even remember doing so.
After a shower and a change of clothes, Felix came out of his room. He hadn’t eaten since he woke up, and he wanted to find something to eat downstairs. Just then, he happened to run into his father coming out of his room and casually asked, "Where’s Mom?"
"Sigh, I just coaxed her to sleep," Oliver exhaled, closed the bedroom door, and led the way, "Your mom is going through early menopause. She’s been nagging and suspicious all day long, no telling when it will be over."
Looking at his father’s back, Felix stopped in his tracks, hesitated for a moment, and still decided to voice the doubts in his heart, "Dad, do you really have another woman outside?"
He had been suspicious before, but gave up because he found no hint of anything.
Oliver stopped, turned back to look at his son, his brows furrowed tightly, his facial expression clearly reproachful.
"You were out for a few days, and now you’re just like your mother, suspicious all the time, makes me wonder who you take after!"
After speaking, he turned and continued towards the stairs. In the brief moment he turned around, a flicker of panic flashed quickly through his eyes.
Oliver went back to work at the company, while Felix sat at the dining table eating his food, staring at a certain spot in front of him with a furrowed brow, clearly deep in thought.
"Young master, is the food not to your liking? Should I make something else?" Felix was eating slowly, spending half an hour on a plate of spaghetti without finishing it. Mrs. Xu came over and asked; Felix returned to his senses, looked at the remaining half plate of spaghetti, and put down his fork, "No need, I’m not very hungry."
Having said that, he stood up and walked towards the living room. Just as he was about to sit down on the sofa, he thought better of it and went upstairs.
Standing in front of his parents’ bedroom door, Felix knocked and called out, "Mom, are you awake?"
"I didn’t sleep, come in," Melody Zachary’s voice came from inside, heavy with nasal congestion.
Felix pushed the door open and entered. Inside the room, Melody was leaning on the bed. Although she had stopped crying, her eyes were visibly swollen.
Felix sat down in front of the bed and asked with a helpless smile, "Mom, what’s the matter? How could you suddenly think that Dad has a woman outside?"
"Felix, I’m not being paranoid, I have evidence," Melody looked up at her son, her husband’s infidelity turned her son into her reliance.
Felix asked lightly, "Mom, you said you have evidence. Did you run into something, or did you find something?"
"Of course, I found something!" Melody sat up straight, clearly agitated at the mention of this.
Felix laughed, "You’re either playing cards or cooped up at home all day, what could you possibly find?"
