Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 751 - 747, how embarrassing for me!
CHAPTER 751: 747, HOW EMBARRASSING FOR ME!
Before going to work, Mia Foster drove Felix Shaw back home. Although there was no walking involved, she still felt uncomfortable.
It was either because he was too large or too rough; the feeling there was indescribable.
When Felix Shaw entered the villa, Oliver Shaw was already dressed neatly, holding his briefcase and about to head to the company for work. Seeing his son enter the living room, he reproachfully snapped, "Where did you go fooling around last night?"
Changing his shoes, Felix replied disdainfully, "Fooling around? Of course, to a haunted place!" After speaking, he strode past his father towards the stairs.
Oliver Shaw turned his head, looking at his son’s retreating figure with a gloomy expression.
Just as he ascended the stairs, he encountered his mother coming out of her room. Melody Zachary, too, had changed into a set of taupe dress suit, her makeup flawless and her short hair meticulously styled. She carried a light-colored handbag and wore moderately high heels.
"Mom, where are you going this early in the morning?"
"I’m going to the company with your dad," Melody answered determinedly.
"What are you going to do at the company?"
"With me by your dad’s side 24 hours a day, I’ll see how he can still find other women!" Melody hissed through gritted teeth and quickly headed towards the stairs.
Felix Shaw...
Watching his mother’s stubborn back, he suddenly felt sad. Being by his father’s side could prevent him from cheating, but can it really guard his heart?
After returning to his room, Felix Shaw heard arguing downstairs; Melody insisted on going to the company with her husband, and though Oliver was naturally unwilling, after a bout of arguing, Melody still managed to get into the car.
During the morning meeting, Felix didn’t see his mother, but when he went to his father’s office, there she was sitting on the sofa, facing the door with a tense expression, obviously still angry with her husband.
Oliver Shaw sat behind his office desk, burying himself in work, both of them wore frowning expressions without any communication.
After entering the office and closing the door, Felix Shaw said, "Mom, you should go back," worried that the company staff might laugh behind their backs knowing she came to the office just to watch his father.
"I will not; going back is the same as sitting at home, it’s all the same!" Melody stubbornly refused to leave.
Felix never thought his mother’s actions were wise. Although his father had affairs, he said he would not divorce her, and now her behavior, which could annoy any man, made even him as a son upset, let alone his father?
There are many ways to keep a man, yet his mother chose a tactic that gradually pushed his father away.
Mia rubbing his temples, visibly exhausted, walked over and pulled his mother’s arm, "Mom, go back, the company’s employees will laugh."
"Laugh? By what right do they laugh at me?" Melody dodged aside, avoiding her son’s hand as if she were a cat whose tail had been stepped on, immediately bristling.
"I haven’t cheated or done anything wrong. Why should they laugh at me?"
The women of Southriver are supposed to speak softly and gently, but at this moment, Melody was clearly an unreasonable shrew.
Oliver Shaw looked up from his desk, and seeing his wife making a scene, he said displeased, "Felix, take your mother home! Don’t let her embarrass herself in the company!"
"I’m embarrassing myself?" Melody suddenly sprang up from the sofa, stormed over to the office table in her high heels, and glared at Oliver Shaw like a hen ready for battle, "Oliver Shaw, you explain to me how I am embarrassing myself!"
