Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 100 - 99: She Was the Victim, Yet Became the Culprit!
CHAPTER 100: CHAPTER 99: SHE WAS THE VICTIM, YET BECAME THE CULPRIT!
Hearing the servant’s words, Zoe Quinn smirked as she sipped her water. She had cried all night at the police station; at this moment, she looked as pitiful as one could be. Without going back to The Sullivan Family to change her clothes, she came directly with Claire Sullivan and Joel Quinn to find Serena Sullivan, intent on making her pay for what happened yesterday.
"Sister."
Zoe Quinn put down the teacup and called out tearfully. Without having slept well all night, she looked very haggard, not to mention her red and swollen eyes, which made Claire Sullivan, feeling distressed, walk over to her side.
"I’m sorry, it was all my fault last night. I didn’t know Mr. Shaw would come into your room."
Zoe Quinn always had a way of shifting the responsibility away from herself and, even more so, making Claire Sullivan believe her completely.
Claire Sullivan patted Zoe Quinn’s shoulder, "Don’t worry, Zoe, your sister will forgive you."
These words...
Made Serena Sullivan smile slightly. Mr. Shaw went to the police station and surely explained clearly how Zoe Quinn let him into her room, yet Claire Sullivan didn’t have the slightest doubt.
Who knows if it’s due to Zoe Quinn’s acting skills or Claire Sullivan’s foolishness, or perhaps...
Serena glanced at Joel Quinn sitting on the sofa. Joel Quinn, seeing her look over, smiled warmly.
Or perhaps, this man is very skilled at sweet-talking women!
"Serena, the issue with Mr. Shaw has nothing to do with Zoe! She’s been wronged!"
"Hmm!"
Serena moved her gaze away from Joel Quinn’s smiling face, her eyes darkening. She responded coldly with a single word.
"I wanted to match you with Mr. Shaw; it had nothing to do with Zoe," Claire Sullivan added.
"Oh!"
Serena responded again. The tone of indifference mixed with sarcasm made Claire Sullivan furious, "I told you this, did you hear me!"
"Hmm." Serena looked at Claire Sullivan and asked, "Are you done? If so, you can leave now."
Saying this, she turned her wheelchair, intending to go back to her room to continue sleeping. Claire Sullivan shouted at her harshly, "Serena!"
"Didn’t you come over to explain this to me? Since you’re done and I’ve listened, why aren’t you leaving?"
Clarifying the matter was secondary; they wanted Serena’s attitude, an attitude that could help Zoe Quinn clear her suspicion.
"Stop."
Seeing Serena about to leave, Claire Sullivan stepped forward and commanded, "The Shaw Family said that as long as you don’t pursue Mr. Shaw, Mr. Shaw won’t keep pressing Zoe."
"This whole thing is your doing. I’m taking you to the police station to explain clearly now."
"What did you say!"
Serena turned around, raising her head to glare coldly at Claire Sullivan.
Did she hear that wrong just now?
The icy stare on her made Claire Sullivan inexplicably guilty and fearful. Why does she always panic in front of her own daughter!
Serena in this manner is unlike her, and even more unlike that man!
"I brought this on myself!" Serena clenched her fists, her eyes filled with resentment as she glared at Claire Sullivan. Her teeth clenched as she questioned clearly, "Claire Sullivan, who truly caused this!"
She pressed the wheelchair switch, approaching Claire Sullivan.
One seated, one standing, yet causing Claire Sullivan to retreat anxiously.
"Who on earth!"
She was a victim, but in Claire Sullivan’s eyes, she became the wrongdoer!
