CHAPTER 112: CHAPTER 111: HERE, YOU ARE THE MISTRESS

The servant closed the door and went downstairs, leaving Serena Sullivan and Ethan Grant alone in the room.

The sunlight outside poured in through the window, making the entire dining room warm and particularly comfortable.

"She’s from the family estate!"

Ethan suddenly spoke, causing Serena to pause, slowing her movements.

The "family estate" refers to The Grant Family’s old estate, where the elders reside.

"Oh."

Mentioning the "family estate" involuntarily brought back memories for Serena, to which she responded indifferently.

"I’ll replace her."

Ethan spoke coldly again. This servant had done well at the family estate, and it was the butler there who recommended the servant to Willow Yarrow.

Initially, Ethan thought this person was diligent and responsible, but he realized that the so-called "diligence and responsibility" were directed at him, not Serena.

Such a person—even if Serena wasn’t there, fearing his own violent temperament might scare her—he already wanted to kick her out.

"No need!"

Serena refused. She originally planned to take this opportunity to dismiss the person but changed her mind when Ethan mentioned she was from the family estate.

"Keep her for now!"

"Okay!"

Ethan agreed immediately without hesitation.

His quick agreement made Serena look at him suspiciously.

"Aren’t you going to ask why I’m keeping the maid who’s secretly bullying me?"

Serena is not weak; even with her legs incapacitated, she maintains a strong temperament and always seeks revenge.

This servant took money from Zoe Quinn, allowed Zoe to take her away, and later brought Claire Sullivan and Zoe Quinn in. Clearly, she too wanted to deal with Serena.

And now, Serena wished to keep her.

Ethan didn’t answer immediately. He used his chopsticks to remove the egg yolk from a fried egg on his plate, leaving the egg white for Serena’s plate.

Serena looked at the egg white on her plate, momentarily stunned.

Nobody understood her habits and preferences better than Ethan Grant.

But did he know that people change?

"Here, you’re the lady of the house!"

Serena had her reasons for keeping the servant. He wouldn’t interfere or ask, but only needed to find someone on the side to ensure that she wasn’t bullied.

As he considered this, he saw Serena transfer the egg white back to her own bowl.

"Thank you."

Serena replied in a faint voice, "I don’t like this anymore!"

Ethan looked at the egg white poured back into his bowl, startled for a moment, then abruptly stood up and dumped both the porridge and egg white into the trash can beside the table.

Serena strongly felt the chill and hostility emanating from him. Four years ago, Ethan’s temperament was merely bad, but now at times, she truly couldn’t understand him!

Afterwards, the meal was not particularly enjoyable!

Ethan barely ate; after the meal, he returned to the room to work.

Serena also went back to continue her design draft.

There were only a few days left before the initial draft deadline, and everyone was waiting for the results, especially Zoe Quinn.
