Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 120 - 119: Are You Joking?
CHAPTER 120: CHAPTER 119: ARE YOU JOKING?
On the phone screen, there were messages from fans supporting Zoe Quinn, cursing Serena Sullivan. Zoe glanced at it, then looked at her conversation with Sean Lockwood.
"Sean, thank you."
Zoe Quinn smiled through her tears, looked up at Serena Sullivan across from her, and asked, "Sister, do you have anything to say now!"
Serena Sullivan smiled, either Zoe Quinn underestimated the situation or she deliberately got Sean Lockwood involved first.
But Zoe Quinn didn’t realize, no matter who she called as a witness, the outcome would be the same.
"Yes!"
As Serena Sullivan spoke, Sean Lockwood on the other end of the phone became agitated, "Serena, you’re the one who copied Zoe’s work. Don’t think you can slander her."
The live stream was flooded with messages cursing Serena Sullivan.
"May I ask, when was Zoe Quinn’s work submitted?"
Serena Sullivan spoke, spinning the phone on the table, "I saw Sean’s tweet, it was posted at nine last night."
"And my work was submitted the day before yesterday."
"Moreover..."
Serena Sullivan spoke softly, her smile deepening. She had submitted her work before Zoe Quinn did. Was Zoe bringing Sean Lockwood in as a witness, relying on that tweet, supposed to be a joke?
Sean Lockwood was indeed a fervent protector, completely ignoring Serena’s words. He immediately retorted on the other end, "You’re just trying to slander Zoe, deliberately submitting your work before her."
"Serena, your malicious intents may fool others, but not me."
"It was you who copied Zoe’s design draft."
Hearing Sean speak so forcefully, Serena Sullivan smiled and reminded him, "Sean, we’re having a meeting in The Grant Corporation’s conference room, and Zoe has it on speaker. Are you sure you want to continue being this rude to me?"
The Grant Corporation meeting? Speakerphone!
That means everything he said to curse Serena was heard by his uncle too.
Instantly, Sean Lockwood on the other end of the phone fell silent.
The live stream comments began to shift, with many fans starting to question.
"Serena clearly submitted her work first, how can she be accused of copying Zoe’s?"
"Zoe won The Brilliance Competition’s championship, and her mentor is the beautiful He, it must be Serena who copied her!"
Fans unconsciously split into two camps, one doubting Zoe, the other fully belittling Serena.
"Manager Warren, who submitted their work first?"
Yvette Sterling spoke, asking the design department manager.
"It was Serena."
The manager replied with some difficulty. In the morning, he noticed the similarity between the two pieces and mentioned it to Zoe Quinn. She said it was nothing to worry about.
Soon after, Assistant Sterling came over, advising him to speak less and do more.
Clearly, there was a setup with the two similar works.
But determining who copied whom was really not easy.
The manager spoke based on facts, then resumed his seat. As a mid-level leader with years in the business, he knew when to close his eyes, when to watch the show.
He couldn’t risk his future by favoring the delicate girl he liked.
"Right!"
Zoe Quinn responded, taking over the conversation, breaking into tears, "I did submit my work later than Serena, but it’s truly my own creation."
