Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 134 - 133: What I Lost, He Still Hasn’t Returned
CHAPTER 134: CHAPTER 133: WHAT I LOST, HE STILL HASN’T RETURNED
Finn Chandler rarely shows his emotions outside. At this moment, he looks down at Serena Sullivan’s legs, and his eyes turn red.
Four years have passed since the beginning, when Serena lay in bed crying constantly. Later on, he never saw her cry again, not even once.
No matter what news she hears, no matter how bad, she still smiles slightly.
"You really want to see me cry!" Serena retorts with a laugh, "Besides, with you all supporting me, I don’t want to cry."
After she finishes speaking, she notices Finn Chandler staring into her eyes.
Finn Chandler is not Anna Morgan; growing up cautiously in The Chambers Family, Finn has eyes that can see through everything.
His gaze is too sharp.
"He openly announced marrying Zoe Quinn with you in mind."
"Serena, what do you think in your heart?"
Finn Chandler asks.
Serena’s smile deepens. She answers quietly, "I don’t know."
When a person loses what they care about most for love; when someone despairs so much because of a man that living feels worse than dying; when someone has lived like a zombie for four years, she truly doesn’t know where the road ahead is!
She doesn’t even know why she wants to return and marry Ethan Grant, whether she still loves him or not!
This is a complex and painful question.
"Alright." Finn Chandler doesn’t press further. He gently says, "Des Davis has called me many times, Serena. If you don’t want to continue with Ethan Grant, we’ll go to Des Davis."
"If you want to reconcile with Ethan Grant, tell him about that matter."
"Finn!"
Serena interrupts him. Her eyes are a bit wet, but before the tears fall, her mouth squeezes out a smile first, "I’m doing fine like this."
"I don’t want to go to Des Davis."
"As for Ethan Grant," Serena suddenly raises her voice, "I cannot forgive."
"If I have to give a reason to marry him, it’s revenge!"
Her eyes become cold and sharp, making Finn Chandler extremely uncomfortable, "I have a chance, these legs have a chance."
Serena’s tone becomes colder and harder at the end. On the night the "final draft" meeting ends, she returns to her room, burying herself under the covers. In the dark world, she sees not darkness but blood red.
Her world suddenly collapsed four years ago because of that car accident, because Ethan Grant did not answer her call.
"I shouldn’t have called him. If I had called you or Anna at that time, the outcome would not be this!"
Serena lowers her head. Just now, Finn Chandler said he wanted to see her cry. Now her eyes are bright red, and the tears truly fall.
"My legs wouldn’t be crippled, and he..." Serena speaks here. Her hand slowly moves from her leg to her abdomen, fingers clutching her clothing tightly. The feeling of heartbreak sweeps over her entire body again, tears fighting to pour from her eyes, and she bites her lips fiercely. Within a short time, her complexion turns pale, very pale.
"Get back together with him! Finn, what I lost, he didn’t come back!"
A knot formed inside one’s heart can’t be undone so quickly.
Returning to Solaria is for revenge or because she cannot let go.
Finn Chandler regrets it. He holds Serena Sullivan’s ice-cold hand tightly, saying no more.
Neither of them notices Anna Morgan, who returned from shopping, standing behind Serena Sullivan, her face tear-stained.
