"I’m sorry!"

Zoe Quinn suppressed the panic in her heart, sobbing softly as she spoke. She quickly adjusted her mood, trying hard to calm herself down.

She had attempted "wrist-cutting suicide," lying on the hospital bed feeling worse than death; Ethan would forgive her no matter how angry he was.

"I thought that work was my sister’s."

Ethan Grant didn’t reply; he coldly stared at Zoe Quinn, and his disdainful, icy gaze made Zoe’s acting falter a bit.

With no choice, Zoe let out a few sobs, allowing tears to slowly slide down her pale cheeks before speaking again.

"Yes, I hired someone to photograph my sister’s work, then copied it, and during the final draft meeting, I brought along Mom and Ms. Hale to testify. I wanted her to bear the charge of plagiarism, for you to drive her out of The Grant Corporation, and to abandon her."

At this point, tears blurred Zoe’s eyes; she was sobbing severely, sounding as if she had realized her mistake.

Ethan Grant still hadn’t spoken—he didn’t expect Zoe to admit so quickly that she had orchestrated the events at the final draft meeting.

"Ethan!"

Under Ethan’s silent and cold gaze, Zoe couldn’t care about the IV drip anymore; she used her other hand to prop herself up.

"You must hate me to death now; I’m so nasty and malicious!"

"I hate myself for being like this too."

With a quick change of tone, Zoe smartly made Ethan hear that she was forced, that she was helpless.

"Ethan!"

She raised her voice, crying even harder, "I can’t help but hate my sister; she took you away from me."

"If it weren’t for her, you would be marrying me. Why did she have to come back and take you away? Why!"

Getting more despondent as she spoke, this sentence came from the depths of her heart.

Serena Sullivan had rolled out of Solaria four years ago; why did she come back to compete with her for Ethan!

She hated Serena from the first time she entered The Sullivan Family and saw Serena elegantly smiling at her.

"I’m sorry, I won’t ever treat my sister like that again."

"I won’t compete with my sister anymore in the future. I’ll do whatever you want me to do! I just want to stay by your side."

Zoe lifted her head, revealing a hopeful smile as she looked at Ethan.

She spoke vaguely, yet Ethan could understand the meaning behind her words.

This is for Ethan to accept both sisters.

Zoe considered her concession large, forsaking status, silently staying beside Ethan.

Of course, Zoe was retreating to advance; she wanted to win Ethan over, stabilize Serena, and sooner or later, she could drive Serena away from Ethan’s side.
