Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 158 - 157: The Grant Family Eldest Miss
CHAPTER 158: CHAPTER 157: THE GRANT FAMILY ELDEST MISS
Not wanting to be carried around by Ethan Grant, Serena Sullivan stays at home and skips work.
She spends her time reviewing the information her grandfather sent about The Sullivan Corporation, sketching drafts, or having a servant push her downstairs for a walk, and the day passes quickly.
Serena’s drawing pen was gone, so after staying home the whole day, she has a servant push her to the supermarket downstairs. As soon as she exits "Willow Yarrow," she sees four black cars parked by the roadside.
The female bodyguard Ethan Grant mentioned hasn’t reported yet, but the Grant Family has come looking for her first.
Seeing that the situation is a bit off, two bodyguards following behind swiftly stand in front of Serena, while the servant grips the wheelchair tightly, ready to push Serena back if it’s necessary.
Serena sits calmly because she sees the car door open, and a woman of elegant demeanor steps out in sharp high heels.
Though her face is covered with sunglasses, through her features, one can see traces of Ethan Grant and Sean Lockwood.
Confirmed from Mrs. Zimmerman’s words that the person behind her isn’t Mr. Grant or Mrs. Grant, Serena guesses the noblewoman approaching is Renee Grant.
Renee is eighteen years older than Ethan Grant, the daughter of Mr. Grant’s first wife, and also the wife of Felix Lockwood, the eldest son of The Lockwood Family.
Sean Lockwood has a good appearance, thanks to Renee’s excellent genes.
"My brother has protected you too well," Renee says as she walks in front of Serena, lightly bends her head, and smiles.
She waited here for most of the day without seeing anyone come out, so she was nearly frustrated and ready to leave.
"Mrs. Lockwood, did you come all this way for me?"
Being old acquaintances, Serena doesn’t bother with pleasantries with Renee.
When she was dating Ethan Grant, the first of the Grant Family she met was Renee.
Her relationship with Ethan was opposed by the Grant Family, and it was Renee representing them to negotiate with her.
Four years later, the first person she sees at the old Grant family residence is also Renee.
No, daughters marry out, like spilled water, Renee doesn’t represent The Grant Family, even if it’s the old residence’s intention, Serena won’t take it seriously.
"There’s a banquet at The Lockwood Family; I’ve come to take you to attend."
Renee raises her head and looks ahead, speaking lightly, and her people come over wanting to take Serena away.
Among the three cars she brought, there’s even a minivan, clearly not here for good intentions.
Before returning, Serena was well aware of the people she had to confront; now that they are here, what is there for her to fear!
"Since my sister has so warmly invited me, I have no reason not to go."
The words "my sister" are called out sweetly by Serena, causing a slight stiffening of Renee’s face under her sunglasses.
"Then let’s go."
Renee first turns to prepare to leave, while Serena’s gaze falls on the minivan at the back.
"What’s wrong? Need to call my brother to report?" Renee turns her head and smiles faintly.
"Heading to The Lockwood Family doesn’t require a phone call, Ethan will find out," Serena replies with a smile. "For someone in a wheelchair like me, it’s inconvenient to sit in a sedan."
Finished speaking, she instructs the servant to push her to the minivan. The servant hesitates, as Serena’s specially modified sedan is parked at home and could be used.
"Serena!"
Renee calls out, seeing the minivan door open, Serena lifted into the vehicle by bodyguards, her face turns serious and she can only follow in.
How humiliating for the Grant Family’s eldest young lady to accompany Serena in a minivan!
