CHAPTER 159: CHAPTER 158: EVEN WITH CRIPPLED LEGS, STILL DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO KEEP A LOW PROFILE

A minivan is never as comfortable as a sedan!

Serena Sullivan can adapt anywhere, and as someone whose legs are crippled, she doesn’t fuss over trivialities!

Unlike that Grant lady, Mrs. Lockwood covered her nose as she got in the car, waited for the bodyguard to neatly cover the seat with tissues before she sat down.

As the car started, Renee Grant took off her sunglasses. This woman in her forties was meticulously maintained. She lazily folded her arms across her chest, crossed her legs, and cast a disdainful glance at Serena, the contempt in her eyes quickly apparent.

"Your Sullivan family took money without providing service, just greedy!"

She was somewhat similar to Ruth Hale, yet they were totally different.

Ruth’s pretentiousness was obvious, but inside she was humble.

Renee came from a privileged background, married well, and from the core, looked down on those around her, including Serena.

"Five million! Helped your insignificant little company in Solaria establish a foothold. Now, crippled, reneging, you’re clinging onto my brother, refusing to let go."

With disdain, Renee scoffed; without the Grant family, the Sullivans were nothing.

Back then, Renee brought five million to Serena, and although The Sullivan Corporation was financially lacking, she refused it, but Claire Sullivan accepted it.

Whoever took it saved The Sullivan Corporation at that time; Serena had nothing to explain or refute.

"Thank you, sister."

Serena smiled and replied politely.

Renee disliked her, and Serena held grudges.

"You!"

Renee’s face darkened, her eyes coldly stared at Serena. "Another five million for you to get out of Solaria."

She couldn’t understand it, Serena lacked family standing, had an unknown biological father, and Claire Sullivan had been involved with many men in shady dealings over the years. How could someone like that marry into the Grant family?

"Sister." Serena deliberately ignored the disdain in Renee’s eyes, smiling as she replied, "Four years ago it was five million, four years later it’s worth more than that."

Renee’s face turned even darker, finding her more obnoxious than before.

"How much do you want!"

"Sister, have you forgotten that Ethan and I are already married." Watching the person she disliked become exasperated, Serena felt cheerful.

Four years ago, she would think this was Ethan Grant’s sister whom she should please.

Now, Ethan meant nothing to her, Renee was insignificant.

"You tell me, if we leave, how much do you think I could get?"

Serena asked Renee, knowingly unaware, with an amused expression.

Renee gritted her teeth without answering, her face was livid, eyes glaring at Serena, wishing to devour her.

"Five million or five hundred billion, which do you think I would choose?"

"Serena, you’re dreaming."

Irritated, Renee took a deep breath, cutting off her gaze at Serena, she mocked her with disgust, "Just as sharp-tongued and annoying as four years ago."

"Crippled, yet no intention to hold back!"

"Sister has indeed changed a lot."

The angrier Renee got, the better Serena’s mood became.

Renee turned her head, waiting for Serena to speak again, Serena smiled, her face under the sunlight was dazzlingly appealing.

"You’ve got more wrinkles at the corners of your eyes."

This one comment made even the most composed Renee lose her temper, she angrily shouted at the driver in front, "Stop the car."

The servant beside Serena worried Renee was calling to stop the car to confront Serena.

Serena remained calm, still smiling as she watched Renee bend to get out of the car.

Renee was not like Zoe Quinn and Ruth Hale. With her status as a Grant lady and Mrs. Lockwood, it was unlikely she would act like a shrew in front of others.

If she wanted to take action, she would certainly use others, like arranging Mrs. Zimmerman at Willow Yarrow.
