Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 198 - 197: No Match for Her at All
CHAPTER 198: CHAPTER 197: NO MATCH FOR HER AT ALL
Ruth has always looked down on Claire Sullivan. She used to rely on this woman to rise, but now she doesn’t need Claire Sullivan at all.
Besides, Claire Sullivan snatched away her man!
"It was Joel who didn’t allow us to report it," Claire Sullivan replied.
She was used to Ruth’s superior demeanor and abrasive tone when speaking with her.
However, she felt somewhat uncomfortable inside.
"He said not to report, so you just don’t report it? His hand was crushed!" Ruth retorted furiously, thinking Claire Sullivan was a useless fool.
"I think you’re just trying to save face for yourself and The Sullivan Family, completely disregarding Joel..."
"Aunt Ruth!"
As Ruth was fervently cursing, the hospital room door opened, and Zoe Quinn emerged, calling out in displeasure.
"Zoe." Upon seeing Zoe Quinn, Ruth immediately put on a smile. "Is your health better now? I was just planning to visit you at The Sullivan Family home."
"Much better." Zoe Quinn dared not get too close to Ruth, heading toward Claire Sullivan, "Thank you for your concern, Aunt."
She said it while holding Claire Sullivan’s hand and continued speaking to Ruth, "Aunt Ruth, my father’s incident has nothing to do with my mom."
Zoe Quinn spoke up for Claire Sullivan, making Ruth’s face turn ugly. Ruth wanted to argue, but was silenced by Zoe Quinn’s cold glare.
"Not reporting it was also my dad’s decision," Zoe Quinn added.
Ruth was truly insane, questioning Claire Sullivan so loudly in the hospital corridor. Luckily, Claire Sullivan’s mind was on her dad at the moment. If she noticed Ruth’s peculiarity, both she and her dad would be implicated.
"Is it really your dad’s decision?"
Ruth realized her situation and had to suppress her anger and dislike towards Claire Sullivan.
She couldn’t ruin her relationship with Claire Sullivan before getting her hands on The Sullivan Corporation.
"Claire," Ruth turned to Claire Sullivan, smiling and speaking softly, "I heard that President Quinn’s hand was broken, and my tone was a bit harsh."
"Don’t misunderstand, I thought it might have something to do with me."
Ruth’s mind was sharp, always managing to connect things to Serena Sullivan.
Claire Sullivan was initially a bit displeased with Ruth’s harsh tone. The one with his hand crushed was her husband, not Ruth’s.
No matter how close their relationship was, when it came to her husband, Claire Sullivan knew her boundaries.
Zoe Quinn stepping in helped calm her anger.
"How is his incident related to you?"
Ruth didn’t answer immediately. She first took a deep breath and frowned.
"It’s all my fault."
Ruth piqued her interest again, "Claire, I’ve been single all these years, not because I couldn’t find anyone, but because I wanted to find someone who loves me and whom I love."
Claire Sullivan had often worried about Ruth’s personal issues.
Previously, Ruth was a small-time designer and couldn’t find a good match.
Now, she became a top designer, gained fame, but also aged.
Ruth’s standards were high, and Claire Sullivan didn’t know what kind she was looking for.
"Recently, I’ve met someone."
She said, lowering her head with a shy blush.
"Aunt Ruth, you found someone you like?" Zoe Quinn inquired enthusiastically.
"Yes." Ruth raised her head, looked at Claire Sullivan, and smiled, but inside, she mocked her with disdain.
Claire Sullivan was too dumb, simply not her match.
