Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 201 - 200: The Mouth Most in Need of Stitching Is Here
CHAPTER 201: CHAPTER 200: THE MOUTH MOST IN NEED OF STITCHING IS HERE
As lunchtime approached, Auntie An delivered the meal to Serena Sullivan.
The Sullivan Corporation wasn’t as accommodating as The Grant Corporation. If she went downstairs to the Sullivan Corporation’s cafeteria, not only would she have to crowd the elevator with other colleagues, but there were also many steps at the cafeteria and no ramp nearby.
So, from the first day, servants from "Willow Yarrow" would come to deliver lunch for her and Yaya.
Bringing bodyguards and servants to work, colleagues who already favored Ruth Hale and Zoe Quinn were gossiping even more about Serena behind her back. Serena had sharp ears; she would let it go in one ear and out the other. This made her seem easygoing and approachable to her colleagues, like she was easily taken advantage of, so they wouldn’t lower their voices when talking about her.
And sure enough, they started talking again during lunch, making Auntie An very unhappy.
Auntie An had been caring for Serena for a while. Initially, it was because Mr. Grant offered good pay, and she was a professional—very meticulous and patient in caring for Serena.
Gradually, she discovered Serena was wonderful: beautiful, with a great personality, and incredibly smart.
Yet this kind of girl had to use a wheelchair, which made Auntie An’s heart ache, making her even more devoted to her care.
"These people should have their mouths sewn shut with a needle," said Auntie An angrily, upon hearing unpleasant words like "cripple" from nearby.
"Yaya, don’t you think?"
"Mm!" Silent Yaya rarely spoke, but looked at Serena. If Serena said to hit them, she’d go over and beat them all up.
Life was hard without hitting people or kicking faces.
Serena smiled dismissively, "Auntie An, if you sew up all the mouths that speak ill of me, your hands will be sore."
"Even if it ruins my hands, I’d still sew them," Auntie An said determinedly; it was clearly a personal attack.
As they chatted, the sound of sharp high heels clicking on the ground came from the hallway, with heavy steps that were clearly intentional.
"Mrs. Quinn!"
"Miss Quinn!"
"What brings you here!"
The respectful voice of Sullivan Corporation employees followed, and Serena’s smile faded as she turned towards the door, saying to Auntie An, "Auntie An, that’s the mouth that most needs sewing."
Auntie An followed Serena’s gaze towards the door, where an elegant lady with extraordinary presence walked in, followed by a delicate girl.
The lady first surveyed the office and, seeing Serena dining, walked over with a somber expression.
Once she reached them, Auntie An noticed the lady’s features resembled her mistress’s.
"Serena Sullivan!"
Claire Sullivan called out in a calm voice in front of Serena.
"Yaya, Auntie An’s beef is so delicious," Serena pretended not to hear, smiling as she shared the beef from her bowl with Yaya.
Yaya was a little foodie, her eyes lighting up at the sight of meat.
"Serena Sullivan!"
Seeing Serena ignoring her, Claire Sullivan called out again.
The girl behind her, Zoe Quinn, stepped forward and said softly, "Sister, Mom is calling you!"
"My mom?" Serena looked mockingly at Claire Sullivan standing with Zoe, and said with a smile, "That’s not my mom, that’s your mom!"
Hadn’t they already cut off their mother-daughter relationship? How could Claire Sullivan be her mother?
Hearing the conversation between Serena, Zoe, and the others, Auntie An was astonished. Was this elegant lady really her mistress’s mother? What kind of mother walked in with such a demeanor from the start!
Auntie An couldn’t help but look at Yaya, who was focused on eating meat and had no time for the drama.
