Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 203 - 202: "Pigheaded
CHAPTER 203: CHAPTER 202: "PIGHEADED
"Fine." Zoe Quinn sobbed, gritting her teeth in frustration, "You say dad’s affairs have nothing to do with you, but what about Ms. Hale’s?"
"How much money has she earned for The Sullivan Corporation? Without her, could the Sullivan Design Department be so famous in Solaria?"
"Why did you drive her out of The Sullivan Corporation."
Since Zoe Quinn wanted to talk about Ruth Hale in front of so many people.
Ruth Hale packed her bags and left, only to complain to Claire Sullivan. Zoe Quinn also brought Claire Sullivan to find faults, so she didn’t hold back.
"Miss Quinn, Designer Hale earned a lot of money for The Sullivan Corporation, but there’s one thing you got wrong."
Serena Sullivan’s gaze shifted to Claire Sullivan, "It was Mrs. Quinn who cultivated Designer Hale. Without Mrs. Quinn, Designer Hale wouldn’t be worth a damn!"
A woman from the countryside, with no money or status in Solaria.
If it wasn’t for Claire Sullivan spending money, effort, and connections, Ruth Hale thought she could make it on her own!
"How can you speak like that!"
Listening to Serena Sullivan talk about Ruth Hale this way, Zoe Quinn became furious, questioning directly without thinking much. Only after she spoke did she realize Claire Sullivan was right by her side.
She met Serena Sullivan’s cunning smile, and her heart started to panic.
"Of course."
Zoe Quinn quickly corrected herself, "Without my mother, Aunt Ruth is nothing, but what my sister said was a bit harsh."
Listening nearby, Claire Sullivan felt complicated when Serena Sullivan claimed it was her credit for Ruth Hale’s current prestige.
Ruth Hale was arrogant, speaking to her increasingly rudely, forgetting the help she received initially.
Her usual silence didn’t mean she didn’t care.
"Serena."
She walked over, looking at Serena, who was younger and prettier, yet very much like herself, softening her voice,
"Your Uncle Joel’s hand was injured, I was anxious and got a bit harsh with you earlier."
Serena Sullivan’s words about Ruth Hale changed Claire Sullivan’s attitude, she squatted in front of Serena and lowered her head first.
"Tell mom the truth, is this matter related to..." Because there were other people nearby, Claire Sullivan didn’t make her words clear.
She only wanted Serena’s honest answer; if it was, she would protect her and not pursue it.
Serena looked at Claire Sullivan, who was a head lower, and sneeringly smiled, "I did it!"
"That old pervert, touching me with his hands, those hands should be chopped off."
If she was asked to say the truth, then she’d say it.
But Claire Sullivan didn’t believe it...
"Serena, don’t talk nonsense."
This place was full of employees of The Sullivan Corporation. What Serena said would damage Joel’s reputation, but how could they not think that questioning Joel Quinn about his broken hand at The Sullivan Corporation could tarnish Serena’s face.
"Haha!" Serena laughed mockingly again; it was the same four years ago, and still the same four years later! She was utterly disappointed in Claire Sullivan, without even a word to say.
"I’ve already learned about Ms. Hale’s situation."
Because Serena "slandered" Joel Quinn, Claire Sullivan’s tone softened; she changed the topic, speaking about Ruth Hale.
Serena chuckled, it seemed Ruth Hale had already gone crying to Claire Sullivan.
As for what was said, it wasn’t hard to guess.
"From now on, she’ll not be so muddleheaded!" Was she planning to keep Ruth Hale?
With a couple of words from others, Claire Sullivan believed it; her brain must have been eaten by pigs.
"Serena."
Claire Sullivan saw the cold sarcasm in Serena’s eyes, "Your Uncle Joel’s matter..."
"Sister Ann, I want to go to the bathroom."
Serena didn’t want to hear Claire continue, seeing her hand reaching out, she rolled back a bit, signaling Sister Ann to push her out.
Claire Sullivan’s hand awkwardly stopped in mid-air, she lifted her head, her eyes sorrowfully watching Serena’s back as she sat in the wheelchair, turning away from her.
