Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 40: Accept Me as Your Mother and Leave Ethan Grant
CHAPTER 40: CHAPTER 40: ACCEPT ME AS YOUR MOTHER AND LEAVE ETHAN GRANT
"Sister!"
Zoe Quinn sobbed, calling out sadly. Yesterday, Claire Sullivan came to pick her up, and she insisted that the injury on her face was caused by Serena Sullivan.
Without Serena, how could Ethan be willing to lay such a heavy hand on her!
"I know you hate that the person in Ethan’s heart is me, so you’re so harsh on me. But even if you smash my face, Ethan won’t love you."
Zoe Quinn righteously said to Serena Sullivan, "Don’t go to extremes, doing this will also break Mom’s heart!"
"Ha ha!" Serena found these words laughable.
A daughter’s face was beaten like this, crying so pitifully, while the other one was still sneering, completely unaware of where she went wrong. Claire compared in her heart and disliked Serena even more.
"Sister." Zoe Quinn seized the opportunity to continue, "You’ve already taken Ethan away from me and now you’re competing with me for the designer position at The Grant Corporation. What exactly will it take for you to let me go?"
"Do I have to leave Solaria for you to stop?"
"Zoe!"
These words didn’t move Serena, but they made Claire so uncomfortable that her eyes were red, "It’s all your sister’s fault, if you leave Solaria, what will Mom do?"
"Mom!"
Zoe Quinn emotionally threw herself into Claire Sullivan’s arms, crying even more sorrowfully, "I don’t want my sister to be so harsh in dealing with me; I don’t want you, Mom, to be sad."
"You just said something wrong." Serena was in no mood to watch them flaunt their mother-daughter affection. She coldly looked at Zoe Quinn, who had quieted her crying and said, "I’m not competing with you for The Grant Corporation’s designer position; I have already secured the Chief Designer’s position."
"What!"
Zoe Quinn’s voice immediately rose. Her unpleasant face transformed with rage and resentment, not to mention the malice that flashed in her eyes, which startled Claire Sullivan beside her.
Zoe Quinn had always been so fragile that she couldn’t withstand a single blow. Serena’s provocation caused her to change her expression drastically—something Claire had never witnessed before.
Zoe Quinn realized she showed tension. She had the Chief Designer position for The Grant Corporation’s "Brilliance" series within her grasp.
Even after what Ethan did to her last night, she didn’t think her Chief position would fall into someone else’s hands.
With the halo of the "Brilliance" competition’s championship, this "Brilliance" series gift was from Ethan himself for her. She even called the HR department to request leave this morning. Who would’ve thought, she became a designer!
Again, it was Serena’s secretive tricks behind the scenes—shameless!
"Mom!"
Bitten with anger, unable to rush to The Grant Corporation to question those confused interviewers with her bruised face, she could only cry again in front of Claire Sullivan.
Claire Sullivan looked at Zoe Quinn, whose face was covered in tears, and quickly put Zoe’s recent change of expression to the back of her mind, seeing only the words "heartache" in her eyes.
After wiping away Zoe’s tears, she stood up and, changing her gentle expression, coldly walked toward Serena Sullivan.
"Serena, if you acknowledge me as your mom, leave Ethan Grant, leave The Grant Corporation."
Serena sneered derisively; she saw Zoe Quinn’s true face, yet Claire still took no notice of it.
"Or else..."
"Or else what!"
Just as the words fell, Serena saw Claire raising her hand again, her fair palm about to slap across her cheek again. Out of the corner of her eye, Serena glimpsed Zoe Quinn on the bed, smirking smugly. Serena fearlessly locked eyes with Claire Sullivan.
