Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 41: Stop Her for Me
CHAPTER 41: CHAPTER 41: STOP HER FOR ME
"If you dare touch me today, I’ll let everyone know the Joyce family couple abuses their disabled daughter. Let’s see who gets embarrassed!"
Claire Sullivan cares most not about her daughter, nor the Sullivan Family’s reputation, but about her husband—Joel Quinn.
"You’re threatening me!"
Claire Sullivan growled angrily, but she really didn’t dare bring her raised hand down.
"Miss Sullivan!"
Sounds followed from outside; Finn Chandler’s people were here for Serena Sullivan.
Serena glanced coldly at Claire Sullivan, then used her hands to push her wheelchair backward to leave.
Seeing Serena about to leave, Zoe Quinn wished she could get out of bed and grab her. She was not willing, very unwilling.
"Mom!" With tears in her eyes, her resentful gaze fell on Claire Sullivan, not saying anything more, she just uttered that sorrowful plea.
Turning to see the pitiable Zoe Quinn, Claire Sullivan’s heart twisted with pain. Hearing the sound of the wheelchair rolling outside, she darkened her face and strode out.
At the moment the door closed, Claire Sullivan didn’t see Zoe Quinn on the bed pressing her lips together, revealing a mocking, smug smile. Her distorted face, too, became sinister and frightening because of this smile.
"Stop her for me!"
Worried about Zoe Quinn being beaten like this, Claire Sullivan had brought a servant and two bodyguards earlier in the morning, which were now used to block Serena’s path.
Seeing the situation, Finn Chandler’s men tried to snatch Serena over, but were stopped by the Sullivan Family’s bodyguards.
Another servant stepped forward to grab Serena’s wheelchair. Claire Sullivan coldly looked at Serena, commanding, "If you don’t apologize today, you can’t go anywhere!"
Staring at Claire Sullivan, who resembled her, Serena felt a chill in her heart. She had never known who her father was and had been raised solely by Claire Sullivan. During those years, mother and daughter depended on each other, but now, they had turned into enemies.
When did Claire Sullivan stop loving her, and when did Claire Sullivan begin to hate her?
Was it that night four years ago when the incident occurred, or when Claire Sullivan brought Zoe Quinn and Joel into the Sullivan Family?
Distant memories, Serena was unwilling to recall. Sitting calmly in her wheelchair, she smiled and said, "Zoe Quinn, I’m sorry."
Serena said it, a matter of a few words, she wouldn’t fuss over it with herself.
However, the light words left Claire Sullivan stunned and unable to react, and Zoe Quinn in the hospital room burst into tears sadly.
What Zoe Quinn wanted could not possibly be Serena’s indifferent apology.
"You!" Claire Sullivan was also dissatisfied, angrily wanting to scold but not knowing what to say.
She made Serena apologize, and Serena obediently apologized, yet she felt it wasn’t enough!
"Mom, I’ve apologized, can I leave now?" Serena asked.
In the hospital corridor, standing off wasn’t a solution. Claire Sullivan wanted to vent Zoe Quinn’s frustration by slapping Serena a few times, but wasn’t afraid to do it—it was the fear of being captured on camera affecting Joel Quinn’s reputation.
"Take her to the Sullivan Family."
This daughter’s legs are paralyzed, and she needs a lesson lest she ruin herself.
And by taking her home, Serena wouldn’t have the chance to cling onto Ethan Grant, then Zoe wouldn’t she just...
Thinking of Zoe’s joy, Claire Sullivan was increasingly satisfied with this idea.
"I’m not going!"
Serena’s voice rang out, she tensed up her face and coldly stared at Claire Sullivan, pulling tightly on the blanket over her legs, the veins on her hands bulging, revealing her inner tension.
