Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 42: Serena Is My Wife
CHAPTER 42: CHAPTER 42: SERENA IS MY WIFE
Grandfather is at the Sullivan Family, she just went to see him.
But to ask her to move back to the Sullivan Family! No, absolutely impossible!
"Whether you go back or not is not up to you."
"Claire Sullivan!"
At this moment, the furious Serena Sullivan called out Claire Sullivan’s full name. Her voice cold, she reiterated, "I will not go back."
Having said that, she looked at the bodyguards blocked by the Sullivan Family members, the ones left for her by Finn Chandler, who, in a fight, would not be outmatched by the Sullivan’s two bodyguards.
"Where are you going?"
A cold voice came from not far away, followed by the frantic "tap tap tap" of leather shoes hitting the ground.
From the other end of the corridor, a man walked against the light, his perfect looks, innate nobility, and cold aura instantly drawing everyone’s gaze.
Ethan Grant was here!
As he strode forward, Serena Sullivan felt an illusion for a moment.
It was as if, during the years he loved her, each time she was in a predicament, he would suddenly arrive and use various ways to protect her well-being.
Yet all of this was nothing but a dream Serena Sullivan wove for herself.
The man who would rescue her from peril had abandoned her four years ago.
"Ethan, you’re here!"
Claire Sullivan smiled and went forward to greet him.
Ethan Grant, who had approached, ignored Claire Sullivan’s flattery. He glanced at her and then turned his gaze, seemingly unintentionally, to Serena Sullivan, "Where are you taking her?"
A cold question, laced with anger, made Claire Sullivan’s smile freeze, uncertain how to respond with a guilty conscience.
In four years, the eldest son of the Grant Family had transformed into its head.
Just a light remark from him instilled fear.
"I wanted to bring Serena back to the Sullivan Family for a few days, but if she’s unwilling, never mind."
Claire Sullivan forced a smile and replied gently. She initially wanted to directly tell Ethan Grant that Serena had done too many wrong things and that as her mother, she should take her back to be taught. However, catching sight of Ethan Grant’s icy expression, she changed her lines completely.
"Oh!"
Ethan Grant responded casually with no further comment.
Serena Sullivan heard Claire Sullivan change her mind and let her go, curling her lips in a mocking smile, and pushed the wheelchair to have Finn Chandler’s men take her downstairs.
Ethan Grant was here to see Zoe Quinn; there was no point in her staying!
As she left, Claire Sullivan’s voice came from behind, "Ethan, go check on Zoe in the ward quickly. Her face was beaten..."
Serena Sullivan had just reached the corner; she turned her head and saw Claire Sullivan’s eyes slightly red, extremely upset, while Ethan Grant stood with his back to her, his expression unseen.
"Oh! Zoe is so pitiful."
As Claire Sullivan spoke, tears fell. She wiped away the tears with the back of her hand and again said to Ethan Grant, "Ethan, Zoe is in this ward."
She walked to the ward door, and hearing no movement behind her, turned to see Ethan Grant standing sideways where he was, staring down the corridor.
At the end, there was no longer anyone in sight.
"Ethan!"
Claire Sullivan called again, "Zoe would be so happy to see you."
Ethan Grant pulled his thoughts back, looking coldly at the smiling Claire Sullivan, his eyes showing intense disdain and disgust.
This kind of look made Claire Sullivan feel something was wrong.
"Mrs. Quinn, I’m truly amazed."
"I’ve learned what it means to be a stepmother!"
Ethan Grant’s icy words hit Claire Sullivan’s face, her tears welling up but not falling, "It’s just that Serena she..."
"Serena is my wife."
