Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 43: Someone Will Soon Help Her Settle Accounts with Serena Sullivan
CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 43: SOMEONE WILL SOON HELP HER SETTLE ACCOUNTS WITH SERENA SULLIVAN
As soon as he finished speaking, Ethan Grant turned around and walked away.
Claire Sullivan stood still, her mind filled with Ethan’s indifferent and casual words, "Serena is my wife." Why did she feel that Ethan still had feelings for Serena?
The sound of a "clang" came from the hospital room, pulling Claire Sullivan’s thoughts back. She immediately thought about Zoe Quinn inside and quickly pushed the door open.
Just outside, she had heard that Ethan arrived and joyfully got out of bed, wanting to open the door directly.
As she reached the door, she thought about the injury on her face and feared Ethan would despise her, so she hid back under the covers.
She forgot that the injury on her face was caused by Ethan’s orders, her appearance—whether ugly or beautiful—wouldn’t concern Ethan.
She eagerly anticipated Ethan’s entrance, with tears ready in her eyes, but Ethan just dropped those words and left.
Angry, Zoe Quinn could no longer control her emotions after she couldn’t hear his footsteps, and sat up in bed, throwing anything within reach onto the floor.
Claire Sullivan entered and saw the mess and debris scattered around, never having seen Zoe in such a frenzy before, she paused in place.
"Mom!"
The sound of crying echoed, and Claire Sullivan looked up to see a tearful Zoe Quinn, feeling her heart ache.
Zoe’s rampage was because of Ethan’s words, because of Serena.
"Mom’s here."
Claire Sullivan quickly went over to embrace Zoe in bed, gently comforting her, "Zoe, don’t cry anymore, mom’s here with you."
"Mom." Zoe sobbed, gritting her teeth, "Sister really took Ethan away from me, and Ethan never wants me anymore."
"Help me, won’t you?"
She pleaded, looking up at Claire Sullivan with a pleading look in her eyes.
Those tearful eyes stirred Claire Sullivan’s discomfort. Treating Zoe as her own child, thinking that her own daughter destroyed Zoe’s happiness, and how Joel’s daughter turned out like this, she felt extremely guilty.
"Mom, Ethan doesn’t love me. I might as well die."
Seeing Claire’s hesitation, Zoe intensified her words, making a motion to get out of bed.
Claire quickly pulled her into her arms and agreed outright, "I’ll help you, mom will definitely help you."
Serena took Ethan from Zoe’s hands, and as her mother, seeing her daughter behaving wrongly, it was necessary to educate her. She would help with this matter!
Upon hearing Claire’s agreement, Zoe’s emotions stabilized a bit. Meanwhile, a piece of entertainment news was being broadcast on TV. Nestled in Claire’s embrace, Zoe turned to see the handsome man on the news, her smile growing wider.
Serena, oh Serena, what good does it do you to take Ethan away!
Soon, someone will deliver those slaps for me.
Finn Chandler’s men were pushing Serena to the parking lot; as the car door opened, a man’s hand reached for the wheelchair first.
"I’ll take her back."
Serena turned her head upon hearing the voice, astonished to see Ethan’s stern face appear before her.
How did he get down so quickly?
Based on Zoe’s character, she would cling to him crying for an hour, then subtly curse her for another hour.
The bodyguards stepped forward to block their way when Ethan took Serena.
Ethan’s temper was the opposite; provoking him could cause trouble if Finn’s men were hurt. She smiled and said to the bodyguards, "I know him."
"Tell Finn Chandler, Ethan has taken her away."
Ethan spoke irately, pushing aside the bodyguards blocking the way and leading Serena to another car.
