Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 52: This Idiot Is Even Blinder Than Ethan Grant
CHAPTER 52: CHAPTER 52: THIS IDIOT IS EVEN BLINDER THAN ETHAN GRANT
Ethan appeared to help Serena humiliate Zoe and Sean, and the atmosphere in the design department changed.
"Mr. Grant was so handsome just now!"
His domineering protection of his wife made the female employees’ hearts flutter, filled with pink bubbles.
"Yeah, Serena is married to him now, they are a couple."
They chatted casually, and no one dared to slight Serena, let alone mock or plot against her behind her back.
Of course, some still resented Serena, and as long as Zoe stayed at The Grant Corporation, she would surely fight back.
After Ethan left, Serena went to the office’s small terrace to return Anna’s call.
The door to the terrace was right next to Serena’s office, and it was filled with greenery, various flowers and plants turning the place into a small garden.
"Serena, did Sean do anything to you!"
Before this, Anna had called four or five times, anxious enough to drop her filming plans and come fight Sean.
Anna’s voice was tense, and Serena could sense her worry and fear.
"No!"
Serena didn’t want to recount everything that happened in the design department to Anna. She laughed, "Sean wouldn’t dare, I’m his little aunt after all."
"Little aunt!"
The term left Anna stunned for several seconds before she understood the relationship between Ethan and Sean.
"Rest assured."
"Shouldn’t you give me an explanation for hurting my wife," a phrase jumped into Serena’s mind in the design department office, and she gazed into the distance as if seeing Ethan from four years ago.
He liked calling her Serena with a smile.
He liked touching her hair with a gentle look, smiling mischievously, "My Serena is the prettiest."
After calling her Serena, he liked leaning down to kiss her lips.
Serena!
"Serena!"
Anna’s apologetic voice pulled Serena back from her distant thoughts, her eyes reddening with an aching bitterness as a wave of searing pain swept through her heart.
"If I had known he was coming back earlier, I would have stopped him for you." Anna said angrily on the phone, "Sean is such a moron, even more blind than Ethan."
Four years ago, Sean worshiped Zoe like a goddess, prompting arguments every time Anna saw him.
Serena smiled lightly, "You couldn’t stop him."
Men often don’t cherish what comes easily, but the harder it is to obtain, the more they think about it.
"If he doesn’t come to The Grant Corporation to find me today, he’ll come tomorrow or the day after."
How could Zoe pass up the chance to use Sean as a pawn? She knew too well how to use her weakness to gain sympathy from Claire and others so they would stand up for her.
"Anna."
Anna’s voice became clearer, pulling Serena back, and she averted her gaze, "Zoe didn’t marry Ethan, so she’ll definitely use Sean. She resents you for hitting her last time."
Although Serena didn’t spell it out, Anna understood.
"Also, there’s something I’ve been wanting to ask you."
Anna hesitated, her voice turning anxious, "Sean wants to protect Zoe, let that pig protect her. If he dares because of Zoe, I’ll beat him to a pulp."
She finished speaking quickly, not waiting for Serena to ask her, and changed the subject, "The director is calling me, I’m going to film."
The call ended, Serena smiled lightly, knowing Anna always used the director calling as an excuse to avoid things, and she found the excuse truly lame.
