Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 64: She’s Really Tired of Living
CHAPTER 64: CHAPTER 64: SHE’S REALLY TIRED OF LIVING
"It’s the one Miss Quinn won at The Brilliance Competition four years ago."
"And the surveillance in the design department has been under maintenance these past two days, so there’s no footage of what happened there," Yvette Sterling followed up, which meant there was no surveillance to prove Serena Sullivan’s innocence.
"She must be tired of living!"
Ethan Grant leaned back in his chair, drew a cigarette from the pack on the table, lit it, and started smoking.
He looked coldly at Yvette Sterling, and Yvette knew that Zoe Quinn had once again provoked Mr. Grant.
"Actually, last night I saw that necklace on Miss Quinn’s desk," Yvette recalled last night’s events and said.
Zoe Quinn’s necklace was so dazzling under the lights, it was hard to ignore.
Such a valuable item, it was strange that she left it behind.
"Bring out the hidden surveillance footage." In the smoke, Ethan Grant’s face was vague, and as the smoke dissipated, Yvette saw his eyes were cold to the core. In Serena Sullivan’s office, besides the obvious surveillance, there was also hidden surveillance.
This surveillance, only Yvette Sterling and Ethan Grant knew about it; no one else.
"Yes!" Yvette’s intention for coming was to ask Ethan Grant if they should retrieve the hidden surveillance footage.
As he turned around to make the arrangements, Ethan called him back, "Wait, don’t retrieve it yet."
Yvette was taken aback, uncertain of what Ethan meant by his words. Mr. Grant would never allow them to slander his wife.
The chief quickly arrived, inquired about what transpired, and they approached Serena Sullivan.
"Please come with us."
Serena looked up at the policeman speaking to her and apologetically asked, "Could you tell me why I’m being taken to the police station?"
The chief was taken aback, especially because Serena was sitting in a wheelchair.
No one could see such a beautiful girl rendered incapacitated without feeling regret.
"You stole Miss Quinn’s necklace, and you still want to deny it?" Shannon Shaw said angrily; could Serena still argue at such a point?
"When did I ever take her necklace? Could there be some misunderstanding?" Serena replied with a smile.
Her words made Zoe Quinn and Shannon Shaw exchange looks. Earlier, when they accused Serena of stealing the necklace, Serena didn’t deny it, so naturally, everyone assumed she was admitting it.
Now that the police were here, she was denying it, truly thinking they had no evidence?
"Miss Sullivan," Shannon called out mockingly, no longer referring to Serena as "madam."
"You took the necklace. You want evidence? I’ll give it to you!"
As Shannon spoke, she went over and opened Zoe Quinn’s computer, "Miss Quinn hid a micro camera in the potted plant on her desk, which just caught you taking the necklace."
Saying this, the computer screen popped open, and a video appeared in front of Serena and the chief.
People outside also crowded in to see the video on the computer.
In the video, Serena Sullivan, sitting in a wheelchair, approached and picked up the necklace on the desk.
The event, just seconds long, was clearly captured, showing that it was Serena who took the necklace.
"Miss Sullivan, do you have anything else to say now?" Shannon asked smugly, while Zoe Quinn secretly pursed her mouth in satisfaction.
Now, Serena was surely going to be taken to the police station.
"In this video, you only see me picking up the necklace, not putting it in my pocket." Serena smiled calmly, showing no respect for this evidence.
