CHAPTER 91: CHAPTER 91: NOT INSIDE

The door was pushed open, and Zoe Quinn was the first to go in and switch on the light at the entrance. There was no sign of Serena Sullivan in the brightly lit living room.

"She should be in the room."

It was a suite with a living room and two bedrooms.

One bedroom door was tightly closed, while the other was half open. Zoe Quinn subconsciously headed towards the room with the open door.

Under the light, men’s clothes were scattered all over the floor by the bed. The keen-sensed reporters immediately felt that something was amiss.

Zoe Quinn said Serena was in this room, but now there were men’s clothes and a belt scattered on the floor. Looking at the bed covers, there might be a man under there, or perhaps not just Serena alone.

Could Serena be cheating on Ethan Grant behind his back?

Or did something unexpected happen to her?

Explosive news was right in front of them; the reporters, heedless of Julian Ford standing in front, raised their cameras and quickly pressed the shutter.

Julian Ford, standing at the door, slightly frowned. Ever since he received Ethan Grant’s call, he had a premonition that something was about to happen.

As guests and reporters gathered around, he was about to tell someone to drive them out when his handsome eyes landed on the clothes on the floor again. He paused; his perfect face turned shadowy under the illumination of the light.

"Sister!"

Amidst the reporters’ and guests’ discussions, Zoe Quinn timely spoke, calling out in a panic.

Afraid that Julian Ford would drive the spectators out for Ethan Grant’s sake, she quickly moved to the bedside, reaching to pull the covers, incredulously saying, "How could you do something that betrays Brother Ethan!"

She wanted to seize the advantage so that when they saw the people under the covers, everyone would think Serena seduced Shane instead of Shane Shaw forcing Serena.

Not only did she want Serena defiled, but also her reputation to be utterly destroyed.

As the covers were pulled back, reporters stood by the bedside with cameras ready, shutters snapping rapidly. When they stood up and saw the man under the covers, they were stunned!

Zoe Quinn didn’t glance as she pulled back the covers, her head lowered, tearfully questioning Serena why she would betray Ethan Grant. In her dramatic cry, she heard the reporters’ puzzled and shocked voices.

"What’s going on?"

"Where is Serena Sullivan?"

Zoe Quinn lifted her head in confusion, seeing only a naked man on the bed. She stood there, dumbfounded.

There was no Serena Sullivan, only Shane Shaw alone.

Everyone in the room was stunned except for Julian Ford, who pursed his lips. It seemed Ethan Grant was overly worried; this entire play was under Serena’s control.

"Impossible!"

With tears in her eyes, Zoe Quinn shook her head and backed away. She clearly pushed Serena in, watched Shane go in, and even had someone outside watching. How could Serena not be here?

A flash of realization struck her, and Zoe Quinn suddenly thought of something. She turned and quickly headed out.

The reporters followed her as she exited the room, moving into the living room.

The living room was visible at a glance; there was no place to hide anyone. Only the room next door had its door tightly closed.

Zoe Quinn walked to the door, staring intently at the doorknob, her mouth curling into a contemptuous smile.

Did Serena think hiding would help?

Where could she possibly run with those useless legs?

Zoe Quinn gripped the doorknob tightly, and as she opened the door, her eyes reddened, tears quickly welled up, and she called out pitifully, "Sister!"
