Chapter 235 - 235 235 Do You Want to See Him_1
Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Do You Want to See Him_1 Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Do You Want to See Him_1 Jian Manhui burst into loud laughter at the side, pointing at the screen and speaking to Su Wanxia, who was lying in bed, “Wanxia, did you hear that? Shanshan actually said her mommy’s surname is Su. I bet you’ve been exposed. With the skills of those reporters, if the surname Su isn’t you, they’ll trace it back to you for sure, not to mention it actually is you—”
Su Wanxia had already lied down and ‘played dead’ on the bed, and now, the little one had blurted out both her real mom and dad’s identities. How was she going to have any peace after this?
Wiping a sorrowful tear from her heart, Su Wanxia covered her head with the blanket, and feigned death as she said to Jian Manhui, “Manhui, I just want some quiet—”
Jian Manhui pursed her lips, turned off the television with a flick of her hand, having seen all that she needed to see.
She crossed her arms, stood beside the bed, and looked at Su Wanxia’s pathetic figure, slowly saying, “Who’s quiet? Do you want him, Mu Yingchen, to know about it?”
Su Wanxia felt so helpless. At a time like this, she was still in the mood to joke with her.
“Manhui, do you think I should see him?” She threw off the blanket, sat up half-bodied, and looked seriously at Jian Manhui.
She wanted to see him, yet she was afraid to—
But looking at the situation now, whether to see or not to see, what was the right thing to do?
The news might have already reached the Mu Family by now. Mu Yingchen’s mother and grandfather would definitely know of Shanshan’s existence and could deduce that she was Shanshan’s mother.
What was worse, that little girl Shanshan was now with Mu Yingchen—God, she felt like she was going crazy!
“Now that everyone knows, you’ll have to meet him whether you want to or not. If you don’t, Mu Yingchen will definitely keep Shanshan by his side until you show up,” she said.
Su Wanxia sighed in utter helplessness, then became mushy again, lying flat on the bed, her eyes blankly staring at the ceiling.
“Given the circumstances, just let me have a couple of days of peace—”
“Alright then, you take your time to think it over—”

Mu Yingchen took Shanshan around C City for a large circuit but didn’t spot even a shadow of Su Wanxia.
He had looked at Jian Manhui’s place, no luck.
He called Su Wanxia, phone off, Jian Manhui’s too.
Then he went looking for Yan Yirou, not there.
Kang Xiaolan, no sign of her either.
Gong Yining was performing out of town, not in C City, so there was even less of a chance.
With all this fuss, everyone knew that Su Wanxia had returned, and even more convincingly, the news reports were confirmed as true—the little bun was indeed the child of Mu Yingchen and Su Wanxia.
Everyone was shocked, but what shocked them even more was that Su Wanxia had the audacity to leave her lovely little bun with Mu Yingchen and bolt, tail between her legs.
No matter where Mu Yingchen searched, he couldn’t find her. If she wasn’t at a friend’s, then she was surely at a hotel.
But with C City being so big and so many hotels, it wasn’t something he could just figure out quickly.
So, while urging his people to search faster, Mu Yingchen took Shanshan back to the Su Family’s place.
When Su Ran saw the pitiful father and daughter outside the door, he couldn’t help but chuckle mockingly, “Well, if it isn’t young master Mu. What’s the matter? Your woman ditched you?”
Mu Yingchen gave him a cold look, “Does your woman want you?” After dropping this chilly remark, he ignored Su Ran, hugging Shanshan and heading straight inside as if he owned the place.
Su Ran stood behind him, pursing her lips in disbelief; she hadn’t expected Mu Yingchen to have such a poisonous tongue.
The moment they saw him in the living room, Su’s father and mother immediately stood up, unsure of how to properly host him.
He was Shanshan’s father, and they were Shanshan’s maternal grandparents. They were family by all accounts, but—his relationship with Wanxia, that was indeed quite complicated.
“Hehe, Yingchen, have you found Wanxia?” Su’s father was the first to speak up. He was also very worried about the girl. What if she went too far away?
“Not yet, has she—did she call back?” Mu Yingchen bent down to put Shanshan on the ground as he asked Su’s father and mother.
“No—” Su’s father and mother shook their heads at the same time.
Mu Yingchen didn’t doubt them. That woman’s phone had been off all the time; she must not have returned any calls.
“Shanshan, didn’t you say you were going to bring your Aunty Manman back with you? Where is she?” Su Ran walked over too, teasingly looking at Shanshan.
Shanshan pouted her little mouth, looking pitifully at Su Ran with a smile on his face, “Uncle Ran, where is Mommy? Is she angry with me? Does she plan to not want me anymore?”
She and Daddy had been searching for such a long time without finding her; she must have angered Mommy.
The more Shanshan thought about it, the more wronged she felt, and her big, bright eyes began to redden with upset.
Seeing her like this, everyone’s hearts inevitably softened.
Mu Yingchen squatted down, towering and straight, and tenderly comforted her as he stroked her little shoulders, “Don’t worry, your Mommy isn’t angry with you. She’s playing a game with Daddy. Once Daddy finds her, she will come out—”
“Really?” Shanshan looked up uncertainly at her handsome and distinguished dad.
“Really, why would Daddy lie to you?” Mu Yingchen gently patted her adorable little head.
Shanshan then obediently nodded her head. Maybe Daddy was telling the truth. In the past, when she and Yaoyao asked Mommy why she wouldn’t meet Daddy, Mommy said the same thing, telling them she was playing a game with Daddy.
Whenever this happened, they would ask what kind of game, and then Mommy would furrow her brows in thought for a while before telling them, “It’s a game about chasing life.”
They certainly didn’t understand what that meant. If they asked further, Mommy would say little kids couldn’t understand it and that she would explain it to them when they grew up.
Shanshan shrugged her little shoulders. Okay then, she would join Daddy in looking for her—
Watching Shanshan’s small demeanor, Mu Yingchen’s heart ached uncontrollably. Why, even now, did she still refuse to see him?
As he was thinking, a ringtone suddenly sounded. Mu Yingchen stood up, and with some nervousness, took out his phone. He thought there might be news about Su Wanxia, but when he saw the incoming call alert, his brows immediately furrowed.
“I’m going out to take a call.” He briefly informed everyone with a detached tone and then walked out with his phone.
Once outside, he answered the call.
“Mom—”
“Yingchen, where are you? Where is my precious granddaughter now? Are you two together?” came Mu’s mother’s voice from the phone, brimming with excitement.
Mu Yingchen’s brow furrowed even deeper, “Who told you?” Although he had mentioned it in front of his company’s employees, how had it spread to his mother so quickly?
“No one told me. Your grandfather and I found out from the news. You rascal, you have such a darling granddaughter and you didn’t even tell us—” Mu’s mother’s tone was both angry and happy, but clearly the anger was feigned, and the happiness was genuine.
When she saw the adorable little girl claim her father was Yingchen, she could hardly believe it. Then she immediately called the company and got confirmation. She also learned that he announced in front of all the company executives that the little girl was his daughter.
This news delighted her and the old man to no end—
