Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!
Chapter 119: Emergency Contraceptive Pill
CHAPTER 119: CHAPTER 119: EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVE PILL
"Clever." Ethan Sterling gazed at her, his lips drawing nearer, almost about to kiss her.
"But you see so clearly, is it because you know me, or because of that boy from the Lynch Family?"
Ethan Sterling clasped Seraphina Redgrave’s waist, enclosing her wholly in his embrace, his voice magnetic yet dangerous.
Seraphina Redgrave didn’t move, just frowned at him: "I don’t understand what you’re saying."
Why did he suddenly start getting jealous in the middle of the conversation?
Ethan’s grip on Seraphina’s waist tightened, his lips touched her ear as he leisurely spoke: "He used to like you, and in danger, you thought of him first."
His investigation was indeed thorough.
Ethan’s breath was scorching, making Seraphina’s ears uncomfortably warm, so she reached out her hand to push him away: "There’s nothing between Leo Lynch and me."
She understood what kind of person Ethan was; being rescued by him had categorized her as his personal possession.
Now that there was a tangible relationship, Ethan’s desire for control would only increase.
"Oh? Then why did he call off his wedding in agitation after hearing about what happened back then?"
Ethan’s amber eyes looked at Seraphina as if trying to draw her into them.
"What does his reaction have to do with me?"
Seraphina still couldn’t comprehend Ethan’s thought process.
Yet, this bewildered expression delighted Ethan, who kissed Seraphina’s neck, softly exclaiming: "Seraphina, you are indeed heartless."
Heartless is fine.
If she developed feelings for another man, he’d have to deal with it.
To Seraphina, this pointless conversation felt unnecessary to continue, so she tried to change the topic: "Why did you come back so early today?"
It’s still afternoon.
Shouldn’t a consortium be busy?
Hearing Seraphina’s words, Ethan’s expression shifted slightly, repeating her words: "Come back?"
Besides his late sister, finally, someone is willing to wait for him to return.
It’s nice.
Ethan was instantly pleased, opened the car door, and said to Seraphina: "Come on, let’s go home."
Seraphina still couldn’t figure this man out and was dragged into the car by Ethan.
Ethan also returned to the driver’s seat, and the car door slowly closed.
The car started along the maple tree path where the sun could not be seen.
Ethan held the steering wheel with one hand and retrieved a pillbox from somewhere, tossing it to Seraphina: "Take it as per the instructions when we get back."
What?
Seraphina took the pillbox, and on closer inspection, saw it was labeled "Emergency Contraception."
Earlier, she’d been so consumed by the pain of Nanny Lynch leaving before her eyes that she’d forgotten they hadn’t used any protection the previous night.
"Got it, do you have any water?"
Seraphina looked at Ethan, thinking it was safer to take it sooner rather than later.
Ethan looked at Seraphina: "Don’t you want to know why I bought you this medication?"
What is there to ask?
As a woman temporarily kept by Ethan, not using protection and not taking medication—was she asking for trouble?
How could the Sterling family accept a child born of a woman from the forbidden zone?
Seraphina saw no need to overthink it, glanced around, found an expensive-looking bottle of mineral water, read the instructions, and took the pill dutifully.
Seraphina’s lack of hesitation annoyed Ethan: "Are you so unwilling to bear my child?"
Couldn’t even wait until getting back, had to take the pill in the car.
"You bought the medication and gave the order; I took the pill, and you’re still blaming me?"
Seraphina retorted, looking at Ethan, her gaze clear.
Ethan found himself stumped, feeling something was wrong but couldn’t pinpoint it.
Frowning, he stopped the car, then glared at her viciously, speaking with displeasure: "I could make you take it every day, how about that?"
Every day?
Seraphina frowned, feeling that such a life would become a burden.
Ethan unbuckled Seraphina’s seatbelt, pulling her to his front, looking at her with displeasure: "Seraphina, you can’t do this; even if I put the pill in your hand, you’re supposed to refuse me, then say you love me and want to bear my child."
Even throwing a tantrum would be fine.
Can’t behave with such indifference.
Was Ethan out of his mind?
What does he mean by putting the pill in her hand, and she still has to say she loves him and wants to bear a child?
Seraphina looked at Ethan’s hand gripping her wrist, then up at his displeased eyes, and spoke in confusion: "I don’t understand what Young Master Sterling means."
She clearly marked her position and obeyed him—was that wrong?
Ethan clamped her chin, forcing her to look up, speaking viciously: "What I say goes. Now, say ’I love you’ for me."
They’ve already done the most intimate things—what’s there to agonize over?
Seraphina thought it better to resolve it quickly and go home, so she started without further thought: "I..."
But looking at Ethan’s sharp features and those glassy eyes, she couldn’t utter the words.
Ethan watched Seraphina, tilting his head as if waiting for her next two words.
His grip on her chin increased, but Seraphina couldn’t bring herself to say it. A single maple leaf, blown by the wind, floated leisurely onto the sports car’s roof.
After a long while, Ethan chuckled coldly.
He gradually released Seraphina, glaring into her eyes, speaking viciously: "I really want to just dump you here, then drive over and run you down with my car."
Ideally, crush you into a pulp!
This ungrateful little brat, thanking him on one hand yet unable to say ’I love you.’
Seraphina fell silent; she didn’t know why she couldn’t say it.
"Seraphina, don’t celebrate too early; just wait until I don’t like you anymore, and see if you can still leave with an intact body."
For now, he couldn’t bear it, but he’d remember this debt!
After saying this, Ethan didn’t do anything further to Seraphina and instead started the car again, continuing towards Hibiscus Garden.
Seraphina, who had been running for a long time, was slow to return.
She leaned against the seatback, rolled down the window, and watched the beautiful scenery outside, the rushing river behind the woods, and the far-off fields.
She saw her indifferent eyes reflected in the car window.
The Redgrave Family’s matters were settled, but where should she go now?
Ethan glanced at Seraphina, then pulled out a box from somewhere, throwing it to her: "Throw it away."
Seraphina saw it was her favorite strawberry candy.
Seraphina remained silent.
The window was open, allowing the wind to constantly blow into the car, lifting her beautiful black hair.
If Ethan truly cared for her, he’d know that medication harms the body, but if he didn’t, he remembered her preferences all too well.
