CHAPTER 136: CHAPTER 136: TROUBLES DURING THE EXAM

The exam on that day was anything but calm.

In the exam hall, Seraphina Redgrave had just found her seat when she discovered the chair was broken. By the time she reported it to the invigilator and got her seat changed, she had already wasted ten minutes of exam time.

Seraphina checked the chair, noting that it had been violently dismantled.

She glanced around at the other students taking the exam and, as expected, spotted the girl who had previously hung around Selena Quinn.

How ridiculous. Who knows which wire got crossed in their brain, thinking they could try something against her.

Seraphina said nothing, sat in her new seat, and looked at the exam paper in front of her, which had two extra test questions beneath it.

The questions were clearly labeled as optional and would not count toward the grades of regular students.

Seraphina took out a pen and began answering.

She wrote quickly, seemingly without needing to look at the questions or think. She just began filling in answers on the answer sheet, completing most of it in less than ten minutes. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a girl looking nervous, holding something in her hand, intending to throw it towards her seat.

Even during exams, there are people like this who are aggravating.

Seraphina’s expression turned cold as she precisely stepped on the thing that was thrown. It was clearly a piece of paper folded into a square, which she then kicked back.

The girl clearly didn’t expect Seraphina to act so quickly and, before she could attempt a second setup, Seraphina stood up. "Teacher, I just saw that girl doing something under the table. The evidence is at her feet, why don’t you take a look?"

Huh?!!

How did she see that? Wasn’t she just focused on answering questions? How did she see through the scheme so quickly?

The invigilator came over, picked up the paper on the floor, which was indeed under the feet of the girl who had acted.

It was covered in answers, precisely.

The teacher’s expression immediately became icy as he looked at the girl, whose face had turned pale, knowing that there was no escape now.

"Leave your name here, submit your paper, and leave."

"Teacher, it wasn’t me!" The girl stood up, pointing her finger at Seraphina, "She’s the one who threw the paper. I don’t know why she would do this, but she’s definitely framing me!"

The invigilator looked toward Seraphina after hearing this.

Seraphina had already sat back down, looking indifferent to the commotion, and continued writing her exam.

What’s with this girl?

The teacher, having been undermined, walked over with some displeasure, but saw that Seraphina was working on the extra test questions, looking completely resolute, writing without a hint of hesitation.

This is...

These questions were designed to test the best of the best, and only some of the top students could attempt them. Other students, even some teachers, wouldn’t be able to answer them at all.

The invigilator glanced down, noticing the topic was about understanding laws from different countries, presented with seemingly simple prompts but requiring extensive knowledge, almost as if one needed to memorize all historic laws across all nations to answer them.

One might think it’s just a guess?

"Student Quinn, that girl accuses you of owning the paper. Do you have anything to say?"

The teacher suddenly remembered his duty, cleared his throat, interrupting Seraphina’s train of thought.

Such a hassle.

Seraphina paused her writing before continuing, saying while writing, "The accuracy of what’s written doesn’t even reach one-tenth of mine."

The teacher opened the paper, comparing a few of the choices, and found the answers entirely different. He understood immediately. "Alright, no more disturbing the other students. If you have anything more to say, take it to the office."

The girl’s tears were about to fall.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to go.

With no mischief-maker left, Seraphina managed to answer the questions smoothly.

Though she didn’t understand what she had done to make the girl target her, the subsequent exams weren’t free of trouble, with broken desks and chairs, problematic exam papers, and even someone drugging her water bottle. The most ridiculous was someone coming to the school pretending to bring bad news about her family, urging her to leave immediately...

This exam was like dealing with petty annoyances, the kind meant solely to disgust one.

Seraphina solved each issue one by one, with the last exam in the computer room.

The exam preparation bell rang before the teacher let them into the lab, and it was only when Seraphina entered that she realized the invigilator was a familiar face.

It was Teacher Young, who nearly prevented her admission to The Law School, and whom she had cornered into silence.

Just as Seraphina sat in her seat, she heard a soft cough from next to her.

She turned her head to see Selena Quinn sitting in the adjacent seat, smiling apologetically as she spoke, "Sorry, I have a bit of a cough sometimes, it might disturb you."

Seraphina glanced at her, raised an eyebrow, and replied, "It’s fine, I don’t mind."

"There’s one minute left before the exam starts, students, please maintain silence!"

It was Teacher Young’s fierce voice, and when Seraphina turned back, she saw him glaring at her as if he would swallow her whole.

Seraphina was unfazed, opened her computer, and entered her exam registration number.

As soon as she clicked login, the screen went black.

Soon after, there appeared strings of green garbled text.

It was a virus.

Looking at the garbled text on the computer, Seraphina let out a cold laugh.

"Teacher Young, my computer’s been infected with a virus."

Hearing this, many students turned to look at Seraphina, and Selena gently said, "It’s okay, you can just switch to a different one."

"Everyone is in the middle of an exam, where can we find a spare?" Professor Young retorted arrogantly, glancing at Seraphina’s machine before sneering, "Why is it that everyone else’s computers are fine, but yours has a problem?"

"How can that be her fault?" Selena spoke up for Seraphina, "Teacher Young, wouldn’t it be possible to borrow a computer from another room? I’m sure all the school’s computers have the exam software installed, right?"

Teacher Young looked at Selena; she was the president of the Elite Society and the heiress of the Sterling Consortium. With her authority and wealth, even the principal would not dare to cross her, let alone a mere teacher like him.

Seeing Selena speak up for Seraphina, Teacher Young conceded, "Fine, I’ll have someone bring a computer now."

"Thank you, Teacher Young."

Selena said with a gentle smile, as though her own issue had been resolved, then turned to Seraphina, "With a new computer, you’ll be okay! Keep going!"

Seraphina sat still, gazing at Selena without a move.

Selena looked back with some confusion and asked, "What’s wrong?"

"It’s nothing, I just think Student Quinn really likes helping others."

The coldness in Seraphina’s eyes made it clear she wasn’t genuinely complimenting her.

Selena looked at Seraphina innocently, "Sylvia, why would you say that?"

Seraphina said no more, turning back to wait for her replacement computer.

Half an hour passed in the blink of an eye, and the computer had still not arrived.
