Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!
Chapter 151: Is Ethan Sterling Interested in Her?
CHAPTER 151: CHAPTER 151: IS ETHAN STERLING INTERESTED IN HER?
Nathan Ayers, still feeling the effects of the alcohol, followed behind Ethan Sterling, showing a look of accustomed indifference as he observed the silent attention around him.
Ethan Sterling entered The Sterling Family’s old mansion, glanced casually around—nothing on the right, on the left...
He quickly spotted those distinctive black and white eyes within the crowd.
Seraphina Redgrave stood among the guests, her eyes meeting Ethan’s in the air. Ethan’s gaze immediately became deep, carrying a glint of desire.
She tensed up slightly; would Ethan really come over regardless?
"Who is Ethan looking at?"
"Seems like it’s here!"
The girls beside Seraphina were trembling with excitement, seemingly about to faint.
Suddenly, Seraphina felt a space beside her, as Selena Quinn stepped forward in her gown to get in front of Ethan.
Selena, always smiling gently, looked even more charming in front of Ethan, "Ethan, you’re here."
After Selena said this, everyone assumed Ethan was here because of her.
The seasoned executives, unlike those superficial girls who only cared about appearances, were now calculating their plans, exchanging knowing glances privately.
Looks like the rumor outside was wrong; Ethan and Selena’s relationship seems quite close.
Everyone was thinking this, but Ethan didn’t spare a glance for Selena, nor said a word, as he walked forward, his eyes sweeping briefly over Seraphina.
He walked straight ahead.
Seraphina finally breathed a sigh of relief.
It was then she realized that no matter how composed she might be at Hibiscus Garden, here and now, she didn’t want to have anything to do with Ethan.
Leo Lynch stood in the crowd, looking at Ethan, then at Seraphina, with indescribable feelings in his heart.
"Ethan, I’m glad you could come."
Chloe Quinn stepped down with her arm hooked around today’s protagonist, happily standing in front of Ethan.
Ryan Sterling’s expression remained stern, his face dark as he looked at Ethan without uttering a word.
Looking at the two of them, Ethan finally spoke his first words since arriving: "A marriage born of deceit, how dare you host such a lavish event."
As soon as these words were spoken, the hall fell into complete silence.
Chloe’s expression froze immediately, unable to say a word.
"You!"
Ryan was about to explode but was held back by Chloe, her eyes pleading desperately, begging him not to show their bad relationship with Ethan at such an occasion.
It was significant enough that Ethan tolerated them hosting the banquet.
If things really escalated, without any real power, they wouldn’t even be able to live like they did before.
The executives exchanged another wave of eye signals.
Alright, they thought too much, indeed Young Master Sterling’s family relations aren’t good.
Selena stood below, her face froze for a moment, but she quickly reverted to her gentle demeanor, walking over to Ethan’s side and said sweetly, "You must be tired coming home so late, Ethan. Let me make you some coffee."
Ethan completely ignored Seraphina, sitting down on the nearby sofa.
The sofa was brown, making him appear even more intimidating in his all-black attire.
In Z Country, manners are traditionally valued; for Ethan to sit while his parents stood, in any ordinary family, it’d be unforgivable.
But he was Ethan; whatever he did, nobody dared say anything.
Seeing Ethan had no intention of paying attention to Selena, Selena showed no displeasure, still smiled while saying, "Then I’ll go make the coffee for Ethan."
After speaking, Selena left.
The hall was silent as a grave.
Seraphina didn’t go forward; instead, she messaged Ethan.
"Seraphina Redgrave: Why did you come over?"
Seated on the sofa, Ethan carried an aura of aloofness, leg crossed, seemingly disregarding others’ gazes.
Suddenly, he glanced at his phone, a trace of an almost imperceptible smile flashed in his eyes.
Seraphina saw Ethan operating his phone for a few moments, then he directly shut it off, tossing the phone to Nathan Ayers.
No reply came.
So he didn’t attend the banquet for her?
Thinking of this relieved Seraphina, she turned around, ready to leave.
Chloe felt the atmosphere was too tense and decided to step up with a fawning tone: "Ethan, would you be willing to do the opening dance?"
"What are you saying?"
Ryan’s face was full of displeasure; they were the protagonists of today’s banquet, yet Chloe invited Ethan to open the dance.
"It’s rare for Ethan to visit." Chloe was all smiles, cautiously approaching Ethan: "Ethan, since you’re here, why not lead the dance?"
Actually, Chloe didn’t think Ethan would show her a pleasant face by saying this.
Sitting on the sofa, Ethan lifted his gaze upon hearing this, his tone devoid of emotion: "Didn’t bring a partner."
He didn’t refuse?
Chloe and Ryan were stunned; Chloe quickly spoke up, "I’ll handle it, Selena brought a lot of classmates today, young and pretty, surely there’s someone to your liking."
An executive noticed the attention being attracted here and immediately pushed his female companion forward: "Young Master Sterling, if you wish, you could dance with her; she’s won a gold in dance."
The woman being pushed forth seemed quite proportionate.
Yet Ethan paid no mind to that executive, looking towards the guests, where Serena Lowell was.
Was Ethan really going to choose someone among Selena’s classmates to dance?
Would it be her?
Selena’s classmates blushed with excitement.
Even Serena Lowell, who already considered Leo an object of secret admiration, couldn’t help but start to fantasize, putting on a dramatic smile hoping Ethan would notice her.
Just as Selena brought over the coffee and heard these words, her eyes flickered, and she hurriedly raised her gown to head back.
Stepping in front of Ethan, she spoke looking at him: "Ethan, I’ve been recently learning ballroom dance, how about..."
Ethan got up, pushed Selena aside, and turned into the midst of the guests.
Selena was almost knocked to the ground by the push, feeling a gust of wind pass, carrying Ethan’s distinct fierce aura, rendering her voiceless.
The girls in the guest crowd began to cautiously exclaim.
The sound grew uncontrollable the further Ethan walked.
Guests gave way to Ethan, then followed to see who he really intended to find.
Seraphina already knew what would happen by now.
Please, don’t come over, she begged.
But prayer was in vain; Ethan stood right before her, causing Seraphina to hold her breath.
Ethan stood among the crowd in front of her, looking at her clear eyes, reached out his hand: "Come."
It was like summoning a small pet.
The girls continued their exclamations; Serena Lowell was burning with fury.
What was it with these men, one after another? It was unbearable enough that Leo only liked Seraphina, but even Ethan had chosen Seraphina first among so many girls.
Were they all blind!
One stone stirred a thousand waves.
The Elite Society members stood together, witness to the scene, expressions darkening, especially Caleb Crawford, whose face appeared even worse.
President Dawson, who had previously lectured Seraphina, was utterly shocked, almost dropping his jaw.
Could Ethan really be interested in her?
