CHAPTER 162: CHAPTER 162: AS LONG AS I’M HERE

"With me here, you won’t live that life again." Ethan Sterling looked at the jade bracelet on Seraphina Redgrave’s hand and said.

"Of course, I won’t go back."

At the moment she stepped out of the forbidden zone, she knew what she truly wanted.

The days of the past, she wouldn’t let anyone live through them again.

Suddenly, she felt a weight on her shoulder. Ethan Sterling placed his arm around Seraphina Redgrave’s shoulder, like Brother Hawk wasn’t dead, but his damp hand didn’t touch her.

"From now on, when you see the sunrise, think of me. There’s no need to dwell on those hard days."

Ethan’s lips curved slightly.

Seraphina was speechless and decided never to watch the sunrise again.

Seraphina couldn’t push Ethan’s hand away, so the two of them stood on the terrace watching the sun gradually rise into the sky, illuminating the whole of Sovereign and bathing the entire Sterling Family in a warm glow.

"Want to sleep for a bit?"

No idea how long they could sleep and whether they’d be able to attend class the next day.

"Let’s go."

Ethan hugged Seraphina and turned to head into the bedroom.

Standing in front of the bedroom, a thought crossed Seraphina’s mind. She couldn’t help wanting to speak but held back, fearing she’d overstep.

"Say what you want to say."

Ethan’s focus was entirely on Seraphina, so how could he not notice that she wanted to say something?

"It’s nothing."

"Say it."

Alright then.

After all, you’re the one insisting.

Seraphina turned to meet Ethan’s amber eyes: "I was just thinking, your mother and sister had their wills written. You..."

"Naturally, I’ve written mine too. Can’t have all my assets going to Ryan Sterling if I die."

Ethan looked at Seraphina, raising an eyebrow, "Why ask about it? Want me to leave my estate to you?"

Ethan’s mind wandered who knows where. Seraphina spoke seriously, "No, I just wanted to ask. I have no interest in your assets."

"Even if you were interested, you couldn’t have them. You’ve only been by my side for a few days and you’re already eyeing my inheritance?"

Ethan spoke coldly.

At least spend more time with me.

But if she really wanted it, he’d reluctantly give it to her.

His mother’s and sister’s wills included him, but his will had no one’s name.

If he could mention someone in his will, that would be nice.

"How dare I."

Seraphina forced a smile, please don’t, there’s no way I’d dare take The Sterling Family’s money.

"That’s good."

Ethan thought for a moment, tomorrow he’d need to have Nathan Ayers find a lawyer to inquire about changing the will.

To see exactly how much he could leave for Seraphina.

In the morning at Sovereign College, the gates were open, countless students coming in and out.

Serena Lowell’s family car drove away from the school entrance. Wearing expensive clothes, sporting exquisite makeup, she walked into the school with an air of pride.

"Hello."

Just as she passed the grove, she heard a cold greeting.

Serena was startled, turned her head to see Seraphina Redgrave in casual attire eating porridge and pastries bought from the school cafeteria under a stone table in the grove.

She seemed in no hurry at all.

Serena’s expression changed immediately, clutching her bag tightly: "What do you want?"

How could there be no one around?

Seraphina smiled mischievously and spoke slowly to Serena, "Serena, haven’t I told you not to come to the school anymore?"

If she came again, Seraphina would have to take action.

"You dare!" Serena almost screamed, her voice breaking as she growled low, "Selena Quinn arranged to meet me. She’s coming to find me in a bit!"

Hearing this, Seraphina laughed even more, drinking the last of her porridge, then wiping her mouth and standing up slowly: "Why do you always look so foolish? I’m Sylvia Shaw, when have I ever cared about a dog’s owner while dealing with it?"

Serena’s expression instantly soured.

"What’s there to be afraid of? Weren’t you quite the dancer at the banquet?"

Seraphina laughed joyfully, reaching for a glass bottle on the stone table, its contents unknown.

What is that?

Serena’s eyes widened in horror, attempting to run.

Seraphina wouldn’t let her escape, pulling her back and opening the bottle in her hand.

"Help!"

Serena stumbled to her knees, nearly unable to stand, trembling and struggling, every cell in her body resisting Seraphina’s approach.

Seraphina watched her squirm like a maggot and calmly poured the contents of the bottle over Serena’s head.

Serena’s screams echoed throughout the campus, her entire being shivering.

Doomed.

Her face! Her face!

Wait, it doesn’t hurt?

After screaming for a while, Serena realized, somewhat dazed, staring at Seraphina.

Seraphina released Serena, placing the empty bottle into a garbage bag she had prepared, speaking calmly: "What’s there to fear? It’s just makeup remover."

"Huh?"

Serena’s face was drenched, looking utterly bewildered at Seraphina.

"Serena, remember this. This is my warning to you. If you plan any more tricks, you best stop now, or else..."

Seraphina paused for a moment, her smile turning cold and her gaze even colder: "Next time, you’ll learn what cruelty truly is."

With that, Seraphina picked up the trash on the stone table and walked away.

Serena stood there trembling for a long time before daring to touch her face, now smeared with foundation, eyeshadow, and mascara.

She took out a small mirror for a glance, her face now a tragic rainbow, like a toppled palette.

Some students passed by, unable to suppress their laughter at the sight of Serena’s face.

Serena, both humiliated and furious, glared fiercely at Seraphina’s retreating figure. Sylvia Shaw, how dare you do this to me.

Today is the day the art department exam results are announced, just wait and see, I’ll infuriate you!

Monday.

The whole school gathered in the auditorium to listen to the principal summarize last week’s work and outline the tasks for the upcoming week.

The teachers, utterly lazy, altered a few words in last week’s script to use again this week.

Seraphina yawned in boredom when she saw someone approaching.

Propping her head, Seraphina looked to the side, noticing Ronan Yates’s alternative hairstyle had turned pure white.

"Why do you look older and older?"

Seraphina mumbled, half-asleep.

"Seraphina, don’t you think this color looks cooler?"

Ronan confidently ran his hands through his hair, sitting beside Seraphina, whispering in her ear: "I heard that an absolutely stunning piece was created in the art department, and the principal plans to praise it today. I’ve got my brothers here to warm up the crowd for you!"

"What’s the connection between an absolutely stunning piece and you bringing people over?"

Ronan, you’re not from The College of Arts.

"Of course there’s a connection. With you here, Seraphina, who else could be number one? You achieved triple S in your exams at The Law School. Painting a piece at The College of Arts must be even simpler."

Ronan was cheerful, "I brought my brothers to cheer you on!"
