CHAPTER 51: CHAPTER 51: BREAK THEIR LEGS

"The young lady’s mind wasn’t clear to begin with, and yet you were so negligent. If she hadn’t gone to the stadium last night and instead got lost, can you imagine the consequences?" Nathan Ayers walked back and forth in the living room, scolding those few people with a look of frustration.

Seraphina Redgrave descended the stairs with Ethan Sterling, her face blank. Listening to this, did they think she had a fit and accidentally ran outside?

She recalled for a moment; the stadium wasn’t far from Hibiscus Garden. If you insisted it was possible for her to run out on her own, it actually made sense.

But still...

Seraphina watched the man’s broad figure in front of her, a trace of doubt flickering in her eyes.

This was Ethan Sterling, the dominant force of Sovereign. Could he really not have had any suspicion given her suspicious behavior last night?

Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman caught sight of Ethan Sterling and Seraphina descending the stairs. They immediately fell to the ground, crying and swearing loyalty: "Sir, it’s our fault for not watching over the young lady. We promise to learn from this and make sure this will never happen again."

"Please spare us, sir!"

They banged their heads against the floor repeatedly.

Ethan Sterling pulled Seraphina onto the sofa, seamlessly drawing her onto his lap, as if she were a puppet completely controlled by him.

"Sir, we beg you to forgive us!"

Their voices were hoarse from yelling.

Ethan Sterling held Seraphina’s slender waist, not even glancing at the two pleading on the ground: "How could I punish my Little Rose for not understanding the rules, but..."

Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman trembled all over, nervously awaiting their fate.

Ethan Sterling lightly waved his hand and signaled to Nathan Ayers: "Break their legs and throw them out of Hibiscus Garden."

Completely disregarding them as human.

Seraphina’s heart tightened, and she slowly turned to look at the cruel man. His gaze was lazy, yet his amber eyes were unusually deep, sending chills down one’s spine.

"Yes."

The two bodyguards dared not delay for a second, drew batons from their waists, and struck directly at Granny Coleman and Nanny Lynch’s legs.

The two screamed in agony, crying out in pain repeatedly.

Ethan Sterling maintained his lazy expression, nonchalantly observing the two fallen figures on the ground.

Seraphina had long heard that Ethan Sterling was difficult to deal with, but those were just rumors. Today, seeing it with her own eyes, she couldn’t help but frown slightly.

"Sir!"

"Please spare us, sir!"

With another series of anguished cries, Nanny Lynch crawled forward and clung to Ethan Sterling’s pant leg.

Ethan Sterling looked down at the servant woman with displeasure etched across his brow. In the next moment, Nanny Lynch was kicked away.

The bodyguards, strictly business-like, did not stop swinging their batons for even a second, while Nathan Ayers seemed accustomed to such scenes, his expression unchanged.

The cries of the two maids grew increasingly pitiful, with their light-colored pant legs subtly stained with blood.

Seraphina’s expression shifted, and she abruptly stood up, using her own body to shield the maids from the falling batons of the bodyguards.

Her face bore a raw terror, her eyes blank as she looked at Ethan Sterling: "No, don’t..."

The bodyguards, seeing Ethan Sterling unmoved, raised their batons to strike in another direction.

"Ahhhhh!!!!!!!"

Seeing Ethan Sterling still had no intention of sparing Granny Coleman and Nanny Lynch, Seraphina began screaming frantically. The bodyguards were taken aback by her sudden burst of strength.

Ethan Sterling frowned from the noise.

The sound was so loud.

Seraphina fiercely protected Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman, feigning great fear, her eyes even deliberately reddened with tears.

Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman, drenched in sweat, turned their heads to look at Seraphina, their voices choked with emotion: "Miss, please return to Young Master Sterling’s side. What if you get hurt?"

She was already not right in the head; if she got physically hurt as well, what then?

Seraphina stubbornly refused to let go.

Nathan Ayers looked at Seraphina’s foolhardy appearance, and clicked his tongue in disbelief. Her acting was too convincing. Last night, surrounded and troubled by a group of rich second generations, she had remained calm and composed, without a hint of defeat. The main culprit ended up suffering greatly. Now, in Nathan’s eyes, this pitiful look was not convincing in the slightest.

The bodyguards were uncertain, unsure of what to do next.

Ethan Sterling sat on the sofa, leaning forward with interest: "It seems my little rose’s mind is clearing up. She’s learning to protect others. Unfortunately, I have never retracted my words once spoken."

Hearing this, the bodyguards understood, intending to pull Seraphina out of the way.

Seraphina, without thinking, rushed to Ethan Sterling and grabbed his pant leg, her eyes red: "No, don’t..."

Her gaze was childlike, like that of an unawakened child.

In reality, she was calculating the odds of at this close range, being able to fight Ethan. She couldn’t accept innocent people getting hurt because of her. She thought if Ethan were to relent, she’d escape with them.

Ethan Sterling, seeing the pitiable Seraphina, a flicker of amusement crossed his eyes.

He observed her clutching his pant leg, looking at her with interest: "Is this all?"

What else could she do? Was he expecting any action from a madwoman?

Seraphina didn’t know what Ethan was after, so she could only tug at his pants more: "Don’t, don’t."

Ethan Sterling leaning closer to Seraphina, his amber eyes locked onto hers, then lightly touched his own lips: "Like this."

Like hell.

Seraphina cursed inwardly, lowering her head, a hint of murderous intent crossing her brow.

Seeing no further movement from her, Ethan gently parted his thin lips: "Who allowed you to stop?"

The bodyguards raised their batons once more.

Seraphina’s fist tightened around Ethan’s pants leg.

Fine!

A kiss, then!

Determined, she quickly pecked Ethan on the corner of his mouth, then sat back down on the floor.

Ethan fixed his gaze on Seraphina, his eyes hid a whirlpool of emotions she couldn’t understand, as if ready to pull her in.

The entire villa was so silent that a pin drop could be heard.

Seraphina couldn’t comprehend what Ethan was thinking, feeling as though she couldn’t keep up the act any longer.

Moments passed before his pleased voice sounded. He lifted Seraphina’s chin, forcing her to look at him: "Good, very obedient. In that case, I have no reason not to forgive them."

As soon as he spoke, both the bodyguards holding the batons and Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman widened their eyes in shock.

Never had it happened before.

The master had never forgiven a servant who made mistakes.

If not for the young lady, their legs would have been broken by now.

Nathan Ayers, watching their interaction, was utterly stunned. No wonder Young Master Sterling wanted his help in keeping it under wraps, it was for this.

To have a woman, wild outside, pretend to pity him and kiss him, could this make Young Master Sterling even more moved?

Ethan Sterling ended up staying in Hibiscus Garden for several days in a row.

In the courtyard, the roses blossomed in the garden, each flower vivid and beautiful, and even the occasional breeze carried a faint fragrance of roses.
