Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 118: Why Are You So Nervous?
CHAPTER 118: WHY ARE YOU SO NERVOUS?
Hilla had a moment of embarrassment and timidity towards Bruce’s deep eyes. She had never done that before. Would it make her flirty?
However, she was unwilling to be misunderstood by Bruce. She wanted to be close to him.
It was so difficult to know how he felt.
"A little bit."
Bruce said seriously and was about to get up when Hilla grabbed the back of his hand.
She lowered her head. Her long hair covering her little face, he could only hear her subtle voice.
"I can do it.
"I’m twenty-one years old."
Hilla spoke slowly and cautiously, her fingers clutching the corner of his shirt.
Bruce seemed to hear a light breathing sound. Hilla sat on the bed and never moved again.
It seemed like she was waiting for him. Or was she too nervous?
Bruce wrapped his arms around Hilla. He was so gentle that he lost his balance and fell on the bed with Hilla.
Then, Hilla was pressed under his body, staring at Bruce in a daze.
Just now, he told her to rest, but then, he pressed against her. It was such a surprise.
"Bruce, you..."
Bruce was also shocked. He had just lost his footing.
He didn’t expect that he would throw himself on the bed and pounce on Hilla. But since it did happen, it was impossible for him to let her go again!
"You said you could."
He took a deep breath and said in a hoarse voice.
Before Hilla could answer, he lowered his head and kissed her cherry lips that he had been thinking about all night.
It was better and sweeter than he thought.
Hilla was stunned at first. After the fear and panic, she quickly regained her calm.
Then she stretched out her arms to wrap around his neck.
Bruce was encouraged and paused slightly before he dragged her to the bed.
The lights dimmed gradually.
In the darkness, the air was filled with wonderful sweetness, but it was interrupted by Hilla’s panicked scream.
All of the sudden, Hilla fell to the ground,
The lights lit up.
Bruce hurriedly pulled Hilla up.
Seeing Hilla desperately covering her face, he asked anxiously, "What happened? Are you all right? Does it hurt?"
He hadn’t done anything yet, how could she be so scared? Just now, he was pushed away before Hilla fell under the bed.
She covered her eyes and refused to get close to him. "Hurry up and put on your pants. Put them on."
She had taken care of Bruce for a while, so she saw Bruce’s body through the blanket. However, she had never expected that...
She was still frightened.
Bruce was so embarrassed.
Although he felt wronged and helpless, Bruce still patiently asked her, "Did you hurt? Just tell me to stop. I won’t hurt you. Why are you rolling to the ground?"
There was a cabinet beside them, and he was worried that Hilla might bump into it.
Hilla shook her head, but she still covered her eyes. After a while, she plunged into Bruce’s arms and said, "I was too excited and I fell down."
"Bruce, I’m sorry."
They could have continued, but she retreated.
Bruce smiled and pulled the quilt over her. They lay down on the bed.
"It doesn’t matter. It’s not your fault."
"Aren’t you angry with me?"
Hilla asked carefully. Although he was disappointed, Bruce still couldn’t bear to blame her.
He tightened his arms around Hilla and whispered in her ear, "I’m waiting for you to get used to it."
They could take it slowly.
That night, both of them were sleepless. In the morning, Bruce was woken up by a
call from the company.
When he left, he whispered, "I’ll go first. Send me a message in advance if you want to eat anything tonight. Have a good rest."
Then, Bruce left a kiss on her forehead and left.
Hilla listened to Bruce’s gentle voice and slowly nodded.
When the door closed, Hilla slowly poked her head out. She blushed.
She looked down and smiled in a shy way when she thought of his words.
She didn’t wear anything. This was the first time the two of them had gotten along so closely.
It made her feel a little ashamed, but she knew it was normal between husband and wife.
They were immersed in the sweetness of love. Thinking of this, Hilla couldn’t help but smile again. "Hilla, are you up?"
Halle asked in concern. She saw that Bruce had left a long time ago, but Hilla did not come out. She felt worried about her, so she came over to take a look.
"I’m getting up. Wait for me."
Hilla quickly sat up from the bed. She became shy when she felt her slightly cold back and shoulders. Then she grabbed the quilt on her chest.
Although Bruce hadn’t done anything to her, the few hickeys seemed to say that he had done everything.
Good for you, Bruce.
Hilla got up and changed her clothes. The moment she opened the door, Hilla looked so tender with spring eyes and rosy lips. Something was different.
Halle was stunned. What did they do last night?
...
Seeing Halle’s staring, Hilla touched her face in embarrassment and whispered, "What’s wrong?"
Why did Halle keep looking at her?
Did she see the hickeys?
Hilla panicked. She hurriedly checked her clothes. Only then did she heave a sigh of relief.
Halle saw her nervous and guilty appearance and chuckled. "Why did you wake up so late? Let’s have breakfast together."
Halle knew what happened, but she asked nothing as it was a private matter between the couple. She only needed to know that her little sister lived well.
Hearing Halle’s words, Hilla answered hurriedly, "Are you hungry? I’m sorry that I forgot to have breakfast with you. Did the housekeeper prepare it?"
Hilla knew that Bruce had hired a housekeeper. Why didn’t Halle have breakfast?
"She prepared the breakfast. Don’t worry. I just want to wait for you. The breakfast will taste better if I have you by my side."
After living alone for so long, she would occasionally feel bored.
After all, there was only one person in the courtyard. She needed to do everything herself and she could only talk to the two dogs, Cookie and Candy.
Although there would be neighbors chatting with her, she was still lonely. Halle was looking forward to the child being born and accompanying her. Hilla was an adult now. Both of them had their own lives. Although they were sisters, she should not disturb Hilla too much. "Halle, wait for me. I’ll accompany you after washing my face." Halle nodded, "I’ll go downstairs and wait for you."
Hilla quickly returned to change her clothes and put on simple makeup. After hiding all the "secrets", she went downstairs.
Halle was sitting in front of the dining table, chatting with the housekeeper.
She looked gentler when she saw Hilla.
"I saw that Mr. Anderson had left a long time ago and I’m worried that you didn’t get up because you were unwell."
"Halle, you should call him Bruce. We are family."
Hilla was really hungry. She ate a piece of bread in two or three bites with no jam.
Halle handed over a napkin, "Look at you. You are just like a child. Why are you in such a hurry?"
"Halle, I don’t look good right now, do I?"
Hilla sat upright. She was too hungry just now, so she didn’t notice her manner.
When Halle said this, she felt embarrassed.
"You look good. So beautiful. You are cute even when gobbling. Bruce likes you so much."
Hilla felt more embarrassed.
"Halle, are you joking at me?"
"I am happy for you."
"Happy?"
Hilla was stunned. She looked into Halle’s eyes for a while and suddenly thought of something. She blushed, "Halle, you misunderstood. Nothing happened last night. I pushed him away."
Like a child who had just admitted her mistake, Hilla lowered her head and clenched the milk cup.
She thought Halle would criticize her.
"You really pushed him away?"
Halle was stunned. She couldn’t help but laugh when she thought of Hilla’s expression this morning.
She didn’t believe that they did nothing.
"I’m scared. I just did it subconsciously. I didn’t refuse to do that, nor did I dislike him. I just haven’t adapted to it yet."
"So you two slept together without sex."
Halle revealed the truth, and Hilla was embarrassed again.
It was true. She had stayed in Bruce’s arms for the entire night. Although they didn’t have sex, Bruce kept kissing her.
"Alright, help yourself. Come with me to the bidding hall later."
"Bidding?"
Hilla was stunned and she became serious instantly.
Only then did she notice the invitation card beside Halle. It was left behind by Bruce before he left.
He did not tell her. Should she go or not? Did he give her the choice? What if she did not go downstairs today? What if Halle did not notice this invitation card?
She was wondering that Bruce did not want her to go.
"Is it the land of the new airport?"
Hilla pursed her lips and asked. Halle drank the gruel and answered softly without raising her head.
She didn’t look at Hilla because she was ashamed. In the most difficult times of their family, she didn’t return to help her.
She was also afraid. Both Hilla and her cared about the house so much.
Hilla wanted to take it back, and so did she. But now, it was divided into the area of the new airport by the government. There was no way to buy it.
"Then we will go after breakfast."
Hilla said seriously and kept eating, but it didn’t taste the same as before.
They were like duckweeds, and from this moment on, they had no idea where they were going.
"Halle, did you already know?"
When Hilla asked, Halle sat in the car and looked out the window. She turned to hold her hand and smiled gently. "It doesn’t matter. The land is gone. As long as the house is still there, we can buy it back sooner or later."
Halle was comforting her. Hilla knew it very well.
The house would not be kept as the project began.
They both knew it, but no one revealed the fact.
"Halle, after the auction, let’s go home and take a look."
Now the Holt’s mansion was probably even more desolate.
Halle nodded and said nothing. She came in a hurry because she was worried about Hilla. Besides, she wanted to see the auction, too.
Even if they couldn’t get it back, she wanted to see how it ended.
The memories of the Holts were worth keeping in their hearts.
...
The auction venue.
Halle and Hilla had been standing outside, waiting until the end to enter.
They sat silently at the back. Not only the old families but also the major tycoons from all walks of life came here.
Those people rushed for profit, but the Holts were waiting for a judgment.
Hilla had been holding Halle’s hand tightly. She didn’t know if she was worried about Halle or comforting herself.
She hoped that Bruce could get that piece of land, but she was also afraid that he would get it.
She had seen the draft of his company. She was unwilling to see her home be demolished by Bruce. She thought that she would even hate him if he did that.
But it was no longer her choice.
Beside Bruce was Rudi, who was supposed to stay in the hospital. Even if he was now sitting in a wheelchair and was teased by others, Rudi could not let Bruce get it.
Even Robin was there with a serious expression.
Everyone in River City knew that the Anderson family was at odds with each other, and they also wanted to see them make a fool of themselves.
After a few rounds of simple auction items, they finally got to a few pieces of land.
Hilla and Halle were next to each other, staring at the signboards and listening to the bids.
It was officially closed when it got 130 million.
The host announced it in excitement, "Mr. Stefan of the Key Group wins the land of the Hosdol district at a sky-high price of 130 million dollars." The house of the Holts was in that district.
Rudi was stunned. Neither the Anderson Group nor Bruce got the land. It was actually won by Stefan Key.
It was unbelievable. Rudi was confident to get that part, but now, he lost it. Then why did they make so much effort to clear out all the obstacles in that piece of land?
They finally benefited others.
"Halle, let’s go."
Hilla blinked her reddened eyes, but when she turned around and saw Halle’s pale face, she was still shocked.
She had already prepared for this result. Although she didn’t know which family would own the land in the end, she was prepared to lose it when she hit Rudi back
then.
But Halle was different. She forgot Halle had different expectations.
This time, Halle hurt so badly.
The house was of the same importance to Halle. Hilla never doubted that.
Halle took a deep breath. After a while, she forced a smile and said to Hilla, "I’m fine. Let’s go!"
Hilla helped Halle up and followed others to leave. Bruce was different from them.
They were just spectators, but Bruce was one of the actors on stage.
They had their own channels, and Hilla didn’t want to see Bruce the moment she entered.
"Halle, are you alright?"
Halle’s face was frighteningly pale since she stood up.
Hilla was so frightened when she saw the blood dripping down from Halle’s dress.
She was trembling. "Halle, don’t scare me. Help us, please. Call the ambulance!"
There were still a few people left and the ambulance arrived very quickly. Hilla cried when she saw Halle was suffering.
"Halle, hold on. You and the baby will be fine. We should be fine. Dad and Mom won’t blame us for losing the house."
Hilla’s sobbing echoed throughout the entire ambulance. Halle was so weak because of the loss of blood, but she still smiled.
They held each other’s hands tightly. Seeing Hilla crying, Halle tried to comfort her, "I know. Hilla, don’t cry. I’m not in pain. The baby is naughty."
She was only four months pregnant. She knew she should not have been so emotional just now.
But she still got depressed.
She couldn’t cry as she had no one to rely on. She was the elder sister, and she was becoming a mother. She should be stronger.
Halle knew that since she was alone. She was not allowed to be weak.
The hospital was not far from the exhibition. When Halle was pushed into the emergency room, Hilla was stopped.
When she turned around and saw Horton, she was stunned.
"It was Halle!"
Horton said without any doubt. Hilla nodded.
She said hoarsely with reddened eyes, "Yes, it’s my sister. Halle, she..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Horton rushed in.
Hilla was nervous, but at the same time, she felt more at ease. Perhaps it was because Horton and Bruce were relatives. She believed he would find a way to save her sister.
Bruce didn’t answer her call, and it was James who finally answered. "Mr. Anderson is still in a meeting. What can I do for you?" James was very polite as if someone was around.
Hilla suddenly realized that Bruce could do nothing to help her since he was not a gynecologist.
She shook her head and said, "I’m fine."
"Where are you now?"
James sensed that something was wrong and hurriedly asked.
He was afraid that when Bruce ended the meeting, he would fire him if he delayed Hilla’s matter.
Hilla sniffed and whispered, "At the hospital."
"Are you sick? I’ll inform Mr. Anderson immediately." James was shocked and hurried to the meeting room.
He was worried that his boss would be pissed off if he knew that Hilla was at the hospital.
"I’m not sick. It’s my sister. I’m fine. You don’t need to tell Bruce."
Then there was no need to worry!
James stopped in his tracks and heaved a heavy sigh of relief. He could tell that Hilla was very depressed. She must be sad because of her sister.
James comforted her and contacted the director of the hospital to find someone to take care of her sister.
Hilla hung up the phone, and after a while, she saw Horton come out with several doctors.
He was a neurologist. Hilla didn’t know what he was doing inside.
"How is Halle?"
"The blood has stopped. She and the baby are fine. They have been transferred to the ward, but it’s still dangerous. She has to rest more."
Then, the attending doctor glanced at Horton.
The doctor had no idea why Horton was so nervous.
