CHAPTER 120: ABSENCE AFTER GETTING MARRIED

Hilla didn’t sleep well all night, and she was awakened by herself as soon as morning dawned.

When she lifted her head and found that she was in Bruce’s arms, she heaved a sigh of relief and could not help but blush.

It was only the second time that she slept in his arms and fell asleep together. They just put themselves out there that she could even see his physical response in the morning.

She was still embarrassed.

She subconsciously wanted to move out of his arms.

"It’s early now. You can sleep more."

Hilla was excited last night because of Halle. He had been criticized a lot, and they slept very late.

"I want to buy breakfast for my sister."

"I will have someone to buy it."

"I want to go myself."

Hilla said in a low voice. She was still worried when she thought of Halle being alone in the ward last night. Although it was early in the morning, she was relieved to be able to stay with Halle in the hospital.

Thinking of it, Hilla couldn’t help but sit up in bed.

The next second, she hurriedly clutched the quilt closely to her bosom in a panic and said anxiously with a red face, "Close your eyes and don’t look at me."

He had already held her in arms for two nights. Although she didn’t allow him to look at her, he had groped her many times. Why was she still shy?

Moreover, they had been married.

Although he found it funny, Bruce obediently turned around and closed his eyes.

Hilla got out of bed carefully and heard Bruce on the bed whisper, "When can I open my eyes?"

There was a bang.

She kicked at the end of the bed. She almost cried out since she was painful.

She was afraid to answer his question, so Hilla quickly lowered her head and carefully bent over to change her clothes.

In the sickroom, pleasant laughter came to her ears.

Hilla came in with breakfast. Margaret put her head on Halle’s bed and was laughing

loudly.

What made her so happy was that she erased her image as a lady.

Halle also had a smile on her face. Margaret had made an interesting joke.

"You guys are here."

Halle raised her head and saw Hilla and Bruce at the door of the sickroom. Her eyes grew tenderer.

When Margaret saw Bruce, she suddenly stopped laughing. She blinked and looked at Bruce reluctantly, "Good morning, brother!"

She had always rejected Bruce in her mind. Fortunately, Hilla was here, otherwise, she would have run away.

"Hilla, I brought something for Halle to eat."

As soon as Margaret saw Hilla, she squinted at her. She changed into a pure girl from a sexy woman.

Hilla glanced at the empty bowl on the table. Obviously, Halle had already eaten breakfast, so she had to put the food to the side.

"Halle, are you feeling better?"

"She is fine. She can leave the hospital tomorrow."

Margaret smiled and met Bruce’s eyes. She froze as she asked, "Bruce, aren’t you going to the company?"

She heard that yesterday, the Key Group had won the land from the Anderson family. He should be sitting in the office and be ready to win the Key Group next time.

Her brother had come to the hospital so calmly at this time. He must be pretending to be calm in front of Hilla.

He was afraid his wife would look down on him, so he was worried!

Bruce looked Margaret up and down, and then he said, "Well, I’ll go abroad today. I’ll let you take care of Hilla."

"Brother, will you let me take care of her? Great!"

Her brother finally let her go today. Hilla now was hers.

Hilla looked at Bruce in surprise. Why didn’t she know that he would be on a business trip?

No wonder he would go to the hospital with her. He must have known that Margaret was there and would let Margaret take care of Halle and her!

Although Hilla didn’t approve of it, she didn’t say anything in front of Halle. "Hilla, don’t worry. I will take good care of you when he’s on a business trip."

Margaret grabbed Hilla’s hand excitedly. After feeling someone looking at her, she quickly pulled her hand out and smiled, "Of course, in this world, my brother is the one who cares about you the most. I am not as good as him."

Bruce wondered, "I’m glad that you know it."

Margaret thought, "I was scared to death. I thought that I would not be able to graduate this year."

While speaking, the doctor came to check Halle, but what Hilla didn’t expect was that Horton would come early in the morning.

However, seeing that he had helped create a profile for Halle, Hilla pulled Bruce out of the ward.

In the stairwell of the hospital, Hilla held Bruce’s arm reluctantly and said, "Will you go for a long time?"

"Not that long. Just about ten days."

Hilla thought, "Isn’t it long enough?"

"I will call you every day."

Bruce frowned and smiled, "But it will be inconvenient at work."

Seeing the disappointed look on Hilla’s face, he said, "I’ll call you after I’m done. I’ll call you every day."

Hilla wondered, "It makes me feel much more comfortable."

However, she couldn’t help but complain, "Why didn’t you tell me last night that you will be on a business trip?"

If she knew that he was leaving, she might have worked hard last night to overcome the obstacle.

Bruce chuckled, "I’m afraid you’ll have a hard time saying goodbye."

"Fine!"

She was a little reluctant.

Margaret came out of the sick room and saw them hiding in the stairwell. She immediately leaned on the door and asked curiously, "Hilla, are you unwilling to part with my brother?"

After hearing it, Hilla immediately panicked. She stood still and her face turned red.

But she didn’t know where to hide.

"My sister is alone in the ward. I’ll go see her."

"You don’t have to. Horton is here."

Margaret stopped Hilla and pushed her into Bruce’s arms.

She smiled and said, "I will take care of Halle for you. You can just stay here and fall

into love!"

Bruce looked at Margaret’s back and felt that she had grown up. He planned to let her study more.

It was in the sick room.

Horton sat in front of the bed, looked at the profile in his hand and whispered, "When was your last period?"

Halle did not hesitate and replied with a gentle smile, "Last November 30."

"Your address."

When Halle said the address in the countryside, Horton was stunned.

No wonder she couldn’t be found anywhere. Did she hide in such a small place to avoid him?

Horton raised his head. He looked at her with narrowed eyes. He was obviously a little angry, but when Halle looked at him, he was calm again.

"The next prenatal check-up is on the 10th next month. Remember to come on time."

Tenth?

It had only been a month. "Shouldn’t I come to get examined every three months in the early stage?"

The hospital was not a good place. She could not help but reject it in her mind.

Horton raised his head and said in a businesslike voice, "Maybe you’ll have a miscarriage, so you should go back to the hospital. Of course, you don’t have to come."

Horton wondered, "I believe you’ll come."

...

When Halle heard this, she frowned slightly and said, "I understand. Thank you for your help, Dr. Hutt. But you are not an obstetrician, right?"

He was neither a doctor in the maternity center, nor a nurse in it.

It could be done by any nurse, but Horton had come by himself.

But he was a neurologist, he knew nothing about gynecology.

Horton stood still for a while and didn’t know what to say.

Halle told the truth calmly. After being rejected, Horton set his mouth in a grim line and stood up slowly, "Have a good rest."

Halle did not look at Horton’s back as he left, but she smiled politely.

When Margaret returned to the ward, she was stunned when she was about to say something.

At this time, Halle was quietly sitting on the bed. She was clearly smiling, but she could clearly see tears rolling down her face.

Was she crying?

Margaret was immediately frightened. She had just promised Bruce that she would take good care of them. How could she make her cry in just a while?

"Halle, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Are you having a stomachache?"

Halle held down Margaret’s hand that was about to lift up her clothes and shook her head with a smile. "I’m fine. I just read a novel and felt that it was very sad."

"You’re freaking me out. You are pregnant that you should be happy. Don’t read Hilla’s novels. It’s bad for you."

Margaret said in a serious tone, as if she didn’t read them in class.

As soon as Hilla entered the ward, she heard Margaret slandering her novels. And she had borrowed some novels from Hilla several days ago.

Halle looked at Hilla, who was leaning against the door unhappily, "The few novels that Hilla recommended are still very classic. I was deeply moved by them."

"Halle, do you think that the woman in the book is just like you who is abandoned by a man, gave birth to a baby, and raised the baby alone?"

When she read it at that time, she felt that it was quite similar to Halle, so she was very curious whether the father of her baby was the hero in the novel.

Her brother was a bossy man. The father of her baby was definitely someone who was even bossier than her brother. Maybe he is the Prime Minister of a country or the President of another country. He might be very rich.

In short, he was definitely stronger than her brother.

Hilla frowned subconsciously, feeling that Margaret was out of line.

She subconsciously wanted to pull her away, but Halle smiled and said, "It is indeed a bit similar, but I have you guys. I am not lonely at all."

"Halle, you are really great. Hearing what you said, I really want to be her godmother."

Margaret touched Halle’s belly with love in her eyes. Although it was not in her body, it really felt amazing.

Halle stayed in the hospital for three days and left the hospital.

Because she was still weak, Hilla didn’t agree to let her go back to the countryside.

Instead, she let Halle live in the Lakeshore Center.

Bruce was not around these few days, so Margaret naturally moved over to stay with Halle.

"The locks of the other two rooms have been fixed as well?"

Hilla asked curiously as she watched Margaret come down the stairs.

Margaret shook the key in her hand and said proudly, "Did you just change the lock? I thought why you had to lock the two rooms. I opened them with the key!"

With the key...

Weren’t they broken, or were they fixed before Bruce left?

Hilla was stunned for a moment. Looking at Halle’s smile, she suddenly realized something and blushed. She lowered her head and ran away.

"Halle, do you feel that Hilla is not quite right these two days?"

Margaret looked at Hilla, who had got a stupid grin on her face at the window, and bit the head of her pen.

Now Margaret felt Hilla was much more difficult to read than a book.

Halle glanced at Hilla, who was not far away. She covered her mouth and couldn’t help but laugh, "Something is wrong with her. She is thinking about someone."

"Does she miss my brother?"

Margaret cracked into an evil grin, with a sly and strange look.

If she sent it to her brother as a video, maybe he would so happy that he would tell her that she could graduate directly without going to school.

"Bruce has been gone for two days, right? They have never been separated, and they are newlyweds, so they naturally feel that it is a bit difficult."

As Halle spoke, Margaret smiled even more cheerfully. She took a photo of Hilla, who was looking out of the window. Then, she sent it to her Line and wrote, "She is waiting for her husband".

In the River University, Rigel heard Linus next to him burst into laughter.

Linus took his phone and turned to look at Rigel excitedly, "Is it our beautiful girl Hilla? Am I right?"

As the president of the Art Society, he showed special care and love for the beauty of his society.

Rigel’s eyes followed Linus’s phone screen. He slightly lowered his eyes sadly.

"Oh my god, why don’t I know she has a boyfriend? It can’t be you, right? Do you steal her from me? Good boy!"

No matter what, Hilla was fostered as the vice president by him, so it was his duty to supervise her boyfriend.

Rigel averted his gaze, pursed his lips, and said in a low voice, "No!"

After saying that, he left without looking back, leaving Linus stunned.

If it was not Rigel, who would deserve her?

"Wow, so many messages. Why don’t I know that I’m popular?"

Margaret was so excited that she felt like nothing else existed when she saw the notifications that kept appearing on her phone.

Halle shook her head secretly. Hilla suddenly realized something and saw the Line immediately, and then she jumped up from the table in shock.

"Margaret, you’re so annoying. Delete it now."

She had Margaret’s Line, so she saw the contents at a glance.

There was a time difference between Bruce and her, but if Bruce saw her waiting for him like this, he would definitely laugh at her.

"I won’t delete it. I won’t delete it. Let my brother take a good look at it. His wife is drooling over him."

"You are talking nonsense! I didn’t..."

Hilla touched the corner of her mouth subconsciously and became even more annoyed when she found that Margaret lied to her.

"Can you say that you were not thinking about my brother when you were smiling and blushing just now?"

"I didn’t!"

"Then I will tell my brother that you don’t miss him."

Margaret jumped up and down with the phone in her hand, and Hilla stomped his feet anxiously. "Please delete it. He will see it in a while!"

Before Hilla’s hand touched the phone, someone replied to her Line.

It was Bruce, "She’s so graceful. My wife is beautiful."

Margaret wondered, "He was shameless after getting older."
