Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 122: She Is So Obsessed with Him
CHAPTER 122: SHE IS SO OBSESSED WITH HIM
The design competition was approaching, while Hilla hadn’t submitted her finished version. She had completed the suit she designed for men. Rigel was too thin to fit it, though he was tall enough.
While Hilla was working on her design, she was also worried about Halle’s decision to return to the countryside.
Lily looked at Hilla, who was so absorbed in her thoughts, and cupped her chin in her hand. She couldn’t help saying, "Honey, is your husband still not back yet?"
She thought, Look how marriage turned a beautiful and lively girl into a depressed and whiny wife.
Love and marriage ruined an excellent woman!
Hilla realized that Lily was speaking and blinked her dry eyes, asking, "What did you say?"
"What did I say? She really didn’t listen to what I said," Lily thought. She pursed her lips and smiled, "I say, are you missing your husband?"
"Nonsense! I was just thinking about my design. I don’t miss him at all," Hilla retorted.
But she immediately blushed and turned her back to avoid Lily.
"I’m thinking about my design. Why it must be Bruce who she was thinking about. He was just away for days. She could wait longer," she thought.
Lily stared at Hilla and burst out laughing.
She was laughing so hard that she almost fell off the stool.
Although Hilla refused to admit it, everyone saw her and would know that she was obviously in love. Lily was quite confident that Hilla was indeed missing her husband.
"Yes, you are. You are missing your husband. Husband! Husband..." Lily was teasing her.
Ever since Lily and Margaret became close, they had never stopped teasing Hilla.
Hilla knew that and had never taken it seriously.
She didn’t expect that this time, they would make fun of her out of this. And she even left such an impression on them. A clingy wife? She hated Margaret now.
"Stop, stop. It is not true. I don’t miss him. I don’t! I, I was just thinking about my design, just design," Hilla retorted.
She flushed again and stamped her foot anxiously. Lily knew that she was really anxious now, so she nodded with a smile, stopping teasing her.
"Okay. You were thinking about your design, not someone. I was wrong, okay?" Lily
comforted her.
"I didn’t!"
Hilla lowered her head and muttered. Lily approached and asked wickedly, "When will Mr. Anderson come back to see his sweetheart."
"You... I’m not talking to you again!" Hilla said.
She turned around angrily. Lily smiled and said, "I mean it. It has been days since Mr. Anderson left. You two have never been separated after marriage. You are not used to living without him, right?"
Hilla pursed her lips and shook her head. But after a while, she changed her mind and nodded.
She said, "I will get used to that gradually. After all, he has to fly to different countries so often."
This time, the fact that they lost the land on Mount Cloud had greatly affected their stocks. Someone took the opportunity to sell a lot of the Anderson Group’s shares, which had exacerbated the fractured situation within the company.
As the CEO of the company, if Bruce wanted to keep the company going, he had to sign a big deal as soon as possible to calm down their shareholders and top managers.
The original plan was a week, but they rescheduled the negotiation, which was not going smoothly. So Bruce had to stay there longer.
Although she knew that Bruce was very safe now, she couldn’t help worrying about him because her father died in a plane crash.
"Alright, I won’t make fun of you anymore. It is a pity that Mr. Anderson cannot see your perfect design. Besides, he has an assistant to take care of him there. You can focus on your work now," Lily said.
"Tomorrow is the deadline. Please, if you still can’t finish the drawing, then you have to quit this competition," she urged.
The competition might not be a big deal for Hilla in the past, but it was different now. She had to help Halle to revive the Holt Family, so she had to be excellent and stand out from the crowd in every design competition.
In the future, she wanted to have her design studio, designing things with patterns that were exclusive to the Holt family. She couldn’t afford to waste every opportunity.
"I understand. Before tomorrow, I will hand over a satisfactory design," Hilla said.
Then she put away her things and went home with a determined look before Lily could speak.
Lily frowned and thought, "Were you gonna work out a satisfactory design instead of rushing home to wait for your husband?"
Halle was feeding the fish when Hilla returned to Lakeshore Center.
The goldfish in the fish tank had grown much fatter Because of Halle’s extra attention.
It seemed that these animals were drawn to Halle. Every time she came closer with food, they would swarm to her and waiting to be fed.
"Did you come back alone? Where’s Margaret?" Halle asked.
"I don’t have classes this afternoon, so I want to come back to finish my drawing," Hilla answered.
Halle nodded and left her alone. Hilla didn’t say more and headed to her bedroom on the second floor, with the painting folder in her arm.
Although she was determined, it felt terrible when she was running out of ideas. It was like writing a novel without knowing what to write next. She wanted to disappear.
She drew a few pictures in the room, but she was not satisfied with any one of them.
Looking at these failed designs, she lay her head down on the table, discouraged.
What could she do? She was too anxious. Her head was full of Bruce. She must be crazy.
She checked her phone. The morning greeting message she had sent to Bruce was not read. He should be resting. They hardly saw each other because of the time difference. Even video chat could not ease her lovesickness. She was about to go crazy.
Hilla put down her phone and went to the bathroom. She should take a shower to cool off, and then she might focus on her design.
In the past, when Lily told her about the silly things girls do when fall in love, she couldn’t believe it. She thought that those things could only happen in TV dramas. When it came to her, she began to know how insecure and anxious a person could be when she couldn’t see her beloved one.
In the room, Hilla’s phone lit up. It was a video call.
Halle glanced at the caller and the closed bathroom door, and then picked up.
When Bruce saw Halle, he was confused. He seemed to have just woken up because his hair was in a mess. And he quickly grabbed the quilt on his chest when Halle picked up the phone.
Halle blushed a bit, being a little embarrassed. She did not expect that Bruce would appear in the video like this. He and Hilla really missed each other!
"Hilla is taking a shower. You have to wait for a while!" she said.
As Halle was speaking, she turned the camera to the bathroom door. But the door opened at that moment. And Hilla appeared at the door, with water dripping from her hair and body. She stared at Halle and the phone in her hand, and then at Bruce in the video!
...
Halle had already lost her mind when she saw Hilla appeared at the door like this.
By the time she realized and turned off the phone, it was already too late because Bruce had seen what he could see.
Hilla had no idea at that moment and grabbed the towel draping on her body, feeling a little dizzy.
After a while, she was finally able to speak, "Halle, what, what are you doing?"
Did she just have a wardrobe malfunction? The bath towel was casually draped over her shoulders, barely covering her body. And she didn’t wear anything inside. Bruce must have seen everything unless he was blind.
Halle was so shy and embarrassed that she quickly grabbed up the bathrobe on the bed and wrapped it around Hilla. She said in a low voice, "I just came to ask if you are hungry and what you would like for dinner."
And she urged, "Put on your clothes in case you catch a cold."
In Halle’s eyes, Hilla was still a little girl. Even if Hilla was exposed to her husband just now, Halle was embarrassed."
She lowered her head slightly to avoid Hilla’s gaze. Her face was already burning.
She thought she shouldn’t live with her sister, especially when Hilla had got married. Even if they were sisters, she was still a woman. She felt weird after running into things between Hilla and Bruce like this.
Hilla put on her clothes obediently. Although she didn’t say anything, she knew that Bruce had seen everything after she came out of the bathroom.
She was just afraid that Halle would be embarrassed, so she pretended that nothing had happened. However, she was actually the most embarrassed one.
She thought, What can I do now?
Bruce has seen me naked just now, and that was different when we were naked at night.
Because it was at night and the door was closed. She couldn’t see things clear so she won’t feel shy. But just now... she wished she could disappear.
If she wasn’t afraid that Halle would be worried, she would want to jump out of the window right now.
"I want to have meatballs and roast duck tonight. Leave it to me. I know how to cook them," Hilla said.
Seeing that Hilla still looked innocent with what happened just now, Halle felt relieved and less embarrassed now.
However, she kept telling herself in the heart that for Hilla’s and her own good, she shouldn’t live here and disturbed her life anymore.
"Okay, I will go and tell the housekeeper," Halle said.
But she hesitated a bit and said, "Dr. Hutt was looking for you."
She pursed her lips with a heavy heart.
Although she knew that he wasn’t coming for her this time, she didn’t know why she was a little upset. But she knew that she had been divorced, and her family had fallen. And she was not Miss Holt in the past, so she and Horton were not meant to be.
She shouldn’t become a burden to others!
It took Hilla a while to remember her appointment with Horton. She nodded, "Yes! I need to talk to him. Halle, take care of him for me. I will be there in a minute!"
Hilla calmed down and carefully pushed Halle out of her room. Then she got dressed quickly and let out a sigh of relief after making sure everything was all right.
She picked up the phone on the bed and hesitated with her rosy cheeks. She thought, Should I call Bruce back?
But what happened just now was too embarrassing and I was also too embarrassed. Bruce must be making fun of me.
She covered her face bashfully. But if she didn’t call back, she would have to wait until midnight to talk to him. To wait for a day was too long for her.
She flipped the screen, softly and gently, with delicate affection.
Waiting and separation were the most unbearable things, from which Hilla seemed to understand something suddenly.
She wondered if the days she and Bruce had too bland and casual."
Her phone suddenly lit up, with the pleasant and clear ringtone, and woke Hilla who was mooning about.
Looking at the name on the screen, Hilla felt for the first time that her heart was beating with the music.
She was surprised, nervous, and ... she was afraid that he would hang up impatiently if she didn’t answer quickly.
"Hello!" Her soft voice passed through the radio waves to the other side of the ocean and entered Bruce’s ears, touching his heart.
Watching her being so shy on the screen, Bruce was aroused again.
"I..." Bruce opened his mouth. His voice was obviously hoarse. He took a breath and said in a low voice, "I’ll be back soon."
Hilla thought, "Back soon? For what?"
She was not just shy now, she was becoming nervous. She was in a dilemma because she wanted Bruce back and at the same time, she was afraid of him coming
back.
She could only nervously pull the bed sheet beneath her and nodded with her rosy cheeks after a while. Then she replied in a soft and charming voice, "Okay!"
"Wait for me!" Bruce said.
He pursed his lips slightly. To say the two simple words, he seemed to have used all of his strength.
Hilla began to say slowly, "I have a design competition this month..." Hilla paused, thinking that Bruce would not be back and watch it then.
"I want to invite Horton to be my model. His figure is more like yours," Hilla continued.
That was to say the clothes were at first designed for him!
Bruce suddenly felt that Hilla was the most precious thing for him in the world. He wished he could fly to her now but he was chained to his work.
Maybe he shouldn’t have gone abroad.
"OK!" he replied.
He had only said one word, but there were so many he wanted to say to Hilla. The girl on the screen bit her lips for a while and mustered up her courage to say, "Bruce, I miss you!"
Before Bruce could say something, Hilla hung up quickly. She lay down, stared at the crystal chandelier overhead, and felt greatly relieved.
She seemed to have thought of something. And then she clutched the quilt closely to her c and rolled on the bed, wrapping herself like a cocoon.
In the living room downstairs.
After Halle poured a glass of water for Horton, she sat on the sofa and began to read, no more conversations between them.
If he were not a guest invited by Hilla, she wouldn’t have stayed here politely. She would come back to her room immediately and get as far away from him as possible. But now she was sitting with him as a host.
Someone fell down!
There was a loud and muffled sound from upstairs. Halle was frightened and when she wanted to check if Hilla was okay, Horton stopped her.
"You’re pregnant. I’ll go and check," Horton said.
Halle didn’t reject him, nor did she have any reason to do so. She would let him so she nodded. Then she saw Hilla coming downstairs clumsily, holding her head in her hands.
"What happened?" Halle said.
She was shocked to see Hilla’s red and swollen forehead. She didn’t listen to Horton.
She just stood up directly and walked towards Hilla.
While Hilla held her sore forehead and said, "I’m fine. I’m fine. Don’t be nervous! I was just being stupid."
She was being too excited when she was having the video chat with Bruce. She was so obsessed with him.
