CHAPTER 138: INTERFERE WITH THEIR RELATIONSHIP

Hilla was unsure of the situation seeing that Bruce went silent and showed no expression.

It was so hard to understand this man. They were coming to an agreement just now, but why did he change all of sudden?

Bruce didn’t say anything. Did it mean that he agree or disagree?

Hilla’s heart sank when she thought of Orlenna’s concern.

If it weren’t for those days she spent with her mother-in-law, she wouldn’t have thought of moving out of the Anderson’s villa.

Orlenna was very good to her, but her kindness had a prerequisite, and Hilla couldn’t fulfill that.

"Do you really want a child?"

Hilla looked at Bruce and asked tentatively.

Before Bruce could respond, Hilla pursed her lips and kept going, "Actually, it’s not that I don’t want a baby. It’s just that I have something important to do now. Bruce, can you give me some time? I just need to finish what I want to do. And after that I, I can..."

She couldn’t have made it clearer.

Bruce’s gaze fell on her. He pursed his thin lips and asked, "How long?"

How long would it take for her to do what she wanted to do? He was already thirty years old. According to eugenics, the quality of the sperm would drop after he reached 35 years of age.

Bruce hoped it wouldn’t take too long for the sake of the next generation.

Hilla didn’t expect him to ask about a specific time. She fiddled around and said in a low voice, "Five, five years..."

"No!"

Bruce refused immediately. It was obvious that five years of waiting was not acceptable.

It was too long even for Bruce, let alone Orlenna.

"How about four years?" Hilla asked.

Bruce frowned. She could read from his face that he didn’t approve of this idea.

The corner of Hilla’s mouth twitched, and she gritted her teeth, "Three years. It can’t be less than three years. I’ll be 24 in three years and it will still be early for me."

Hilla was nervous about becoming a mother at such a young age.

"Two years. Otherwise, mom will begin to nag us."

That was enough to convince Hilla.

She already experienced her mother-in-law’s nagging, and she didn’t want to face that again.

Hilla was not happy about the time frame, but she got plenty of ways to delay and avoid it, maybe she can even put off the pregnancy for more than three years.

Thus she agreed, "Okay, but you can’t interfere with what I want to do in the next two years. And you can’t let Mom either."

Hilla felt relieved that she wouldn’t have to face Orlenna on her own.

If Orlenna got any problems, she could just talk to her son, and it wouldn’t have anything to do with her anymore.

Hilla agreed. Bruce’s heart was still thumping, but he kept a straight face. He held Hilla in his arms.

"You really agreed?"

He couldn’t believe it. He was already 30 years old and he still got excited over it.

The man’s hoarse voice echoed around her ears, and she felt slightly itchy.

Hilla knew that Bruce was teasing her. She moved a little but didn’t try to avoid him.

However, her little face still turned red uncontrollably.

She nodded and whispered, "I didn’t refuse you. It’s just that I was on my period and I didn’t feel so well."

That was something she had no control over.

Hilla found an excuse for herself and she couldn’t help but complained, "Well, and you didn’t treat me too well these past few days."

Bruce was still thinking about what ’period’ was, hearing Hilla complain about him made him understand.

A grown man should know when to yield and when not. And a man should always yield to his wife. Dignity is only important when facing other people.

"It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have thrown a tantrum."

"Why did you do that?"

Hilla was discontent. It would make more sense if she was the one thrown a tantrum.

However, she thought of Lily’s word and asked with her eyebrows raised, "Are you suffering from sexual frustration?"

Bruce coughed out of embarrassment.

He straightened his back immediately. At the moment, he felt as if Hilla looked right through him.

He quickly pushed Hilla away from him and stood up, "I, I’ll get changed upstairs." "But my leg still hurts," Hilla complained.

Hilla was acting up and her eyes flashed. She saw Bruce run upstairs and got in his room like he was fleeing.

She was only trying to play the coquette, but she felt so happy seeing him run away.

She couldn’t control herself and burst into laughter.

The sun was warm and bright. Bruce landed his arm on the place next to him subconsciously.

He didn’t feel the warmth of the girl as he imagined. But he could smell the lingering fragrance left by the girl.

Bruce frowned in dissatisfaction. He opened his eyes and found that there was no one beside him.

It was hard enough for him that he couldn’t get intimate with her, now he couldn’t even hug her.

In the past, he had never seen Hilla get up so early except for school.

Before Bruce could complain, someone rushed out of the bathroom and ran into Bruce’s arms.

Bruce’s chest hurt a little because she bumped into his chest too hard. And now he woke up completely.

"What’s the matter?"

Although he was glad that his wife hugged him, he could tell that Hilla was not in the best mood.

He gently stroked her hair and softened his voice, "Are you feeling unwell? Or did someone make you unhappy?"

Why did this girl change her mood overnight?

Bruce could never understand a woman before, and now he was even more confused.

Hilla pressed her head against his chest and shook her head. Then, Bruce heard a muffled voice from her. The voice was not loud, but Bruce heard it very clearly.

Hilla said, "Bruce, my period is gone."

Well, this happens every month, no need to get excited over it.

Bruce was lost for a second, and then he gently placed his hand on Hilla’s shoulder. The next second, he held her in his arms tightly and said with relief, "It’s finally gone."

That’s great, at least now he didn’t have to suffer from sexual frustration.

...

Hearing Bruce’s words, Hilla couldn’t help but smiled.

She looked up at Bruce. Her face was flushed and her eyes were watery. She looked so pure and innocent and hard to resist.

Hilla smiled like a child and she said the most luring words in the most innocent manner, "Bruce, how about we make out tonight?"

Bruce almost choked on himself.

Bruce was so much older than Hilla, and he was also more experienced. However, he felt like his head went blank and he was enchanted by her from just one simple sentence.

His wife wanted to make out with him tonight. What should he do?

Should he obey? Or should he just obey?

"Hilla, do you know what you are talking about? Are you still sleepy? Do you want to sleep a little longer?"

Good luck came to him unexpectedly and he found it hard to believe. What if he was dreaming?

Bruce was about to lie down and pinch himself to wake himself up.

"I’m awake!"

Seeing that Bruce had no expression on his face, Hilla frowned in dissatisfaction, "It’s ok if you don’t want to do it..."

Bruce cleared his throat, "I’ll get back early tonight. Should we have a candlelight dinner? How about we go get some steak?"

After all, they were expecting something big that night, and the atmosphere would be very important.

Hilla was stunned for a moment, and then she nodded with a blush.

She whispered, "We can get some steak, but the candlelight dinner is a little too much."

He got so serious over it and it made Hilla nervous. It felt like they were about to discuss some serious business plan.

But the problem was... she was a little embarrassed by what they were about to do.

"Wait for me at home!"

Bruce didn’t respond to her. He only left a few words and left in a hurry.

Hilla was confused that Bruce just ran away.

Was she seeing things just now? Bruce seemed to be embarrassed to her.

He was a man in his thirties, could he still feel embarrassed?

Hilla muttered in her heart, but she couldn’t help but smiled.

After thinking for a while, she hurriedly ran upstairs.

She had to make preparations for tonight. She did her skincare routine, put on some light makeup, and found a silky tank top and a thigh-high nightgown.

After getting everything prepared, Hilla put on a light jacket. She thought about what Bruce would look like when he came back, and her face blushed again.

Would Bruce get frightened by her appearance?

Would Bruce view her as some frivolous girl?

Hilla’s heart skipped a beat. She took a look at her sexy nightgown and shivered.

No, she’s a girl after fall, and she shouldn’t be too aggressive.

Hilla quickly took off her clothes and put on conservative sleeping wear. Only then did she let out a sigh of relief.

"Hilla, I’m back!"

Hilla could hear Margaret shouting downstairs clearly.

When Hilla went downstairs and saw Margaret coming back with a big suitcase, she felt that something had split her head in two.

"Hilla, are you overjoyed to see me that you just got dumbfounded?"

Margaret put down the things in her hands and rushed over to hug Hilla. Her smile was so bright.

Hilla forced a smile and asked, "Why did you come back?"

Why did it have to be today? Didn’t she know that they were about to... That’s not how family members treat each other!

"Don’t worry. I already left Halle in good hands. I asked a lot of people in the village to take care of her, and I even hired a nanny to take care of Halle and the babies."

Margaret signed, "Actually, I didn’t want to come back. I love living in the countryside."

The only problem was that her brother didn’t want her around and he tried to get me married so I wouldn’t bother him so much. If she didn’t come over and ’take revenge’, her brother would think that she was easy to bully.

She did this to make her domineering brother see what kind of person she truly was.

Hilla thought to herself, "I told you not to come back, and you come back at such an inconvenient time. I wanted to beat you up so bad!"

Margaret didn’t seem to notice the disgust on Hilla’s face. She continued, "It’s not like I got any choice. My brother asked me to graduate this year, and I had to come

back for my study! I can’t miss too many classes after all."

Hilla thought to herself again, "Come on! Your class had finished long ago, and your professor had already asked you to prepare your graduation thesis. Now you are telling me you came back to study?"

Did she really think just because she was young so she got to be stupid?

Hilla didn’t believe a single word from Margaret. She must have chosen this day on purpose.

"You’re right, but it would be easier for you to review if you stay in your dorm. Moreover, you can do research in your school library."

For the first time, Hilla wanted to kick her sister-in-law out.

And she actually took Margaret’s suitcase on the ground and was about to do so.

However, Margaret acted faster than her. She pulled over her luggage and sat on the sofa. "Don’t worry, I can find all the information on the Internet. And you probably don’t know, but my brother was the top student in his class. I’d rather ask my brother than ask my classmates. My brother was doing so well in school back then and he got so many prizes. If my brother tutors me, I will definitely graduate at top grade this year."

If they dare not let her graduate, she would live here forever.

She would pester Hilla every day and see if her brother got irritated or not.

In the past, she had always tried too hard to please Bruce that she forgot that lowering her self-esteem would only make him ignore her even more.

She had been losing her status in this family.

If this continued, she would be sent out and forced to get married.

The more Bruce wanted to get rid of her, the harder she had to try to stay at this house. She planned to irritate her brother and cause them trouble.

If he made Margaret unhappy, then everyone should suffer.

"But today is not so convenient. Why don’t you stay at the hotel first? How about I drive you back to the Anderson’s? Mom must miss you a lot."

Hilla was trying to figure out a way to send her sister-in-law away.

Margaret clung to the sofa and replied, "There’s no need. I’ve already told mom that I’ll stay here for a while. It’s close to school, and we can keep each other company."

Hilla didn’t want her companion at all.

Didn’t she know that she wouldn’t be able to find a boyfriend if she break other people’s relationships?
