Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 20: Bruce, You’re Not That Petty, Are You?
CHAPTER 20: BRUCE, YOU’RE NOT THAT PETTY, ARE YOU?
"Hilla, you’re... You’ll submit to pressure after refusing me!"
Rudi Anderson was stunned. He could hear the mockery in Hilla Holt’s voice, and immediately, he wanted to pounce on her in anger.
Hilla Holt turned around and swiftly grabbed the acupressure point above Rudi Anderson’s elbow. As she saw the ugly face the man bore when he winced, she sneered. "Even if Bruce is just lying in bed, he looks much more pleasant to the eye compared to you."
"Hilla, why are you doing this to yourself? Bruce is comatose, and you’re suffering by being a widow even though he’s still alive. The Anderson family will belong to me sooner or later. If you get together with me, I won’t mistreat you."
When Rudi Anderson saw that he could not win, he could only try to please and patronize her.
The disgust in Hilla Holt’s heart was replaced by some other emotion. She gave a mocking smile, and the mole under her eye became even more bewitching.
"Compared to you, even if Bruce is going to be bedridden for his entire life, you still won’t compare to even his finger."
"Hilla Holt, stop being so ignorant to present affairs. Right now, the Anderson family only has me as a grandson left. Even if the old man becomes muddle-headed due to old age, he won’t hand the Anderson family over to some outsider, no? Do you think you can actually give birth to a son with this trash?"
Hilla Holt only felt disgusted when she heard such shameless words. She twisted his hand, and she heard a light crack. Without feeling any pain, Rudi Anderson had his elbow snapped.
Rudi Anderson stared at his elbow swinging in the air. It hung off his body like some stick with a string connected to him. He could not feel it at all.
Hilla Holt smiled and said, "Don’t worry, Rudi, I just snapped your elbow. Have someone connect it, and you’ll be fine."
At most, he would suffer a little when reconnecting it, but the pain would not kill him.
"If... you come and provoke me again next time, I won’t be snapping that part." As Hilla Holt spoke, she looked at Rudi Anderson’s neck.
Rudi Anderson was so terrified that he took a few steps back. He felt a chill down his spine. As he faced Hilla Holt’s bewitching smile, he ran out of the room in a panic.
That woman was a demon!
The moment Hilla Holt closed the door, her eyes instantly turned red.
She hated Rudi Anderson’s gaze. She hated it and was scared of it!
She was worried that there would be more of such gazes on her in the future, and Rudi Anderson would not be the only one.
As she looked at Bruce Anderson lying quietly on the bed, Hilla Holt used all her strength to scold him, "It’s all your fault! It’s because of you that they can bully me this way. Why are you like this? Why did you have to become comatose? Bruce Anderson, you’re a horrible person!"
It was only when she faced the person on the bed that she could shed her strong disguise and could willfully show her weak side and all her grievances.
Hilla Holt wiped away the tears on her face and seized the blanket to wrap herself in tightly. "Without the Holt family, those people will laugh at me. They laughed at me even more after I married into the Anderson family. Bruce, what should I do? Who can help me?"
Hilla Holt subconsciously hugged Bruce Anderson’s arm and comforted herself. "But I broke his elbow, so he suffered more.
"Your big brother brought Julian over. I think they’re going to negotiate."
Once she had vented her emotions, she became more rational, and her mood grew lighter. But when she mentioned Julian Jorgansen’s name, Hilla Holt could not help but touch her burning face. She said in surprise, "Why is my face so hot?"
Did she become sick because of all the anger Rudi Anderson caused her?
She turned around and looked at Bruce Anderson. She pursed her lips and whispered, "I saw him just now."
Though they had only had their gazes meet, and they had not spoken to each other.
Hilla Holt bit her lips. There was still an aggrieved look left on her red cheeks. It had lingered since the beginning. "I’ve already married into the Anderson family, and I’m your wife. I can’t be considered to have done anything wrong to you, right?"
The bedridden person did not react. Hilla Holt placed her head on Bruce Anderson’s chest and snuggled up to him as she said, "He was just looking at me. I can’t be considered to not have adhered to the code of wives."
Once she finished speaking, Bruce Anderson’s fingers curled a little under the blanket!
...
Hilla Holt did not notice the hand that moved under the blanket. She continued speaking with a red face, "Even though there were some romantic feelings between us in the past, it was only a little! Just a little!
"But now, I’m a woman with a husband. If I meet him again... You’re not petty, are you?
"I already told you about me and Julian, which means that I was very honest. Besides, all we did in the past was hold hands. You can’t blame me for that!"
Once she thought about this, Hilla Holt felt much better.
Night fell upon the Anderson family, and gentle light shone through the window.
Orlenna Organa had just returned when she saw Rudi Anderson coming out of the east courtyard. There was a ferocious, savage look on his face as his elbow swung loosely in front of him.
"Bah, stupid woman! Once I inherit the Anderson family, I’m going to kill you!"
Right after Rudi Anderson finished speaking, he turned around and saw Orlenna Organa standing not far away from him. In an instant, his entire body became stiff. He cried out in surprise. "Aunt Orlenna!"
"Young Master Rudi, aren’t you great? Who do you want to kill?"
Orlenna Organa ignored the look of flattery on Rudi Anderson’s face, and the gentle look on her face swiftly turned fierce.
Rudi Anderson’s heart skipped a beat. He shook his head and said, "It’sà ¢€¦ It’s those servants. The immature ones knocked me and hurt my elbow, but they won’t even apologize to me. Aunt Orlenna, you have to discipline them."
"Oh, I remember that the master has said that if there is nothing important, you’re not supposed to come back to the mansion. Is your memory bad? You seem to have forgotten it."
Orlenna Organa might have inherited the bloodline of scholars, the Organa family had been producing top-class politicians and technicians over the years, and even the Anderson family would not be able to touch them.
Rudi Anderson did not dare provoke her, so he did his best to curry favor with her and said, "I came over here to give you an invitation card for the banquet. I’ll be leaving now."
Orlenna Organa watched him flee while the disdain in her sank to the bottom of her heart.
If it were not for Bruce Anderson’s current state, she would not have tolerated a person like Rudi Anderson.
Hilla Holt cried for a while in her room before she heard a knock outside her door. When she snapped out of her daze, she quickly ran into the bathroom and wiped her
eyes. Then, she opened the door hurriedly. "Mother!"
When Orlenna Organa saw Hilla Holt’s current state outside the door, she was slightly stunned before she asked nervously, "Did Rudi come here just now?"
Hilla Holt pursed her lips and nodded. She whispered, "He did."
"Did he do anything to you...?" Orlenna Organa’s heart skipped a beat as she looked at Hilla Holt nervously.
Hilla Holt shook her head and whispered, "I broke his arm."
Orlenna Organa sighed in relief and said nonchalantly, "If it’s broken, it’s broken. If Bruce wakes up, even if you cripple him, no one else in the Anderson family will dare say a word."
But now... Orlenna Organa looked at the bedridden Bruce Anderson. "He hasn’t woken up yet. Has Horton come over?"
"He has. He comes over every day, but Bruce is still the same. Horton can’t tell when Bruce will wake up."
Hilla Holt felt complicated emotions in her heart. She might like the current Anderson family, but when Bruce Anderson woke up, she did not know whether she would be able to continue staying in the Anderson family. If Bruce Anderson did not like her and hated her, what should she do?
Orlenna Organa sighed. She had placed too much hope over the past half a year, but every time, this was the answer she heard. She was already used to it.
"Bruce can hear the people around him speak now. If you’re free, you can talk to him. If you’re not busy over the next few days at the university, please go and attend this banquet for me."
Orlenna Organa brought out an invitation. It was a charity dinner. Hilla Holt looked at it and asked, "You want me to go?"
"They should have some items up for a charity sale. You can buy some items back. At the end of the day, you’re doing something good. If anything catches your eye, you can buy it back."
As Orlenna Organa spoke, she gave Hilla Holt a card at the same time. "Mother, I don’t use those things."
Orlenna Organa was too good to her, and she would end up relying on the Anderson family. If she relied on them too much, she would be even more reluctant to leave this place.
"If I ask you to take it, then take it. If something catches your eye, just buy it for me. I have never received any gifts from you, you know?"
Hilla Holt knew that Orlenna Organa was not blaming her. She just did not want Hilla Holt to be constantly bound to the Anderson family, and she wanted to give her sufficient space and freedom.
Hilla Holt felt warmth bloom in her heart. "Thank you, Mother."
"If you go there, have fun. You don’t have to be in a hurry to come back."
Orlenna Organa was not in a hurry to leave. Instead, she looked at Hilla Holt and suddenly said seriously, "If Rudi has caused trouble to you, you don’t have to hold back. You can tell me. Even if Bruce is not around right now in the house, I won’t let you suffer."
Hilla Holt remembered the time her mother was still alive. She was just as gentle as Orlenna Organa had been. She had loved her a lot, and now, when she saw Orlenna Organa, the dam broke in her heart.
She held back the tears that were about to spill from her eyes, and Hilla Holt nodded heavily.
After Orlenna Organa left, Hilla Holt sat on the bed and carefully trimmed Bruce Anderson’s nails. She could not help but mumble, "Your mother is really good to me. Is she doing it for herself or for you?"
"I think she’s doing it for you. She must be thinking that since you’re comatose right now, I might look at you in disdain and divorce you.
"Has your mother really treated me like her daughter? That doesn’t make sense. I remember that you have a younger sister, right? Then, she must be taking care of me because of you.
"I broke Rudi’s elbow today. Say, do you think he will take revenge?
"It’s fine. I’m not afraid of him taking revenge. He can’t do anything to me in the Anderson family, and when we’re out, I don’t have to hold back when I beat him up.
"When will you wake up, Bruce? If you don’t, your mum and I are going to start getting bullied."
Hilla Holt could not help but sigh. Then, there was warmth on the back of her hand.
A hand had grabbed her palm.
Hilla Holt was stunned. She looked up and stared at the hand grabbing hers, and she widened her eyes in disbelief.
"B-Bruce... are you holding my hand? It’s you, right? It’s really you..." The hand around her hand tightened, and she could feel a slight pain in her palm.
The second after Hilla Holt registered this fact, she had already jumped out of bed and grabbed Bruce Anderson’s hand in excitement while she shouted at the door, "Mother! Mother! Come here! Bruce! He reacted!"
Once Horton Hutt came over to examine him, there was joy on his face.
"There are brainwaves in Bruce’s brain, and his limbs are reacting. He should wake up very soon."
This news was far more important than anything to Orlenna Organa. Hilla Holt had to comfort her for a long time before she calmed down.
Hilla Holt looked at the bedridden Bruce Anderson. Very soon, they would officially meet!
Due to Bruce’s condition getting better, Orlenna Organa was very happy. Meanwhile, Hilla Holt continued staying beside Bruce and vented all her displeasure and complained to him. She treated him as her personal tree hole.
In the blink of an eye, it was the day of the charity dinner. This was the first time Hilla Holt represented Orlenna Organa, so she took great care in dressing up.
She sat by the bed and propped up her delicately made-up face so that she could lean over and kiss Bruce Anderson’s forehead. Her lipstick left behind a faint kiss mark on his head.
She whispered with a red face, "I’ll be off now, Bruce."
As she shut the door, the bedridden man’s eyelids moved a little in the quiet room, and his eyelashes fluttered slowly!
