Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 21: I Want to Rest
CHAPTER 21: I WANT TO REST
The charity dinner was held in a huge mansion on the outskirts of New Island.
The entire mansion gave off the air of Western Romanticism. A lot of people were already gathered around the outdoor swimming pool in the courtyard.
Hilla Holt appeared at the banquet dressed in a sparkling gown. The hem of the dress was a light shade of blue, and she wore a pair of crystal high heels. Her slim waist gave off an extremely alluring air.
Her unforgettable face had already attracted everyone’s gaze the moment she appeared at the banquet.
Not far in the distance, Rudi Anderson felt as if electricity surged through his entire body, and the comfortable feeling of having energy filling him surged through him.
Hilla Holt’s appearance instantly caused all the women in the banquet to lose their charm. It was as if there was only this charming shade of aquamarine blue before their eyes.
Rudi Anderson walked over with a wine glass and blocked off all the men surrounding Hilla Holt. His evil eyes were already on Hilla Holt’s eyes fearlessly.
They were not in the Anderson family, so he did not need to be afraid of the master and Orlenna Organa. But he never expected Hilla Holt to have such a good foundation for martial arts hidden in her. So, he quashed the desire in his heart and did not dare to have any feelings for her for the time being.
He brought over a glass of red wine and said sternly to her, "During the charity auction, follow me closely and don’t go wandering around."
Hilla Holt was stunned. She did not expect that the person Orlenna Organa had asked to receive her would be Rudi Anderson.
When she saw that his elbow had already been reconnected and that he seemed to be keeping a respectful distance away from her, it would seem like the two "lessons" she gave him were already enough.
Since they were in this sort of place, if Rudi Anderson wanted to act arrogantly, he had to do so while preserving the Anderson family’s dignity as well his own dignity as the young master of the family. He should not dare to go overboard.
After hesitating for a while, Hilla Holt frowned and took the glass from his hands. But she avoided the elbow Rudi Anderson extended to her and walked forward alone.
"Hilla Holt, what are you doing? There’re a lot of people here, you’re just trying to humiliate me."
Rudi Anderson put on a stern face. Hilla Holt not taking his arm seemed to bother him greatly.
After Hilla Holt greeted a few of the people who came to see her, she turned around with a cold smile and said, "You don’t deserve that much respect."
After that retort, Rudi Anderson gritted his teeth and mumbled darkly, "Do you want the Anderson family and Aunt Orlenna to feel troubled because of this sort of place? She handed over the business to you, and you’ll be facing this sort of social event a lot in the future."
When she heard the Anderson family and Orlenna Organa’s name, Hilla Holt stopped walking, turned around, and smiled. She said in a charming manner, "Since you know that we have to pay attention to our influence in this sort of place, then you should know that I am your sister-in -law. Bruce is currently sick, and since we’re a man and a woman, it would be best if we keep our distance."
Rudi Anderson had long since been bewitched when Hilla Holt turned over in that charming manner of hers. When he saw that the shade of blue had left, he gritted his teeth, unable to accept this.
’Stupid girl, I’ll let you know the difference between a man and woman is later.’ He would definitely get that woman in his hands tonight.
After going around the venue once, Hilla Holt had already switched her glass several times.
She never had to deal with this sort of social event before in the past. Now, the Anderson family gave her a chance, and she should learn all these complicated and boring communications. To make the Holt family rise to power again, she might have to deal with even more social events in the future.
Hilla Holt did not have a high alcohol tolerance. Once she started feeling slightly uncomfortable, she walked to a quiet corner while feeling slightly tired. As she did, she felt like she was walking on clouds. Her feet were light and did not listen to her. She did not expect the punch from the alcohol in this place to be this powerful.
Her body fell to the side, and a pair of hands that had been waiting for a long time grabbed her and held her tightly.
This unfamiliar feeling caused Hilla Holt’s heart to freeze. When she looked up, she saw Rudi Anderson smiling at her maliciously. Her heart skipped, and she knew that something bad was going to happen.
"I’ve been following you for a long time. Looks like the medicine is taking effect." Rudi Anderson had actually drugged her!
Hilla Holt could not believe it. They were in this sort of event, and he did not even care about the Anderson family and the status they had.
Rudi Anderson had clearly been planning this for a long time. He used a lot of force to seize Hilla Holt’s waist and pressed her into his arms. He sighed in his heart. Unable to control himself, his thoughts started drifting.
This woman was really going to be the death of them. Just by getting closer to her, his heart had started surging uncontrollably. The light in his eyes became even wilder, and he looked like he wanted to take the woman in his arms right then and there.
"I spent a lot of effort just to get you, you know? But it was all worth it. I’ll let you
know just how much better I am compared to that half-dead Bruce Anderson."
Rudi Anderson smiled maliciously, and when he saw Hilla Holt struggling in his arms, he whispered, "Stop wasting your energy. You won’t even be able to stand now. You’ll need to wait for a while before you can hit me."
To prevent Hilla Holt from hitting him, he had investigated her background.
She had managed to become the champion for a national children’s martial arts tournament when she was ten. In the past, he did not know that this gentle and lovable sister-in-law of his was actually a martial artist.
Lust shone in Rudi Anderson’s eyes. He did not care about Hilla Holt’s struggles and dragged her to a deserted corner.
There was a small door there, and it would lead straight to the waiting room upstairs. When he came here, he had already picked the place. This time, he would definitely get his hands on her.
As he thought about this, Rudi Anderson felt like his heart was about to go mad as well.
Since there was music blasting around the pool, no one paid attention to what was happening here.
When Hilla Holt saw that she was getting dragged further away, she could only bite her tongue. The scent of blood filled her taste buds, and the pain instantly caused her to become more alert. While Rudi Anderson shut the door, she grabbed the acupressure point above Rudi Anderson’s elbow with a reverse grip, and she instantly heard the man yelping in pain.
"I’m afraid that I haven’t told you, but even if I can’t stand properly, I don’t need any strength to break your elbow or arm."
This time, she did not hold back as she pressed on his acupressure point. Rudi Anderson did not have as easy of a time as he did last time. The pain caused him to let go. Hilla Holt’s knees buckled, and as she staggered, she crashed into a sturdy chest behind her.
What she saw was a pair of expensive and exquisite male leather shoes. The hems of the trousers were neat. The man used a strong forearm to grab her waist and pulled her into his arms.
The familiar scent caused Hilla Holt’s heart to calm down. When she looked up, she saw the man’s dark and cold eyes, and her eyes turned red, she could not let out a single sound.
She had actually let Julian Jorgansen see such a pathetic sight of her!
Hilla Holt bit her lip even tighter, and the thick scent of blood in her mouth made her feel so aggrieved that she wanted to cry.
"Young Master Jorgansen, don’t misunderstand. I saw that Hilla had a few too many drinks, so I wanted to send her home."
Once he saw the person in front of him clearly, Rudi Anderson gained his confidence
again, but the fine drops of sweat on his forehead betrayed just how much pain he was feeling in his arm.
Now that things had progressed to this stage, he would definitely sleep with this woman tonight.
Hilla Holt took a moment to compose herself, and while grasping at her rationality, she gasped for breath and said, "Please send me back to the Anderson mansion!
It would not be safe for her to be outside while looking like this. Only Orlenna Organa and the old master could protect her. This was something Rudi Anderson understood as well, so he would naturally not let her leave so easily.
Julian Jorgansen had a dark look on his face. He carried Hilla Holt in his arms, and when Rudi Anderson came forward to stop him, he brought his leg up slightly to kick him on the knee. Immediately, a grunt could be heard behind him. Rudi Anderson fell into the parterre while holding his leg.
It would not be enough to break just one elbow when it came to this sort of person!
...
Hilla Holt stayed in Julian Jorgansen’s arms after they left the noisy mansion. The breaths she exhaled spread out in the air, and a faint layer of sweat had already accumulated on her forehead.
"Send me back to the Anderson mansion."
Julian Jorgansen tightened his grip over her back, and when he saw her red face, he stopped for a moment.
His dark eyes shone with a terrifying light, and he was like a dangerous leopard who could sink his fangs into someone at any moment.
He regretted it now. He should not have only kicked Rudi Anderson’s leg just now. He should have crippled all his limbs. He would already be considered letting people like Rudi Anderson off easy if he did not beat him to death.
But that regret only lasted for a moment. Julian Jorgansen quickened his footsteps and brought Hilla Holt into the car.
He drove on the bustling streets. The neon street lights shone on the people in the car through the car window. The mottled lights and shadows that swiftly flashed past showed all the dazzling colors and lights in the city.
Cars moved swiftly and endlessly on the streets in New Island. People moved hurriedly on the sidewalks by the sides of the roads, and they were people of all shapes and sizes. Their faces could not be seen clearly.
Hilla Holt looked outside the window with a muddled head. These streets were once familiar to her, but now, they were strangers to her.
She grew up in New Island since she was young, so she should know everything about the place, but after the Holt family went bankrupt, she finally understood just how terrifying a city could be when it decided to be merciless.
Plenty of people wanted to walk here, but it had swept them outside mercilessly. As the Holt family was destroyed, she did not know what else was in this city that was worthy of her to long for.
"Could you drive faster?"
Hilla Holt frowned. She looked down a little, and a faint shadow was cast on her face.
Before she entered the Anderson mansion, she must remain calm and clear-headed.
Julian Jorgansen’s deep voice rose beside her as he asked a question. His voice showed that he was holding back his anger. "This is the reason why you avoided me? You married into the Anderson family by marrying Bruce Anderson, and that’s why you rejected me?"
She did not have to make this choice. She could have gone to Deep City to look for him. With just one phone call, he would have come flying to her side.
But Hilla Holt did not do that. She chose the stupidest path.
Hilla Holt held her dress tightly. The tip of her tongue was between her teeth so that she could remain clear-headed at all times.
Rudi Anderson, that bastard. Once she recovered, she would not just break his elbow. No matter how pitiful of a state she was in, she would not let vile people like him command the disgust in her heart.
When she heard Julian Jorgansen’s question, Hilla Holt whispered, "I don’t want to talk about this now."
"Don’t go back. That place doesn’t suit you. Come with me to Deep City—’
"If the Anderson family doesn’t suit me, would the Jorgansen family suit me? Julian Jorgansen, I am now the lady of the Anderson family and the wife of Bruce Anderson. Please send me back to the Anderson family."
Hilla Holt’s face was covered in sweat, and her eyes were so dark that they were scary.
Since she had been biting on her tongue so hard, she spoke very slowly, and every word she said had a quiver in it. In the quiet car, all these details could be heard clearly.
She pursed her lips into a tight line, and a trickle of blood squeezed out of her lips.
Due to the illumination of the dim light, she looked as terrifying as a demon.
Every word she said was filled with determination, even if Hilla Holt looked really pathetic right now.
She was the second lady of the Holt family and the top socialite of New Island. She had her own pride, and there were certain things where she refused to lose.
Julian Jorgansen sighed. "What sort of power does the Anderson family have? Whatever you want from the Anderson family, I can give. Why... Why did you marry him?"
Julian Jorgansen’s voice was low and hoarse, and his lips were so dry that they were pale.
He knew that he had not helped the Holt family in time when the accident happened, but it was not to the point that Hilla Holt had to get married. Even if she did get married, why did she choose Bruce Anderson?
Why did she choose Bruce Anderson when he could not even get up from bed? Julian Jorgansen tightened his grip over the steering wheel.
"You’re just making yourself suffer."
Marrying Bruce Anderson while he was in that state was something even a normal woman would not be able to stand, much less a rich lady like Hilla Holt. Julian Jorgansen’s eyes turned even colder under the dim light.
Hilla Holt could not help but chuckle. She leaned her head against the car window and blinked slowly. She no longer had the strength to continue arguing with him, "Bruce is good. He’ll wake up soon. I was willing to marry into the Anderson family, and I never once suffered.
"Julian, if you still treat yourself as my senior, please send me back to the Anderson family immediately." She was about to lose control.
"What if I took you away?"
Julian Jorgansen’s deep baritone echoed in the car. Before his eyes, Hilla Holt’s smile was like a bloody lotus. She whispered, "Then, I will be forced to break all ties with you."
The instant the black and reserved Maybach stopped in front of the Anderson mansion, Hilla Holt pushed open the car door and ran inside stumbling.
Julian Jorgansen sat in the car and watched the beautiful and thin shade of light blue disappear from his sight. A complicated look flashed in his eyes before it turned cold.
He originally thought that they could have a new beginning tonight, but Rudi Anderson had thrown a wrench in his plans. Julian Jorgansen tightened his grip over the steering wheel. He remembered the leg he had broken just now and felt unsatisfied. So, he drove his car and quickly turned the car around to head to a pub.
Hilla Holt stumbled into her room and slammed the door shut. Then, she heard Orlenna Organa knocking on her door outside worriedly.
"What’s wrong? Hilla, are you alright?"
"I’m fine, Mother. I drank too much, so I need to rest."
The sound of pained dry heaving could be heard from inside. Orlenna Organa sighed in relief and said with a pained heart, "I’ll have someone make some soup for you. Drink it before you go to sleep."
She was too anxious. Hilla Holt was just twenty years old, and the Holt family had just become bankrupt. She should not make Hilla Holt take over the Anderson family business so soon. Hilla Holt was still young and had not learned how to deal with those social events yet.
Orlenna Organa thought about it and listened to the sounds from inside the door. She could not help but knock on the door. "Hilla, are you okay? Do you feel really bad?"
"I’m fine, Mother. I felt better once I vomited. I’m really tired now."
There was a lackadaisical tone to Hilla Holt’s exhausted voice as she panted. Orlenna Organa registered what she said. "Rest well. I’ll have someone make some warm soup for you later. You’ll feel better after you drink it."
There was no answer from the room, but Orlenna Organa did not mind. Instead, she quickly went downstairs to order the kitchen staff to make some hangover soup.
Hilla Holt leaned against the cold wall in the bathroom. She stood under the shower and let cold water strike her face while she shut her eyes and gasped for breath. She did not know whether she had cried, because even if she had, it would have been washed away by the water.
At some point in time, Hilla Holt dragged her weak body out of the bathroom. The bedroom was still as quiet as ever, and the night lamp on the bedside shone on
Bruce Anderson’s face while he slept quietly.
The man’s features became even more dazzling under the light. The orange light hid away the sickly paleness on his face, and it gave him a look that made him look lively.
There was a tray on the table in the room, and on it was a bowl of warm soup and a warm cup of milk.
Hilla Holt’s gaze landed on Bruce Anderson, and her eyes seemed to be attracted to his body. They were full of affection, and her eyes were filled with a misty, watery look. It was as if tears were about to roll out of her eyes at any moment.
She did not know how long she had showered with cold water. She just knew that these warm liquids would do nothing for her.
After a long while, she moved her feet and drew closer to him slowly...
