Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 69: Margaret
CHAPTER 69: MARGARET
"You want to take me to the Anderson’s for Christmas?"
Halle frowned slightly when she heard Hilla’s purpose.
She didn’t want Hilla to have too deep a relationship with the Andersons, and she was also dissatisfied with Hilla’s impulsive behavior at that time.
Even if the Holt family went bankrupt back then, Hilla should not have used her marriage as a bet. Her marriage with Bruce was a mistake.
At first, they all thought that Bruce would never wake up. Hilla might not be hurt in the Anderson’s, and Bruce could not do anything to Hilla.
Although she felt that Hilla was wronged, Hilla was still safe.
As long as she was ready here, she could bring Hilla out.
However, it was different now. Bruce had woken up. Even if Hilla could accept this ridiculous marriage, Bruce was a thirty-year-old man. He was so much older than Hilla, so how could he accept such a marriage?
Rather than letting Hilla be kicked out from the Andersons by others, it was better to take the initiative to leave from the start.
"Halle, you live alone in such a remote country. The workers have all left. You don’t know anyone here. How can I be at ease letting you spend Christmas here? You can go back with me."
Halle pursed her lips and looked at Hilla, who was full of spirit. Halle felt a little relieved.
From Hilla’s eyes and face, she could tell that Hilla was happy in the Anderson’s and had not suffered any grievances. In terms of marriage, Hilla was indeed much luckier than her.
"Hilla, do you still want to return to the Holt’s mansion?"
Halle suddenly asked her seriously. Hilla furrowed her eyebrows slightly and pursed her lips, saying, "Halle, what happened to you?"
"If we can buy the Holt’s mansion now, are you willing to come back? Just say yes or no, or you want to stay in the Anderson’s forever..."
"I want to go home. I miss our secret base and the vines in the yard. I miss those days when we count the stars in the yard in the summer. I miss those days when we catch crickets in the grass."
That was the place where she had lived for twenty years. How could she not miss it!
She just didn’t dare to think about it, because every time she thought about it, she was afraid that she would cry.
Hilla held back her tears, but in the end, it was Halle who cried with red eyes. Halle said, "I heard that the Holt’s mansion will be auctioned next month. I will try my best
to take back the Holt’s mansion."
Halle thought, "I’ll take back everything we have lost."
"Really? Is the bank finally going to start the auction of our house?"
Hilla was in high spirits. The Andersons had once promised her. Orlenna and she had signed an agreement. As long as the bank auctioned the Holt’s mansion, they would buy it and transfer it to her.
It had been a long time since these things happened, but now that she thought about it, she seemed to remember every word the Andersons had said.
"Hilla, you’ve been wronged in the Anderson’s these days."
Although she knew that what she said was useless, Halle knew that she owed Hilla. No matter what, she was still at ease in the Tyson’s when the Holt family went bankrupt.
Although the days were not smooth, compared to Hilla who had faced the death of their parents and the closing of the company, and the bank pressing debt, she was too incompetent.
Even if she divorced Titus, she would have to rely on Hilla in the end.
Halle felt that it was also funny. As the young miss of the Holt Corporation, she was famous in River City. How did she fall to such a pathetic state?
"As long as we can buy the Holt’s mansion back, I don’t feel wronged at all. Moreover, the Andersons treat me very well."
Hilla gave a sweet smile because she was about to see the big mansion that she had lived in for twenty years.
She did live a good life in the Anderson’s. Other than Bruce occasionally bullying her, she did not feel any discomfort.
"Silly girl! You are always so optimistic!"
"Being optimistic is a good virtue!"
"Halle, do you want to go with me for Christmas? I want you to go with me."
Hilla pulled Halle and acted like a spoiled child.
Halle could not help but laugh.
It was not impossible to go to the Anderson’s to celebrate Christmas with Hilla. It was time for her to meet Bruce after he woke up.
Bruce was famous in River City. It was said that he was ruthless and cold -blooded. Hilla was only twenty years old. How painful would it be to live with such a person?
In the East Courtyard of the Anderson’s.
Margaret pulled the cabbage leaf in her hand and looked at the two puppies in front of her. She sighed heavily.
"Do you think you two are dogs or rabbits? You don’t eat dog food, but you like eating cabbage!"
"Silly Margaret, why are you feeding Cookie and Candy cabbage again? Don’t you know that they will have diarrhea after eating cabbage? I told you to use your brain. You even don’t know how to feed a dog."
Orlenna saw the two dogs that had been fed cabbage and immediately ran over in anger.
The cabbage was immediately taken away by Orlenna. Margaret was so angry that she stamped her feet, saying, "Mom, how many times have I told you not to call me by that? I’m not silly!"
Orlenna was about to leave, but as soon as she heard such a long complaint, she suddenly turned back.
"Are you sick? You idle all day long. I asked you to go abroad to study, but you ruined it. I don’t ask you to be like other noble ladies. Can you at least get a college diploma? You haven’t graduated at twenty-five years old. Don’t you feel embarrassed?"
Hilla was at home at ordinary times, so Orlenna always preserved some of Margaret’s dignity. Today, Hilla was not here, so Margaret suffered a lot.
Margaret was already twenty- five. She was a university student like the twenty-year-old Hilla. The most infuriating thing was that every time she went to a university, Bruce told the leader of the school that she had to get enough credits to graduate.
What Bruce let her learn was the most difficult subject to get credits in the whole school. She was almost bald to get credits!
While Orlenna and Margaret were arguing, Hilla had just returned from outside.
Margaret immediately ran toward Hilla.
Margaret thought, "Hilla, my savior, my fairy, quickly save me!"
...
As soon as Hilla got out of the car, she saw a slim figure running toward her followed by two puppies.
Margaret threw herself into Hilla’s arms, pretending to be sad, and saying, "Hilla, where did you go? I miss you so much. Next time, you must remember to take me no matter where you go."
With Hilla around, her mother wouldn’t keep nagging her. Only with Hilla around, her brother would dote on her.
The most important thing was that Hilla could protect her even if she was outside. If she followed Hilla, she would have a happy life.
"Have you made Mom angry again?"
Looking at Margaret, Hilla knew that Margaret must have done something that made Orlenna angry.
Otherwise, Margaret wouldn’t throw herself into Hilla’s arms.
Margaret was taller than Hilla, so she raised her head and rolled her eyes, saying, "My mother likes you very much. I guess I was picked up in the garbage heap by her. She doesn’t like anything about me. She will say that I am like a dead pig if I sleep more during the day."
"When I have breakfast, she says that I’m a sloven. When I finish the meal, she also complains that I am too fat. The most hateful thing is that after hearing her words, I feel a sense of inferiority. It seems that I really can’t get married, and I will grow old in the Anderson’s alone."
"Hilla, I’m so sad. Fortunately, you are with me, and you are the best!"
Margaret thought, "My brother loves you and my mother likes you. I’m no match for you."
Margaret felt that she was a very upright and honest girl. Everyone thought Hilla was good, and she also thought that Hilla was a good girl. After all, when Hilla saved her back then, she had thought of being Hilla’s sister for the rest of her life.
"Hilla, who is she?"
Halle stood to the side and looked at the girl who was holding Hilla tightly. She frowned slightly. Why did she not remember seeing such a lively girl when she came to the Anderson’s last time?
Hilla quickly pulled Margaret away from her body and held Halle with a smile, saying, "Halle, Margaret hasn’t returned from abroad yet back then. She is Bruce’s younger sister."
Although Margaret was a bit willful, she was kind. Hilla could tell from Margaret taking two puppies to check every month.
A rich lady like her would rarely be willing to raise two puppies as pets, but Margaret
did not care about what people thought about her.
Hilla turned to Margaret and said, "This is my elder sister. Her name is Halle!"
Halle and Margaret were of the same age. But Halle was a few months older than Margaret.
"We’re the same age. What a coincidence! We are indeed a family."
Hearing Margaret’s words, Halle was less embarrassed. Halle couldn’t help but laugh, "Your name, Margaret, is interesting."
Margaret rolled her eyes and said, "My name was given to me by my dead father. There is no meaning at all."
"Margaret means pearl in Greek. Your father said you were the apple of his eye. He must love you very much."
When Halle saw Margaret, she couldn’t help but chat a bit more. Perhaps it was because she had been suppressed for too long these years, she had lost all her friends and classmates from before and trapped herself in the so-called marriage cage of the Tysons.
She used to be afraid of struggling because it was her own choice back then. Her excessive struggle would make her parents worried and now she broke free from this cage.
She just hoped that she was still the Halle of the past.
Margaret looked at Halle with a face of worship and said, "Halle, you are too awesome. I always thought that my name was tacky. I feel that it was so nice after you explain that just now. Even your voice is so nice."
Halle smiled and said, "I just tell you the meaning of your name."
"Hilla, your sister is too amazing. She is so knowledgeable."
In the past, she thought that her father gave her such a tacky name. Now, she felt that her name was full of love.
Margaret had a look of worship, which made Halle chuckle.
Warmth and happiness flooded her heart as Hilla watched the scene.
In the past, Halle was very talented. She was like a blooming white lotus in the water, elegant.
It was as if wherever she went, there would be a unique fragrance. The Tysons had worn off her confidence.
"Why are you all standing here? You’ll catch a cold on such a cold day."
When Orlenna saw that they did not enter the room for a long time, instead, they chatted and hugged with a smile, she could not help but smile along with them.
A few girls of the same age indeed had something to talk about wherever they
stood. It seemed that this Christmas, their family must be livelier than before.
The few of them laughed and chatted as they returned to the house. This was not the first time for Halle to have come to the Anderson’s. Compared to last time, this time, she was calmer.
After all, she was in a sorry state last time, and she had to rely on the Andersons to help her divorce. Therefore, she felt nervous in the Anderson’s.
This time, with Margaret around her, Halle did not feel uncomfortable. And she was directly pulled away by Margaret.
"Halle, which guest room did you stay in the last time?"
Halle said, "The left room of the second floor."
"Why are you living so close to them? On the third floor, the guest room opposite my room is big and spacious. There is also a huge balcony. It is beautiful. You live opposite my room. If you feel scared, why don’t you stay with me? I like to chat with people in the quilt at night. It is like the two sisters hiding in the quilt and whispering. Have you and Hilla ever done that?"
Margaret was excited when she saw Halle. She kept talking to Halle. "Yes, Hilla has liked to live in my room since she was a child."
Halle also laughed, making Margaret even more excited. Margaret said, "Great! You can stay in my room. We can share a room!"
The few of them were chatting happily when there was finally some noise upstairs.
Hilla looked up and saw Bruce supported by Horton go downstairs.
This was the first time Halle had seen the awake Bruce. Compared to the unconscious Bruce whom she had seen, the current Bruce did not give her much of a good impression!
